It’s unfortunate I have to write this, because we absolutely love Dr. Straka, but his office staff have caused me to drop him as a doctor. I recently made an appointment for my daughter, who is a college student and has a tight schedule. The soonest available appointment(for current patients) was two months out. The receptionist I spoke with said she would schedule the appointment and have the nurse call me to see if they could squeeze me in sooner. After having tried several times to get in sooner(not their fault, it just didn’t work with her school schedule), we decided we would just keep the original appointment. When she showed up, they had no record of her appointment. Instead of attempting to rectify the situation, the woman I spoke with told me I simply had not scheduled the appointment — not a possibility that they forgot to put it in the computer, not a possibility that it was their error, no apologies. The only possibility was that I never scheduled an appointment. Attempted to blame me. Horrible customer service and I am extremely tolerant of mistakes, had there been so much as an apology. Drove 45 minutes and waited two months for nothing.

I had a very bad billing experience here. After I received my bill from AD and paid it off, I later received an additional bill from an external company weeks later that I hadn’t budgeted for. No one at AD made me aware that another company would be involved and that I would get a later bill from them. I wrote a respectful letter to AD explaining that no one made me aware of the additional bill that would come or why all of my info would be sent to an external company. No one ever replied in writing as I had asked, and the bill kept coming — eventually with the threat of collections. Just a horrible experience with an office that doesn’t seem to care about communicating with its loyal customers about billing confusion and questions.

Dr. Shuckitt is amazing and probably the best dermatologist that I have ever had. However, I am disappointed in the front desk staff who NEVER know what they’re doing. Also, scheduling an appointment is so hard to do. Every time I call the representatives are«busy» I find it very hard to believe that all of the representatives are on the phone every minute of the day. I dont really have all day to sit and wait on the phone for a long period of time when I have a full time job… Either hire people who can work faster on the phones or figure out a different way for patients to book appointments because I cant wait 5 hours on the phone to book one appointment.

I don’t normally write reviews, and I saw Dr. Straka at the Germantown office, but I was so pleased by my experience I thought I’d give them kudos. I went in with some anxiety about a skin issue I have and from the moment I entered until the second I left the office, I was treated with such great understanding, compassion, and never felt uneasy during my visit. Dr. Straka was respectful and helpful and made me feel like he could truly help me. The staff at the desk was great too — they are busy but not busy enough that I felt like I had to wait too long. Kudos to all. Keep up the great service!

The receptionists are terrible. They are rude, less than helpful, and care little to none about the patients. I have been seeing a doctor there for over 7 years, but I will be switching. I cannot take the terrible customer service by the ladies at the front desk.

I cannot say much but wanted it to be noted: it is a minimum of 6 weeks out for a new patient, and after being put on hold on the phone for 10 minutes, I was disconnected and had to redial in and wait another 10 minutes. It doesn’t describe my experience with the doctors, but left a bad taste in my mouth. So much for patient satisfaction. Good luck setting up an appointment with them. Hopefully your condition can wait 6 weeks…

I have been extremely pleased with my experience at Affiliated. I saw Dr. Straka for an overall exam and while there decided to have some minor imperfections removed. He was very good at explaining my options and made me feel very comfortable. His nurse is also very nice and everybody seems happy to be there. Yes, they are extremely busy and wait times can be a bit long, but Dr. Straka was very apologetic, and I am willing to wait an extra 15 minutes for excellent care. I am so glad I found Affiliated!
