My husband and I ate here on our way to NYC. Firstly, the setting is adorable. Lovely affluent area with small bookshop, bakery, and boutiques. I was excited to give this place a try since it seemed very popular. The appeal ended a few seconds after getting there, however. The whole restaurant is covered in the menu, so it’s absolutely overwhelming just to place your order and the orders are being collected so quickly that I was being shoved through the line without being able to even get my bearings. So we ordered. Can’t go wrong in a delicatessen with a classic Italian and a Philly Cheesesteak, right? Wrong. The Italian did come on a fresh roll, which was good, but that’s it: meat, lettuce, tomato. Nothing else. ?? No flavor. As plain as plain gets. The Philly had some decent meat, but had the plastic wrapped American cheese product cheese slices on it. WTH? I didn’t come to a Deli to get plastic wrapped cheese! Lastly, let me scream from the rooftops«Overpriced!!!» For two sandwiches with a side and a drink: $ 35! If they were good, that’d be fine. It hurt to spend that on what we were given. Don’t go. Go somewhere else.

A good place to go if you know what you’re getting. For a while I didn’t like this place — there are a lot of sandwich options and it took me a few tries to get something that I really liked. But now I’m a regular. Cons: Long lines, long prepare times — order in advance if you can.

Best deli in Westchester County 1. Big staff, all hustle 2. Everything fresh fresh 3. Great grill, great soup 4. Creative sandwiches, big enough to split I’m sitting here with Mom, its quiet after lunch and before dinner. We got a table, enjoying the coffee and reading The Post. German potato salad to go. There’s «regulars» here, especially for dinner… So you get to know folks in the neighborhood. Extra Pros: You can text your order so it’s waiting for you Cons: the bathroom is down a long set of basement stairs. years ago they’d recommend you go to the beauty parlor for the bathroom. now people who can’t hike down safely, go to Starbucks up the block, or Slave to the Grind down the block. lines get crazy long at peak hours, like when the high school is on lunch hour… only a handful of tables… but pretty quick turnover

Pretty good sandwiches. The thing that keeps this place from being a 5 star deli is the wait. Also, some can be on the pricey side. The lines are always super long, but it’s not purely because of volume(although they do get a lot of traffic), I think it’s more because they push out the food so slowly. Even after you get to the front to order, it’s a good 10 – 15 minutes to get your food. I ordered an egg and cheese on a wrap and it took 15 mins, sorry but that’s just too long.

Came here randomly for breakfast. Amazing full of everything and anything you ask for sandwiches. Their home fries are amaze-balls! Rasberry/pink lemonade iced tea mix was great for me because it wasn’t fully loaded with sugar. So if you want a really sweet one that’s def not the mix for you. Only downside is they don’t take debit or credit cards so bring your cash in hand! Wish I lived closer to this place!

Woweee. Just dropped by to pick up a Reuben sandwich and walked out with an armload of goodies: rice pudding, chicken salad, and chicken cutlet. Can’t wait to try them all! One thing I noticed: they don’t have a tip jar. Given the amount of standing and running around they do, it seemed as if the staff needed some show of appreciation. Mine was as friendly and patient as one could be so I tipped him a dollar – not a large sum by any means, but which he seemed to appreciate :-).

A deli with friendly service and 5 clean tables. Constant stream of people. The food looks delicious but we were only passing through so I only had an iced coffee and my husband had a toasted muffin. Smiles all around. Delicious.

Sandwich perfection. The ideal deli with enough amazing sandwiches to never be bored. The only downsides to Lange’s is that it is a bit expensive and they only take cash. A bit unfortunate but never stops me from chowing down on a Meltaway or Bonanza.

I love this place! You want a solid, on point Sammie. You go here! Go before or after lunch rush if you can! Line is long during those times. Also cash only !

My favorite deli but had been so disappointing lately since new owners. The line is so long and takes forever it used to move so fast. Every order comes out wrong. I order avocado Swiss fresh turkey garlic mayo and had just turkey and mayo while I paid for everything else. So pissed off with the new workers who wrote down the order to only get it wrong.

Oh geeze what happened to this place? I’ve been coming here 10 years on and off. My last two visits were very bad. Lots of staff there but… it’ll take you a half hour to get a sandwich and coffee at 10 am on a Saturday morning. Then as you leave you should pray that they get your order right. How do you mess up Iced Coffee light and sweet??? I nearly spat it out when I got to my car it was that bitter!!! That’s after repeating light and sweet to the tall young guy behind the counter multiple times. Langes used to have one of the best displays of deli fare behind the glass in the area. It’s kinda scary to see the food is so old and stale it actually has patina! I wanted to order something for lunch but after looking at what they had… no thanks. I only end up here now because the line is too long at Park Place Bagel up the street. I suspect that’s why most people go to Langes now. I miss the old Langes experience.

So good! Everything I have had here has been amazing. The lines can get long but they move pretty quick, just make sure to go outside of the high school lunch period. Cash only. Pastrami is excellent!

Lange’s is one of the best delis in town. however, the sandwiches take an incredible amount of time to be made. ordered a basic turkey and cheese sandwich, i was the only one in there and it took around 20 – 25 minutes to make(it’s long, but most of the time it’s worth it). another reason i’m not giving Lange’s 5 stars, the employees can be rude. they seem to be slightly annoyed and in a hurry for you to pay so they can move on to the next customer. on a more positive note, the bronco wrap, peruvian panini, and mac and cheese are the best. iced coffee and the green tea with lemon is phenomenal! definitely try and pop in, just make sure you’re not in a hurry!

It’s a shame to see such a fall from grace due to new ownership. I’ve been going to Lange’s since the 80’s and it was an institution. From the sixth grade through high school my friends and I would eat there at a minimum twice a week. When I return to visit my parents it was a necessary stop. I recently went and couldn’t help but notice how long and slowly the line moved. It was ridiculous. Part of the beauty of the«old» Lange’s was that it was a well oiled machine. The line may have been long but it at least moved quickly. The person who made sandwiches for my wife and me took incredibly long and not until I returned home did I notice that the toast was well burnt. It certainly was disappointing that I had to eat burnt toast but even more disappointing was the fact that there is no longer quality control. Lastly, the plastic bags, I can’t believe after all the years they stopped using the traditional plastic bags with the Lange’s logo, they now use a cheap plastic bag that basically fall apart on the trip to the car. It’s a shame to see a place I’ve been going for over 25 years change so quickly. I hope the new ownership can get control and make it great again.

THEBESTDELI in Westchester When I’m in Bronxville it’s a special treat to visit Lange’s. The usual and the specialty sandwiches are to DIE for. The hot food and salad choices are super tasty. Fresh fresh fresh! You know that because the line is out the door. We always get food to go because there are not many tables. The last turkey sandwich I had at Lange’s was somewhat disappointing(see pic) because there was not enough turkey — usually two can share one of these big sandwiches, not this time. Please do not change the way you have always made sandwiches in the past! I will be back and see. Do NOT confuse this Lange’s with the mediocre Lange’s of Scarsdale. They are completely different.
