3.5 solid stars for Puzzle World. I spent quite a bit of money in this store last year during the Christmas season(ah, the joys of having a nephew and nieces), and a few things popped out at me right away. One one hand: YES! They have a ton of different puzzles and kits to choose from. Lots and lots of products on the shelves. I was a little overwhelmed when I walked in. On the other hand: There were a lot of repetitive puzzles and kits. Meaning: how many ‘make your own jewelry boxes’ can you offer? Or those volcano kits(just add baking powder and vinegar). There were many, many duplicates to choose from, in varying degrees of how much you’d like to spend, and varying difficulties. Also, their prices seem a little out of whack in comparison with other similar items at area stores. But since this is a store in my neighborhood, I didn’t mind paying a little bit extra. The staff was extremely helpful and more than willing to offer any questions, but honestly I was just a tad bit disappointed in some of their product offering. I was expecting more of a variety, as weird as it sounds with a store such as this one. It seemed like they had a wonderful selection of puzzle kits for younger kids and older kids, but not necessarily in the ‘tween’ range. I do realize this is probably a very hard range for people to buy for as a whole, so it’s not a defining thing for me. Maybe I came at the wrong time and missed a lot of their selection. Judging by the other reviews, I must have missed out. I do intend on going back, but I’ll definitely stick to my list. Also — if you don’t have kids — go after 6 – 7 pm, when the in-store traffic dies down a little bit and it’s easier to move around the store(without stepping on the rugrats).

WOW — that was my first impression entering this store for the first time. I had been by it so many times I couldn’t begin to count but have never stopped in. Went the other day with my friend and just couldn’t believe the amount of stuff they have. Besides the bazillion puzzles they offer, they have a whole other half of the store dedicated to children’s items. Arts, crafts, science, puzzles, you name it, they have it. Puzzles are on the pricey side for my taste but they are very nice and they are definitely challenging if you like that kind of thing. Very cool, will go again.
