What a terrible experience! We had been before for a Sunday brunch which was good so we tried it for a Thursday night family birthday dinner. The service was very slow and we were the ONLY people in the restaurant. The food was fine though in my opinion overpriced. It took 3 hours to serve our group of 10(including 4 children under 5 who definitely were out of patience). Everyone said their food was fine but the slow service and lack of customer service(we had to ask the manager to at least not charge us for the birthday boys dinner — really after we’ve been here for 3 hours) will ensure we never return again.

Upon the suggestion of one of our family members, we decided to try Maxwells for an after-funeral family dinner. Not the happiest occasion, but we all wanted a good meal. We also all deserved a good drink. To start, 2 members of our party of 15 were running late. The waitress decided it would be a better idea to ask us for a drink order AFTER they arrived instead of being inconvenienced by extra trips. We were in a separate room which was very strangely decorated. Vinyl table cloths to boot. Our server wanted to make sure the experience was«easiest for her» which I kid you not, I heard come out of her mouth at least three times. I ordered the grilled tuna expecting it to be Ahi Tuna and ordered it Rare. When I received my meal, the tuna was gray. The vegetables looked as if they’d come straight of a bag and the pilaf out of a box. Disappointing. Then I tried to cut into the tuna filet. It was so hard I needed a knife. I can’t say why I took a bite anyway.(OH: I was at a funeral since 10am and it was now 6pm and I was hungry!) I have NEVER sent back a whole meal before. This was inedible, not to mention barely hot. I pulled the waitress aside and told her the problem. She said they would«try again.» Later she came back to announce to me that the cooks told her it was«nearly impossible to cook the tuna to rare because the tuna is frozen.» WHA!!! The next version of my tuna arrived when everyone was almost done eating. Still well done and gray, but kind of edible this time. Ugh. Never. Ever. Going back. I’ll cut to the chase: Overpriced for the quality of food. Far-below average service(perhaps just her inexperience) Skip it. Definitely skip it.
