Best place to grab a burger in Brookfield/Lyons area. Also have the best onion rings around here

This place is great. Super friendly staff and quality food. I like that they also have, not one but TWO vegetarian sandwich options. I’ve only gotten burgers from here so far but they have been great. I plan on trying out the veggie burgers soon!

After a bumpy start, they have settled in nicely. The order takers are amiable and helpful. The burgers are luscious and big. Some of the best fries and onion rings we have ever had. It’s clean and nicely lit. They were playing a 40s Big Band tune and then a 50s Bee-Bop song on their muzak, which I found very entertaining while I waited. All in all, it’s a great burger joint, with nice folks.

This place is amazing! The food is delicious and the portions are very generous for the price. My favorites are the onion rings, the chicken smother burger, the chicken burger, the chicken salad, the chicken sticks, needless to say I seem to like it all. I love their daily specials for the diversity of their food selections. Burger Colony is a great addition to Brookfield!

I love supporting local businesses and came here tonight while visiting my family. I wanted to like Burger Colony, I really did. But everything went wrong with my experience. The gentleman taking orders was obviously overworked, trying to answer the phone orders and take our order at the same time. That was the first red flag. Yes, the store was very busy, but there’s no need to interrupt us in the middle of our order to answer a phone order. Then we waited 25 minutes for our food. I don’t mind a wait for food that’s made fresh, especially since there were 4 of us in the party. But when multiple customers came in after us and got their food before us, I got suspicious. At that point, my mom asked and it turned out our food had been sitting in the hot box for about 10 – 15 minutes. To the employee’s credit, he was very friendly and asked what he could do to fix the situation. We asked for a refund since the food was most likely cold by then. He gave us a refund and the food to take as well. When we got home, every burger in the order was wrong, as well as cold. Our fries were also forgotten. The sad thing is, I think the chicken burger I ordered would have had potential had it been made correctly and served hot. I’d be willing to try this place again, though, maybe on a night that’s not so busy.

First visit tonight. — Ordered their signature cheesburger. — Fantastic! Like I grilled it myself. Very Happy! — Fries w/a side of cheese — Fresh, Very Happy! — order of Hot Wings. — Not bad, earned a second chance but will request crispy. Flavor good just alittle soft. Cost — totally reasonable! I believe Culvers is more expensive, this it many steps above in quality. Great to have this place local!

Tried this place today since it’s just down the street from me. Not a particularly large menu, so I went with bacon cheese burger. It really doesn’t do anything to separate itself from a fast food burger at mcdonalds or BK. The bacon was a little skimpy, burger kind of bland, colony sauce was very runny and had too much pepper. They were out of chicken sticks apparently so I went with the fries expecting them to be like Hey Vivs were back in the day and they were seriously awful. Not sure if they were undercooked or just way underseasoned but they are were the biggest disappointment of the meal. The new Wendy’s down the street would have been a better meal for sure.

My husband and I went today and it was OUTSTANDING! We love that the menu is simple and short. I enjoyed the falafel burger with onion rings and my husband had a classic cheeseburger with fries. I liked that they had an option other than a black bean burger like most places have to offer for vegetarians. My husband commented on the fact that the last burger place we went to didn’t even offer just a regular cheeseburger like burger colony. The food was made to order, which I appreciate a lot more than fries that have been sitting out for hours. Everything tasted amazing! Will, the owner, brought out samples of chicken noodle soup, which my husband said was delicious. Lots of shredded chicken and very tasty was his exact words. The onion rings were nice and crispy. The fries were homemade and super good! We will definitely be coming back. We were greeted the moment we walked in the door. Everyone was friendly. Will took the time to introduce himself and chat with us for a few minutes before we were leaving. There was mention of the possibility serving breakfast, which I think is a great idea. Luckily when we came in, there was seating available so we ate there. But I wouldn’t mind taking the food to go if I had to. I think they have done a wonderful job. Keep up the great service and food! Can’t wait to go back!

The burger and fries were great. I stopped in 1÷8÷2016 for a carry out menu, and was thinking fries. I was the only customer there, and greeted by all that were there, about 3 or 4. I didn’t get a carry out menu, was told they should have them printed soon. I did get a colony burger. I asked what is this colony sauce? I was told its like 1000 island dressing, but has a kick to it. He gave me a sample, it was good, and I saved it and dipped my fries in it. The burger was on a soft bun, it was juicy, colony sauce great addition, and I was pleased. The menu, not too much, that it takes you forever to decide. My fries were cooked just right! I will be coming back…

This was our first time going to Burger Colony. We had the colony cheeseburger, chipotle Mexican burgers, and fries which were great. The service was wonderful and fast! We look forward to going back soon.

Not great for the price and amount of time it takes get food. They need to work on their food prep. I can think of two other better burger spots less than a mile from this one which is why I won’t be back.

Solid burger but not as good as Burgerworks was or Burger Antics is. That said, it’s a good pick up option and the prices don’t kill you. Wish they had a grass fed option.

Really pleased with our first visit to Burger Colony! We live right down the street and were huge fans of its predecessor, but we tried not to have too many expectations. We had burgers, fries, hot dogs, and chicken sticks among us and everything was super tasty. The burger was suuuuuuper sloppy, which isn’t a bad thing necessarily. Our fries were PERFECT(maybe they’re getting the hang of it) and the chicken sticks were real chicken breast and surprisingly fresh. The Chicago dogs were also spot on. We’ll definitely be back(and will likely give their delivery a try soon!)

Decided to visit this joint as a result of the good smell of charbroiled burger that comes from me… I would have given them 5 stars, however considering that my husband and I were the only two people in the joint, and food is cooked to order, I thought our food should have been hotter. Taste was very good on all items that we purchased, but for whatever reason the food was not hot … For example I ordered my fries without salt, expecting that they come out of the oil piping hot and they weren’t. But I will definitely return, to give them a second chance to redeem themselves, because my cheeseburger was absolutely delicious!

We were excited to try this place since the place that was previously there was good. We ordered hot dogs since we were having lunch. The hot dogs themselves were good, but the buns were hard in spots and definitely not steamed. The biggest let down was the fries. Completely over cooked and hard. Hopefully things are better if we decide to try again.

This place has some large shoes to fill. This was the previous site of Chicago Burger Werks. The wife and I were really excited to hear they finally opened up. There has been a huge void since the previous restaurant closed. We ordered the Mexican & Ruben burgers with a small order of fries. The wife and I both rated our burgers at 7⁄10. They were tasty and properly prepared. The«colony sauce» is uneventful. I’d rather have some sliced jalapeño and home made queso than that sauce on something called«Mexican». Fries were the let down. Dry, overdone, and an unusual amount of small extra crispy bits. I hope things are the way they are only because they just opened. I will definitely give them another try in the future.

I had the cheeseburger today and it was great! That Colony sauce is awesome, same style as In-N-Out’s. Fries were good too. Glad to have a place like this close by. I didn’t take a pic of the burger because I scarfed it down right away, so good, I want another tomorrow.

Was happy to hear Burger Colony was opened. I read in the local newspaper that they were aiming for a November open. Seems there was some hold up and they just recently opened a couple days ago. To start off, this is a small building. There’s not a lot of room to work with here. They’ve done a good job cleaning up the interior, from the space I can see it looks like they’ve made some updates. They provide indoor seating, but it’s very limited. And when it gets busy it’ll get crowded in there since the area to wait for your order is pretty much the same area you would sit to eat if you plan on sticking around. When I walked in, I was greeted by several people behind the counter. They weren’t busy, two people ahead of me. Everyone seems really nice, and you can tell they’re aiming to please. The menu isn’t huge, a few burger variations, a vegetarian menu, some chicken options, italian beef, and usual sides. This should work well for a business this size, offer few options and ensure what you are serving is the best it can be. Now on to the stuff that matters, the food. I went with the standard cheeseburger. It comes with typical toppings(lettuce, pickle, onions) and a sauce they’ve called Colony Sauce. I wanted to taste the burger the way they’ve intended it. It was really good. Burger patty was tasty. The Colony Sauce was a nice addition. It adds a good complimentary flavor to the burger. I’ll definitely continue to order the burger this way. I also ordered a large fry as my side. I won’t go large again, the portion is very generous, bordering on Five Guys size. The size below should be good enough. The fries look fresh cut. They’re a little closer to shoe string size then I prefer, but it isn’t bad. The fries resemble McDonalds fries when it comes the size of the actual fry. They tasted great however, much better then the fry they resemble. A burger, large fry and tax came out to $ 8.26, which is very reasonable. Same price you’d pay to get bland, fast food alternative down the street. I’m happy to see this business in Brookfield, and wish them the best. I’ll continue to be a customer.

This is going to be a hot spot on Ogden Avenue. The food is prepared as you order, so it is fresh, hot and flavorful. The staff is kind and attentive. It would make for a nice stop after a zoo visit, or lunch on the run.
