I hired Allen E. Power to put in a vault and check valve system. Once they got into the round, they found my sewer line pitched towards the house. They could have installed the valve and closed their eyes to the problem but instead, alerted me to it and found a better solution to my persistent flooding problem. I ended up with a pit and lift station in my yard. In order to try to stay on schedule, they contacted the village and got the additional permit to change the scope of work. Since the additional work added another day of construction, they made it up over the Labor Day weekend (and did not charge any holiday fees).
The cost of the lift station was more than the backflow valve, but they happily worked with me on a payment plan. They handled all of the permits, «julies», and inspections.
The best part… the day after completion, we got 2″ of rain and not a single drop ended up in my house. A+ to Denise, Jerry, Jim, Chris and KC.
I will gladly recommend this company to anyone considering a flood prevention system

Avoid this company! We hired them to put in a check valve for about $ 3600 and they charged us almost 4K! It actually flooded the day after they left, but had flooded not before! Workers left a big mess in the front yard after they were done. We had to pester them to come back and clean it up. They also tracked mud in the house and didn’t wear booties. Do not use this company. We found out the hard way that the company was sold a few years ago and has been going downhill ever since the new owners took over.

Just used their services again for a different issue, and Alex was great. Solved the problem and gave advice to help avoid future difficulties.

I have used Power Plumbing for over 23 years and have always received prompt, efficient service. Having lived in a 90 year old house, there were many times where I needed the help of a good plumber. The employees and owners always provided exemplary service. It is nice to support a great, family owned, local business!

Power plumbing came recommended by my wife’s boss, best call I ever made. Sump pit was taking in water during rains and house use, in the middle of winter. Scott was sent to pre-​determine the possible cause. Sump pit in place for 20 years, never had this problem before. Thinking of worst case possible, broken main line, power plumbing came out to rod out the main line & then send a video camera down. The 2 men sent out were very professional, very informative and got right to work. Within minutes of ridding, the water level in the pit dropped dramatically. Came out with 4 foot long blanket of roots that had grown within the pipe. Scott contacted me shortly after the guys left my house & said with the results that we experienced, that we should wait &see on sending down the Camera. Great job at a great price. I will definitely be calling Power Plumbing in the future, if needed.

Thank you Betty and Deb helping me make up my mind where I will seek help, and which business I will support. You were horribley rude. After Deb hung up on me on Wed, and Betty was completely RUDE on Thursday — — I have taken my business to Riverside Plumbing. I had all intentions of supporting my local La Grange business but will not if I am treated like a nuisance. Not being able to use water in my home of 3 children and 2 adults is a personal urgency to have addressed. Sorry you need to deal with customers.

Wow, I hope their service hasn’t gone down the drain! I’ve had some good luck with them. The owner picked up my call on a weekend and told me how to fix my problems so I wouldn’t have to pay an after-​hours service fee. When they couldn’t fix another problem I had, they adjusted down the fees. Overall they have treated us fairly.

Had a plumbing emergency and got yelled at by the dispatcher. Customer service = 0.

Not very good. We had continuous problems with a block in the pipes and they kept sending their «interns» who were new at the job and didn’t know much. They weren’t much help, but did try.
He has a 24 hour emergency line that he advertises, so we called one more time when it was raining and pipes were flooding and he got mad that we called him at 10pm when he advertises his number as being 24 hours. If you don’t want calls at night, don’t advertise you have a 24 hour line.
