A girlfriend and I had lunch here today. I suggested this restaurant because I love the food and ambiance. We both had an amazing lunch and an amazing waitress, Danielle. I read positive reviews about the salmon and beet salad. Both were ridiculously delicious. My friend had the beer cheese soup and caprese flatbread which she loved. Although it was her first visit, she said she will be returning with her daughter. I love suggesting Parkside 23 to newbies because they all love it and can’t wait to return. Be sure to ask for a sweetie named Danielle. Bön appetite!

They did not give us a chance to dine with them. I called on Monday for a 6PM Thursday reservation for 8 people for our special 10 year Anniversary. Upon arrival, they told me that they did not have me down for a reservation and that they would have to check with the manager. The manager said I was not on their books and they made me feel like I was lying about calling in for a reservation on Monday. Apparently, it is their policy to not take reservations until the day of and that they would have never taken a Thursday reservation on a Monday… again, making me feel like I was lying about the whole thing. They clearly saw that I had my 3 kids and parents along to celebrate a nice dinner out and all they can offer us was the next available opening which was 45 minutes from now. Again, I have 3 hungry kids! They also said, they would«investigate» as to who would have taken my reservation on Monday. I wish they would have been more accommodating due to the circumstances and to not make me feel like I was at fault. The kids were disappointed when we left because they loved the atmosphere and the smell of the food and it was a treat to go out for dinner. I was disappointed too.

PS23 has never disappointed me for lunch. My only disappointment has been their pricing model for«extra» protein. Adding chicken to your mac and cheese will run you $ 7! Pricing aside, PS23 has some of the better lunch options in Brookfield. The seasonal risotto is always winner along with the pretzel crusted veal for the hungry diner. Their signature chicken dumpling soup I put on par with my homemade soup. Service typically is great; however, a few times when they get busy I have run into some slowness. For lunch you definitely want to make sure you have over an hour to leisurely dine. Also, they can get busy but you can normally get a table over lunch.

I had the stuffed acorn squash from their seasonal menu. Don’t get me wrong, it was amazing. However, their menu selection bothered me a bit. Given they advertise purchasing from local producers, having their own garden, and supporting sustainability, their menu is WAY too heavy on the meat and animal products. Eating meat and animal products is fine every once in a while in my book, but«sustainability» is not being supported if each of their meals centers around meat. Everything had bacon in it or everything had a slab of meat as the main item. I would strongly suggest they consider including more vegetarian/vegan options as people begin to realize the importance of decreasing animal product consumption to promote sustainability and health.

One of our favorite restaurants in the Brookfield/Milwaukee area! Great bar, amazing food and always friendly service. It is worth coming in for and planning to stay a while and trying new dishes. We love both menus and haven’t had one bad experience!

Excellent meal as always, but deplorable service in the bar area 9pm from Kayla and others. We were served water immediately after being seated. From there it went downhill. In an attempt over 10 minutes to get menus, one unnamed server stopped by and asked only one of the three of us if he wanted a drink, then walked away. Had to flag her down for menus. Once order was taken

One of the best meals I’ve had! I would definitely recommend the Stuffed Bell Pepper with risotto. It was delicious! Great atmosphere as well.

Great place for a date night or a night out with the kids. Fresh food that really hits the spot. PS23 is one of the better meals I’ve had since my recent move to Milwaukee. Try the creamed corn…

The killer menu and an awesome concept for a restaurant. The food is good and unique. The option of a seasonal menu is really cool. You not going to go wrong with most of stuff on this menu. I guess the only downside to this place is the crowd is a little posh but it’s worth dealing with for the food. The prices aren’t bad either. Make sure you check out the cream corn while you’re there.

Oh hello, Parkside 23. Don’t mind me; I’ll just be over here drooling on the menu you’ve provided me. Unilocal led us to PS23 for a recent celebration with friends and I couldn’t have been more pleased. SCENE: We didn’t have a reservation. Having never been out before, we called about 30 minutes out to determine if there’d be room for us… unfortunately the call ahead was for large parties(larger than our four). No big deal; we wanted to try it and figured the food was worth the wait. Upon arriving, we were directed to a table in the bar area and were seated right away. Nice! STARTERS: Drinks and the Caprese Flatbread. Yum city — oven-dried Roma tomatoes(my favorite kind of tomato) and a basil pesto made my taste buds sing. ENTREES: The cedar-plank salmon(5 stars) was out of sight. Tender and delicious… accompanied by a sweet potato/parsnip hash that had me thinking I’d commit multiple crimes for the opportunity to enjoy again. My dining partners enjoyed the seared tenderloin(5 stars), mac and cheese(4 stars) and a combo of the pork fries(3.5 stars) and Woodstone roasted shrimp(5 stars). The pork fries were somewhat of a letdown — very mushy overall, but they flavor of the pork and beer cheese was a redeemer. SERVICE: Friendly, but lost ½ star for lack of consistency. Drink glasses sat empty without a check-in for quite some time. Our server did explain she was new, so I chalk this up to inexperience. This would NOT keep me from dining here again. OVERALL: 4.5 stars. Would definitely return for one of their nightly specials(burger and beer, etc.). Just a phenomenal meal and experience all-around. Easily in my Top 10 for great meals in the Milwaukee/near-Milwaukee area.

Comfy, cozy, delicious goodness! Glad I finally made my trip to this farm-to-table destination. The space was warm and inviting and a jazz musician played while we ate(every Tuesday is Jazz Tuesday & they also have specials on other nights of the week including a burger and a beer deal on Mondays). Our table ordered the comfort food classics: pot pie and meatloaf. We both liked our dishes a lot — the pot pie crust was flakey and buttery, and the meatloaf was served with a twist as two meatloaf meatballs atop a fancy heap of mashed potatoes. One of my favorite parts was the seasonal sautéed vegetables they I ordered as my side — as a rule anything sitting in a pile of garlic butter is delicious! I also have to say the service was fantastic, super personable and informative for first-timers like ourselves. Since their menu is seasonal I’d love to go back in the winter and see what they cook up next!

Yay farm to table! Yay locally sourced! Showed up around 8:00pm on a Thursday night and they were full. No wait, but there were several large parties in the dining room and an event in the outside seating area. We were a little disappointed not to be able to sit outside on a gorgeous evening, but I guess the rehearsal dinner(?) people could have it… On a side-note, it was the absolutely perfect setting for a small dinner party like this. Sunset in the background and the old cemetery across the street even added some romance to it all. First impressions: Oh, how cute!(Walks inside) Oh. How strange. Décor is like a mashup of classic diner semi-circles and Old Country Buffet carpet. Lights are super dim. BUT… The food was awesome. We both opted for the braised short rib which was super tender and the sauce was rich, but not overwhelming. The creamed corn was amazing. Everyone here raves about the creamed corn and you will, too. I wish we had ordered a side of veggies but it was entirely too much food. Next time we go, we’ll get 2 smalls and an entrée to share. The service was friendly enough, but amateurish, like it was his first job as a server. The water glasses are small jelly glasses and we had to ask for them to be filled constantly. Our server did come by to check on us pretty frequently so we took those opportunities to remind him. And then he’d come over with a nearly empty carafe, walk away to get another almost empty carafe, and so on. That said, I’m looking forward to going back, trying some other dishes and sitting outside by the birds and old headstones.

First time here and didn’t know what to expect since the menu and description said«farm to table,» which always sounds nice in my opinion. Ambiance is great from the outside, looks like a clean and beautiful house in the country. The inside is a little supper club ish, but nothing to turn us away. Sat at the bar and had great service from Carter and Taylor. Ordered the Cobb salad, creamed corn, braised ragout, and chicken dumpling soup. The creamed corn was awesome– came out hot and the flavor was great. The braised ragout came out hot as well, which I love, but was missing something. Still good, nothing I would go out of my way to order again. Dumplings in the soup were made from Scratch which I appreciated, and the Cobb salad was served a little«supper club» or «cafeteria» style you could say. Don’t be afraid to add some flare here! Or maybe even chop it up. No one wants to take a bite of a piece of lettuce that’s as big as your head. Drinks were made strong which we appreciate, always. However– the wine list is less than mediocre. Someone who doesn’t drink could probably pick a better wine list. Our bartender said it was intentional; apparently Parkside 23 and Eddie Martinis used to be associated, and Martinis had a better wine list, and Parkside had a better beer list.(Which is true, their beer list is good.). But they have split their partnership with that company, so why not upgrade your wine list? Just a few thoughts. :) I’d come back for patio drinks any day.

Pork dries, yum! Flatbread, delicious! Brownie dessert, decadent. While visiting a friend in the area, she suggested this lovely place because she had heard great things. I was a little annoyed with the call ahead seating but once we had our table all of the troubles were gone. Our waitress was beyond great and that really goes a long way. We shared all three courses which left me quite content. I would suggest anything we got, especially the fries and dessert! I would suggest PS23 to anyone and will be back again!

Parkside 23 is incredible. I went here with my sister, so my review may slightly mimick hers. I will do my best to tailor my review to my individual experience as best as I can. The location is beautiful and easily accessible. The parking lot can be kind of a clusterf*ck, I would recommend going off hours to avoid some serious frustration here. The outdoor seating is very nice, if you are not unsettled by the view of the cemetery across the street(which I am not :)). The staff was wonderful. Very polite and well groomed individuals that seemed genuinely happy to see you. The food was epic. The creamed corn truly is one of a kind. It has this creamy, soft texture and a ridiculously well crafted spice. It hits you and it’s instantly warm and flavorful. The spice is bold but it never burns. It’s really very well done. The woodstone roasted shrimp was absolutely delicious. A perfectly unique flavor, extraordinarily tender, and in perfect portions. I will definitely be ordering this again. Like my sister said, the chicken dumpling soup was indeed very good, but it wasn’t special. It would be an excellent, homey dish to have on a cold evening The pretzel crusted veal was my favorite dish for the evening, mostly because I’m on a pretzel bun kick so this dish played right into my handicap. Dessert We had a chocolate/toffee custard dessert that was honestly, a little unsettling. It was WAY over salted, to the point of being inedible. The toffee came in a giant chunk instead of a crumble as I’d hoped. I made the mistake of dragging a bit of my ice cream through the caramel glaze they spread over the plate and was shocked by how salty it was. The bread pudding however was absolutely top notch and saved the entire dessert experience.

Found this place through Unilocal — thanks reviewers! I came during happy hour and had the chicken pot pie with greens and two craft beers. The tab was totally reasonable and the food was ah-maz-ing. The pot pie had pulled rotisserie chicken which I think made the dish. It was clearly freshly made and I couldn’t stop scarfing it even though it was burning my mouth! I appreciated the diverse craft beer menu and took the suggestions from the bartenders; all delish. I’d recommend this place to anyone. Especially on Tuesdays when they have love music!

Loved PS23. So glad that Unilocal exists — because without browsing these reviews, I never would have thought to try the creamed corn. But it was absolutely amazing. The leeks, poblanos and bacon lent richness, spiciness, and saltiness to the sweet corn for a fantastically balanced dish. My brother and I shared a few other dishes, and nothing disappointed — the woodstone roasted shrimp was some of the most delicious that I’ve ever had, with a great char on the outside of perfectly tender bites. The chicken dumpling soup was good, but not out of this world — simple, comforting, no complaints. The pretzel crusted veal was another hit for us. The pretzel crust has definitely improved since Rick R’s review, because it had a great, satisfying crunch to it, which is great because all restaurant’s should probably always be listening to Rick R :) The veal was tender and the pan sauce was rich and delicious. For dessert, if it’s available — get the bread pudding. It was wonderful. The pecans gave a great texture contrast, the cherries were tart and sweet, and the ice cream was cool and creamy. We also had a chocolate-based dessert that was decent, but not as awesome. Bread pudding for the win. My only complaint would be that I think the drink menu is priced a little high. In the $ 8 – 10 range, I would hope for a menu that boasted something more crafted than basic mixers. But I’m new to the Brookfield area, maybe that’s just how they roll out there ;)

I went here a last week as part of a work dinner and was blown away. I walked into the restaurant, and I was like, «Brookfield has places like these?!» For the record, most of the places that I go to when I am in the office are national chain restaurants which seems to be the majority of restaurants in the area. Parkside 23 is a «Farm to Table» restaurant with an actual farm. I had a taste of Wisconsin from the creamed corn, pork fries(I did not try, but they were ordered for the table — got rave reviews), and flatbreads. For my main course, I had the meatloaf. The ingredients were beyond fresh and the menu was well thought out. It really took me back to a traditional meatloaf with its ketchup-like glaze and mashed potatoes. I was too stuffed for dessert, but they had Sprecher’s ice cream floats. I would have totally had one if I did not feel like I would explode if I ate a wafer-thin mint. The service was good even though our server was a bit slow on refilling drinks. This was probably my favorite stop on my week-long odyssey in Brookfield, WI.

Farm to table… Farm and table* I’m a lover of food so 4 stars was difficult for me in that the food and service was great. Ok I actually just changed this to 5. Great service, great food and I can’t wait to visit late spring, summer, and fall. Their menu is reasonably priced, locally sourced, and there’s so many options to chose from. I was hoping more of a rustic ‘Farm to Table’ atmosphere but the carpeting and décor was that more of an Italian restaurant. Beet salad — fantastic. Recommendations, they should add a tad more goat cheese, I couldn’t get enough. Beer Battered Fish Fry — crispy, light, fresh, and fantastic. I won’t go to say this is a fish fry destination, it’s not but if you’re there on a Friday you won’t be disappointed. **As a plus the grilled vegetables were some of the better I’ve had in a while… Woodstone Fired Pork Roast — tender, medium, lathered in sauce and recommended by me. Add a little bacon a reduction of tomato and onion sauce over polenta and enjoy the perfect amount of food. Would I go back??? Yes. Will I… Absolutely!

A nice hidden gem off the beaten path ! They have there menu separated out into price categories. They have $ 8-$ 12 and $ 13-$ 18. They also have a sides menu and a seasonal menu. Their drink menu is quite extensive with a large amount of craft beer. Depending on your mood you can order as shared plates or individual meals. I’ve gone twice and ordered it both ways(when me and my boyfriend tried it out we ordered a bunch to share and we had a ton of leftovers). My personal suggestions are the pork fries, seared tenderloin, pot pie and the meatloaf! I love this place because their all about trying to keep their ingredients local, with the whole farm to table method ! Their meats are hormone and antibiotics free ! They have a nice patio as well I suggest taking advantage of in the summer.
