We came to Dr. Kuffel’s office because they were close by, open, and able to receive us at the last-​minute when my husband’s badly decayed tooth began to hurt. He had been told he would need a root canal or an extraction, but he has a limited ability to open his jaw, as well as no dental insurance, so we waited.
Dr. Kuffel was kind and knowledgeable. He was able to have a look at my husband’s tooth and honest about his inability to perform the extraction. He recommended that we get an ENT surgeon to remove the tooth. We told him about my husband’s medical history (the reason for the tight jaw) and explained how 2 jaw surgeries had done little to help. Dr. Kuffel knew the surgeon we have worked with, and gave her a personal call to refer my husband to her and ensure that he would be seen by her under insurance rather than out of pocket (ENT surgeons do not typically do tooth extractions without good reason).
We are grateful to Dr. Kuffel and his friendly staff for their help! I will be coming to them soon for the first time for routine cleaning and exam for myself.
