I love this spot I had soo much fun the bartender was really nice I went here for my mothers bday and the bartender hooked her up. It wasnt packed we had the floor to ourselves. The drinks were good the music was good and we had a really good time. If you want to just hang out with your girls and have the floor to yourselves this is the spot to go.

Okay so I went to this lounge and was really surprised at how empty it was the day we went. There were a handful of people at most and that is including the staff. Honestly, didn’t feel very welcoming unless you are a regular. But, my friend and I decided to give it a chance. The place was clean but did have a strong smell of either Clorox or another type of cleaning agent when you entered. I noticed when I sat there was a pail with water to the side of the entrance door that may have explained the smell. The servers were doable not stellar but not rude by any means. There was music playing which was actually good. But, the lounge itself didn’t have a vibe where you want to stay and hang out. We left after one drink. It may have just been an off night. The clientele the night we went were in their late 30s to late 40s. I truly doubt I would be back. But to be fair it may be doable for the«fellas» when they just want to hang out and have a couple of drinks in a dive bar setting. But definitely not suitable in my opinion for a girls night or date night.

Typical, small caribbean bar. I come with a friend and he’s a regular. Depending on the day and the time, there might or might not be a crowd. Also depending on the day and time, there is a cover. Good tunes, strong, cheap drinks, good food and pretty bartenders is why I come back. You can smoke in the back, which is a plus!

So we ended up here after midnite on a Thursday… Paid $ 10 a piece to get in and you get 2 tokens for your first drink. so basically you are paying for your first 2 drinks @ the door. cool… the security guy was real cool also. Like the other review said the crowd was mature, mostly Caribbean and no one was looking for trouble.(thank god) I found me a spot at the bar. enjoyed some good stiff drinks for a cheap price. Music was on point. some reggea, some hip-hop, some old skool jams. 5 mins in there and my ears were popped that’s how loud the music was. but it was fun. people were dancing and having a good time. Hubby and I def enjoyed ourselves! after getting our buzz on and enjoying some good tunes we walked up the block to the royal coach diner and had ourselves a tasty meal to end the morning. Def a good spot to go to for some good diner food after some drinks. Overall I would def pass by here again!

Whispers. Small Jamaican Bar in the cut on Gun Hill Road. Came in here to get a drink with some friends and cool out after a long day of running around. No cover to get in, but expect to get a thorough pat down. I ain’t mad though, the Bronx is known for getting crazy from time to time. The drinks are strong & cheap; definitely a real mature Caribbean crowd in here. The simple space consist of a small bar area with an open space towards the back so people can dance. The patrons on this nite were just looking to knock back a couple of Heineken’s while listening to some real ol’ school reggae tunes. The DJ did oblige. The selecta was on his job, running big tune after big tune after big tune. Made you just wana grab ya woman by the hand, find a dark corner and catch a nice slow dub(really close dancing) while taking sips of ya Heineken. I’m not in the area often, but I’m sure I’d drop in here a lil more than«every now and then» to take a sip.
