The worst chicken cesar salad in history!!! Even the cesar dressing was discusting. Huge waste of money. oh and extremely salty pizza sauce. They will never get my buisness again!

As a long time customer, their service is great: nice guys and a large dining area for a pizzeria. However the quality of their slices has declined over time and now seems to cater to the after-school crowd: tiny, pizza in name only. Other menu items are reheated frozen products & the slushies are terrible. Go up the block to Broadway Joes or over the Goodfellas for food.

Finished a track meet at Van Cortlandt park and my 8 yr old wanted pizza. Tony & Val’s Pizza was right opposite the park, so off we went. She had a regular slice and said it was ok, not as good as La Bella in Yonkers. I had a slice with fresh Mozzarella cheese and basil on a thin crust. I found the sauce on my slice a little sweet but overall it was ok.

Way up Broadway past the end of the number one train at 251st Street. A neighborhood pizza place. A four and half star pizza dripping with delicious oil and thin crust made by a guy who was speaking to customers non stop in Spanish who knew all their names. It was a warm day, 89 degrees and the ceiling fans were turning full speed. No air conditioning in this place, but it was still comfortable with the constant air and no heat from the oven was felt by me. Also had the option of going across the street to Van Cortlandt Park if I wanted to eat outside. This place gave great tribute to the Yankees. Baseball cards all over the wall, going back to the 1970’s except for the 1963 Joe Pepitone card. A lot of other Yankees history is on the walls. The pizza crust was good(4 star) but not good enough to make it a five star pizza. Price was only $ 15. for a pie and there was a $ 1.00 off coupon in their take out menu. I was able to use that though this was my first visit. A delightful pizza which was a joy to eat. It also tasted good when I reheated some leftover slices. Strongly recommend this pizza for an enjoyable meal. Credit cards are excepted with an order of $ 15.20 or more.

The bread was literally the only good part of this meal. We ordered chicken Francese and chicken Marsala, with a side order of broccoli with garlic and oil and garlic knots. We got onion bread that was completely burnt. Frozen broccoli with watery oil and garlic. And then peppery chicken with lemon flavor and peppery chicken. The chicken was not cleaned, there were pieces of cartilage and veins in the chunks– not thinly sliced chicken breasts. The flour on the chicken had a raw taste to it. There was no marsala wine in my dish whatsoever. There was no real lemon in the francese dish. What a poor excuse for Italian food. I will never order from here again.

The only close-by to Van Cortland Park pizza place AND the only Ms. Pac Man stand-up arcade version game, that I know of, in the area. Yeah yeah yeah, I would go there more-so for the game but the pizza wasn’t too bad either. Used to frequent this place moreso when I was up in that neighborhood more often but if you’re in the area, stop by for a slice. Be sure to bring along some quarters for the game … or just ONE if you’re good like me and all you need is 25 cents to last 25+ minutes. :-)

This is my favorite, and only, pizza place to grab a slice after a workout in Van Cortlandt Park.
