Love Kopp’s! Best burger and onion rings ever! If you have a friend in from out of town please bring them here and not a poser like Culver’s. This blows the«C» word out of the water.

Let me start off by saying it will very unlikely I set foot in Kopp’s again any time in the near future. While the dining experience wasn’t exactly«bad», Kopp’s menu selection and prices leave little to be desired. Never have I been to a restaurant that charged for a glass of water, until now. While nearly $ 20(they don’t have a combo/basket option) for two cheeseburgers and two, albeit large orders of fries is not bad by sit-down standards; For a fast food burger that doesn’t make up in quality, is a little bit too high for me. The burger tasted alright but was nothing special, with myself getting almost sick of it halfway through the meal. The fries were quite good, but I can go to a number of other competitors for better quality. Also to metion, Kopp’s charges between 25 and 60 cents per hamburger topping, as well as asking an additional 75 cents for ketchup.

I’ve been coming to Kopp’s pretty much my whole life. Back in the day, they used to be on Appleton Ave. in Milwaukee, but now we frequent the Brookfield location. The space in Brookfield is better than some of the others in town for seating, especially in the colder months when you need to be inside, but this is definitely not a dine in restaurant. They basically have spaces to sit on the benches with a couple of tables in the back. It works, and we hardly ever have trouble finding a seat. I know tons of people love their custard, but we usually go for the burgers, fries and onion rings. These burgers are definitely in my all time top five burgers ever. I’m partial to the cheeseburger with the works including the fried onions. It’s a nice combination meaty, cheesy, messy goodness that reminds me of childhood. The burgers are huge size wise but with a nice thin patty. The onion rings are always great, and I love their fries. If you have room for custard after burgers, try their flavor of the day or one of their specialty sundaes. If you do order a sundae, meay I suggest only getting a small. The large ones are enough to feed an entire family(feel free to order one if you actually do bring the whole family).

We went there for a casual dinner and ordered onion rings, fish sandwich and chicken buffalo burger. Onion rings were nice and crispy, but they didn’t provide any dip with it. Fish sandwich was good too. The chicken burger was not up to the mark, it was dry. Then we had their blueberry cheesecake frozen custard, that was mind blowing, yummy and addictive.

Was very excited to stop at Kopps, hadn’t been there in quite a while! Ordered a fish sandwich with lettuce, cheese and tartar sauce. After I took a few bites I had this rotten taste in my mouth! I pulled the sandwich apart and found this rotten lettuce! It was so gross!

What can I say, it’s a local novelty. Pay attention to the Flavor Forecast and find the ones that speak to you! They will do halvsies, so you can try more types. Beware it can be pretty rich though, so a small always does fine for me.

For my wife, it will always be LEON’s. However, we were in Brookefield so we stopped here. Wife stuck to her usual vanilla, but I tried the spumoni and it was ahhhmaazing! So fresh, so full of cherries and whole almonds. Really awesome.

I’d give five for taste, service and the location itself but the single scoop with hot fudge is pretty small for $ 3.10.

Not sure what all the fuss is about. Certainly not in the league of Ted Drews and not even the best in Milwaukee. Our family prefers Leon’s

Advertised to me as a «Culver’s taken up a notch», I won’t say I was disappointed here, but I also wasn’t blown away. I mean, I like Culver’s, but I don’t think it’s an insanely good burger place, so «up a notch» from Culver’s doesn’t really mean that it’s going to change my life, but I was still hoping for something pretty great. I went with a cheeseburger and onion rings — note that I like onion rings but don’t generally want onions on most things. However, when told that burgers included«fried onions», I picture a nice heap of shoestring onions on the burger. Unfortunately, «fried onions» actually meant a huge amount of barely cooked sauteed onions. Even sauteed onions would have been OK had they been cooked soft and sweet, but what I got was way too raw for my taste, and there were a lot of them. But that aside, the burger was good, just not exceptional. The onion rings came out glowing they were so hot, and with a nice crispy crunchy batter. Custard on the other hand, was excellent, with a super silky texture that I would compare to my current high water mark, Ted Drewes in St. Louis. Very very good, certainly up a notch from Culver’s custard. Prices are pretty reasonable and service is quick. I would come back for a cheeseburger(no onions this time) and the rings and custard. But I won’t tell you this is going to redefine your world view.

I’ve never even heard of frozen custard, much less eat it! So it’s surprising that this was the second frozen custard place I went to in a span of 2 days. But OMG, it’s the creamiest thing ever. I loveeeed the sundae I got, it was so rich and just so filling! It was something with cashews, and I had a scoop of chocolate too. Also this is the place we decided to continue the tradition of having frozen custard with a grilled cheese sandwich. Odd, I know. But it was so good! The warmth and the saltiness balanced out the cold and creamy just right!

Even when Kopps is(slightly) bad, it’s so, so, so damn good, so the worst I can ever give it is 4 stars. Getting into the parking lot here is always an exercise in patience and reflexes. The lots not laid out great for the strip mall behind it, so just getting near Kopps can be bad. Then there are no stall lines left in the actual Kopps lot, so parking is always wonky. Plus there’s the inevitable child darting out into traffic. My advice — pull into the first spot you see in the strip mall lot and walk in. It’s likely that I’d put Kopps Cookies n Cream on my death row, last meal list. I’ve had a long, passionate affair with it. It’s the«ice cream» by which all other iterations are judged. So I was super-disappointed when we were there the other night and took home a quart that had approximately three crushed cookies in it. Ya’ll know that’s not how Kopp’s usually rolls, but this wasn’t packed in the middle of a rush. This was pre-packed and whoever was doing so should have been more up on putting the additions in the mix. What this location has above the other two is an abundance of seating, both inside and out. There’s always a ton of kids working and I’ve always had the shortest waits for my food here. I love this location — it’s the most convenient for me and on a summer night, it’s so nice to sit and have your meal. But they’re on thin ice after this cookies n cream experience and I’ll be on the lookout for future cookie related incidents!

Cons: Attrocious prices. Double cheeseburger, single cheese burger with bacon, two orders of fries, 1 drink and two orders of 1 scoop custard. $ 26+ change. Pros: The quality of the burger was the highest I’ve tasted in the States, very delicious sammich. You could taste it from the beef to the tomato, fresssshhhhhh and high quality. Fries were okay nothing special, same with the custard, I prefer Culvers custard. I’d come again and next time I’ll just stick with the burger for around $ 8 – 10, expensive? Yes. Delicious? Yes. It was hefty too, I picked it up and let it fall on the table a couple of times, very juicy buggah.

This place was absolutely fantastic. I’m from Canada on a road trip home and I wanted to enjoy icecream from a local shop when Unilocal!Directed me to this place. I had their vanilla shake and turtle sundae and it was delicious. It was a Friday night and the place was busy. They were adequately staffed so the orders came through fairly quickly. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the view from their outside seating areas. I would love to come to this place in the future if I happen to be in the area.

If you love burgers the size of your face or a wide assortment of frozen custard flavors, then Kopp’s Frozen Custard is your must-visit dining destination. With three venues located in nearby Greenfield, Greendale and Brookfield, Kopp’s extremely low prices, welcoming environment and successfully-defined niche makes it a place where any cold-hearted person can begin to feel warm. When it comes to classic diner food, Kopp’s gives you a bang for your buck, and for college students like myself, this is great news. The burgers were phenomenal, especially at under four dollars. Fried onions, pickles, tomatoes and other options are available to place on your burger, but the patties are so delicious that not much needs to be added. The cheerful employees and their white-clad uniforms – complete with hats – made the diner-style atmosphere all the more pleasant. Another delicious aspect of Kopp’s is the wild flavors they offer on a daily basis, which range from«Ooey Gooey Cake» to «Banana Walnut Chocolate Chunk.» I tried the frozen turtle custard. Instead of getting two scoops for $ 3.50, I decided to order a pint for only $ 4. I almost cried from pure joy as I ate the vanilla custard topped with large pecans, chocolate drizzle and salted caramel. The sweet and salty mixture of the ingredients within the custard not only satisfied my sweet tooth, but was extremely fulfilling and did not have me immediately yearning for a glass of water. Having also been to Milwaukee’s well-known Leon’s Custard and Gilles, I can say with confidence that I know good frozen custard when tasting it, and the turtle custard hit the spot. The Kopp’s location I visited was in Brookfield, which was not too far from campus. Each Kopp’s venue has its own distinct layout, and this particular spot had a large seating area with large windows surrounding customers. The sizes of Kopp’s give it a stark advantage over other custard places around the Milwaukee area. However, the seating area was somewhat inconvenient. There were mainly benches everywhere with no real tables around. This was a bit of an annoyance because having any frozen treat means it can melt, and the dish can become sticky, which is never fun. The seating area was also a bit dirty, which can be a turn-off when trying to consume any type of food. Despite these few issues with the seating area in Kopp’s, the food was spectacular. To anyone who frequents Baskin Robbins, Dairy Queen or any other similar place besides Kopp’s, you are doing yourself a disservice. The creaminess and freshness of Kopp’s frozen custard allows people to consume this treat easily. Frozen yogurt tends to melt extremely fast, while ice cream, mainly comprised of milk, turns into a liquid substance in a blink of an eye. With custard, your treat lasts longer because it is denser and handled differently than ice cream, as it is mixed for long periods of time before frozen. If beer is a main staple of Milwaukee, custard is in a close second. The city has the highest concentration of frozen custard spots per capita in the entire world. Of the main five custard spots in Milwaukee, Kopp’s counts for three, which makes a statement in itself. To understand what makes Kopp’s distinct from other well-known custard shops in Milwaukee, take a visit to one of their locations around the Greater Milwaukee area. For anyone who decides to explore Milwaukee for this frozen treat, just remember; If it ain’t Kopp’s, it ain’t custard.

This place was much larger than I expected. The uniforms the employees wore gave it an old fashion feeling. They have their system worked out, too. Grill orders on one side, ice cream on the other. Delicious ice cream!

What’s more Wisconsin than custard? Not much, truth be told. I mean, beer, brats, and the Packers all rank, certainly. But custard! I mean, heavens to Betsy, you guys… you can’t find it anywhere else in the country, generally-speaking.(For the uninitiated and the unaware, custard is like ice cream, only a thousand times more delicious, because a thousand times more calories.) Here’s more on the stuff if you’re interested or so inclined: Kopp’s is a name that ranks with the best of ‘em when it comes to Wisconsinities’/Milwaukeeans’ opinions of custard, and rightfully so. This stuff is sinfully sweet, deliciously decadent, and their flavors of the day(two, always!) generally own. I generally find myself avoiding Kopp’s save for on special occasions simply due to the caloric expenditure… it’s serious business, you guys. That said, sometimes it’s worth it. The burgers, the custard… I’m a serious fan of these spots. When found Koppsing, I’m normally at the Glendale location, as that seems the most convenient, but this one does too. I mean, it’s Kopp’s, you guys.

I really don’t understand the allure of Kopp’s. We dined here on a Sunday evening for the first time. The interior reminds me of a state fair building, bare bones, no soul. NONAPKINS in the lobby eating area? It’s messy state fair food. Ketchup packets that you have to ask for and not a pump station? We had a rude teenage employee talk shit about us because my wife questioned if her butterscotch was mistakenly caramel. The girl was nice to my wife and then proceeded to stare right at us and snicker and bitch to one of her pre-puberty coworkers. Hello! We’re ten gawd damn feet away from you. We can hear you. We can see you. We called the girl out on it — maybe you can get away with that sassy attitude at home and in band camp but that shit doesn’t roll with us. Bad tasting burgers — who actually thinks these burgers are good? My patty was ¼″ thick, gray, tasteless and greasy on a flat tasteless bun. Overall the burger tasted like cheap condiments and nothing more. CUSTARD: Is the custard great? Absolutely. CHANCEOFRETURN: 0⁄10
