They know the Guinness pour. This is a big deal when you’ve been to Dublin and become obssessed with Guinness but only when it is served perfectly. Call it silly, but it makes a big difference! Came during a Blackhawks game and for the burbs, it was poppin’. Lots of TVs, beer/food specials and promo girls giving out samples. I had a grilled salmon and when staff accidentally bumped into my table, tipping over my drink on my food, they prepared me a new dish in the blink of an eye and got me a fresh drink. Hubby had wings and a bourbon burger, as they had a crazy $ 2 deal. He said it was delish, especially for the price. Service was phenom from beginning to end. While my food was just ok, I would definitely come back, especially for some Guinness ;).

I know I came to this bar once, maybe 5 years or more ago, and I’m glad I’ve returned. I can guarantee I won’t wait another 5 years to go back again! We came in on a Saturday afternoon for some lunch and a beer. We sat at the bar as to not compromise service(it was pretty empty, we didn’t want to make the bartender do extra work for us). The bartender was a really nice guy, and gave the perfect amount of attentiveness. He provided us with a beer and food menus, and I always appreciate when a bar actually has a beer list. The only reason this place lost a star for me was because what was on the bottle list wasn’t accurate to their actual inventory– my first choice wasn’t available, and my guy found a craft beer later in the fridges that wasn’t on the menu. If you’re indecisive, as I can be, I really get thrown for a loop when my choice isn’t available. Otherwise, the experience was great– all beer served was perfectly chilled! Beer prices were on point and reasonable. This place is definitely Irish– they have Guinness, Smithwicks, and Kilkenny(?) Irish red ale on tap and a solid collection of Irish Whiskeys to choose from(along with all the regular American one’s too). I’ll have to see if they make an Irish Mule next time! We ordered lunch– I had the turkey club with chips, my guy had a chicken sandwich with fries. My food portion was HUGE! The sandwich was a double decker, and had a good balance of ingredients– turkey, bacon, avocado, mayo, cheese… YUM! I could only eat half. The chips were warm and seemingly house made, and not greasy. They needed a bit of salt, which was no biggie. I took both half the sandwich and half the chips and it was more than enough for a second meal. The best part was the price… $ 8.50 for two meals! My guy really liked his chicken sandwich too. They use a thinner cutlet for the meat, which he really enjoyed. I tried one of his fries and liked them too. This place is welcoming to families(during the day, at least) and I saw a variety of ages come through for lunch that day. It was nice to see! We had a nice experience here. I think the total damage for 4 beers and two meals was around $ 42 or so, which didn’t feel bad at all. We will be back!

My wfie, 3yo, and I stopped by here on a sunny Saturday for lunch in late April. The beer was great and ice cold! The food was above average. We will be back to try more of the Irish dishes!

We have been here on many pub crawls. Great service, wide selection beers and whiskies. Their food is also excellent. A cozy fireplace, loyal patrons and a welcoming bar make Ryan’s a must if looking for a great neighborhood bar in Brookfield.

Had the pleasure of sitting by the fire enjoying a meal with my husband for my birthday at this cozy authentic Irish pub. We had corned beef sandwiches which were so delish, I barely could wolf it down fast enough. Mine had sauerkraut which was yummy. Great neighborhood place with lots of character. TVs to watch sports and great oldies playing in the background. Wait staff could not have been better. Thanks Shane. Will be back

I come here because it is the only Irish pub in the area that serves Kilkenny. The food options are also very good!

Best oat sodas in the neighborhood. Beautiful bartenders and if I may be frank… The best smelling men’s room I’ve ever been in.

I can’t really add much that the other reviewers haven’t already said better: great little bar, good food, decent drinks. I was pleasantly surprised with this«hidden gem» and had a great time watching the game there. Some people brought in board games to play at their table, pretty cool idea. Beware, the food smells so good you’ll be tempted to order! We ordered the loaded fries & they were great. The service was also good, the bartender was very attentive.

When I’m in Brookfield, I always stop at Ryan’s. My dad owns a repair shop next door, so it’s always a favorite when I’m in the area. We decided to stop in one afternoon after checking in on the shop. It was a warm afternoon, so a cold one was in order. Ryan’s is a warm cozy place for great beer and exceptional food. We stopped in and took a seat at the bar. We were immediately Served with an ice cold beer of our choice. On tap, of course. Ryan’s offers a wide selection of swill and craft beer. We always choose the craft beer, as we actually have tastebuds and appreciation for a good beer. As we settled in, we decided to order up some food. We started with the corned beef bites. If you’ve never been to Ryan’s, you must start off with the corned beef bites. Tender and tasty corned beef served on marbled rye bread with melty cheese and a side of horseradish sauce. They’re bursting with flavor and melt in your mouth. After another beer, ordered a second order. Their corned beef is hands down, the best in the area. Service here is excellent and the bar tender is always happy to engage in conversation. Your glass will never go empty here. They have a cozy, private beer garden out back if you like sitting outside. Normally, we would sit out there, but it was too hot for that. Whenever I’m in Brookfield, this is my go to place for great food, service, and an ice cold craft beer!

It is a great place! Friendly staff and great food! I would say that not kid friendly as there was no kids menus. But they did accommodate our 2 and 9 year old!

LOVE Ryan’s! It’s my favorite place in the area, and lucky for me it’s also a block from my house. They have really great drink and food specials, which put prices at other bars to shame. I like to go there on Tuesdays especially for their half price reubens, which are the best I’ve ever had. Their staff is just the best. They’re all super friendly, and never give us a hard time about splitting checks. I feel like I’ve talked with all of the employees at Ryan’s, and they’re the best part about going to there. Just great people to strike up a conversation with. Also, be sure to check out their adorable beer garden on the side. They’ll keep bringing you drinks out there, so it’s a great place to talk with friends for hours. :D Is should also mention that they host events. My company went there last minute for a party when our outdoor event got rained on, and Ryan’s was very accommodating. All 50 of us filled the front room, back room and beer garden, but we had a great time. Ryan’s also let us cater our own food and set up tables for that.

Decided to stay local for a few brewski’s and burgers. Monday is $ 2.50 domestics and ½ price burgers. The hubbs ordered the blue cheese and bacon and I had the bbq burger with onion rings on top. The fries are $ 1.50 extra on half price burger night. That’s ok cuz the potato salad(not extra) was delish. I paid the extra $ 1.50 for mine but the hubbs had the pot salad. Couldn’t possibly eat the fries because the burger was so big. Dinner was around $ 17 including 2 domestics. Will definitely go back. I love Ryan’s because the beer garden is so nice and has a relaxing fountain. Will definitely be back.

We went to Ryan’s last year, and the distance and competition were the only detractors to returning. Looking to find a place to watch the USA game last Sunday, and having a discount voucher from some online site, we went to Ryan’s. We sat at the bar, and ordered drinks and appetizers. The chicken tenders came with hot sauce on the side and were very good. The corned beef bites were ok… basically good corned beef on white toast with Swiss cheese melted on top. But what makes this experience five stars are the great beer and cider choices and the people. Several craft beers(in cans and bottles) were available, and Rosa was on tap! The service was terrific… Amanda was cheerful and efficient with a full bar. The patrons immediately greeted us when we came in, and kept up conversation about the U.S. Team and the U.S. In general.(This truly is an Irish bar… the owner and many of the locals are from Ireland.) Our coupon was honored, no problems, and though the game was a draw, we had a fun Sunday. We will be back, for sure!

For the past six weeks Ryan’s hasn’t been serving their full menu. They claim the kitchen is being remodeled. For the first three or four weeks they didn’t serve any food. Before I got hung up on tonight by the waitress she told me that they started to serve fried foods. I’ve been there on two different occasions when two different guys got locked in the men’s bathroom because their door was faulty and the owner had to come and let them out. The tall male bartender is the owners son. If he’s there expect to get little or no service. As far as the kitchen being closed I can only speculate. It’s a shame because their shepherds pie is delicious. I’ve waited the past six weeks to post about this because I wanted to see what was going to happen. So long Ryans! Thanks for the line of bs in my opinion. You guys are hacks.

I stopped by this place by chance last night and I really loved it here. So I came back to this bar tonight, only to be disappointed by their jukebox. Don’t bother with it because it will steal your money. I payed for a few Rolling Stones songs and after an hour of waiting I never heard them played. I went back to the jukebox thinking there may have been a mistake and payed for four songs, to be played before a line of songs, but by the time the jukebox played them was time for me to leave. I really want to believe that maybe I had some bad luck and maybe jukeboxes in Illinois bars are bad, but I would have rather spent that money on the bar and not their jukebox. Otherwise this place is cozy like the reviews say and a comfortable place to grab some drinks. Just don’t spend money on the jukebox.

Really pleased to have this place so near to home. Food is great, space is cozy and comfortable. I love that it has a fireplace, and try to go at off hours, to insure a seat next to it. Kid friendly enough for my teens to enjoy, too, we always have a great time dining here. Never noticed the service being slow, but maybe thats because we are never in a hurry when we come in to sit, eat and talk. It’s a homey place that way. And why we come back.

Unlike other reviews I found the service fantastic. I was forewarned some duked out waitress $ 5 off the top. Worked, as always, like a charm. Mom’s hamburger passed the test, but no fireworks. My corned beed sandwich was 4th of July good. The wifi password is skinnydip. A real keeper, ambiance is welcoming. Highly recommended!

Had a meeting with some folks and we decided to give Ryan’s a try. My first time here. Initial impressions… Divey local hangout. All the trappings of an Irish Pub. All employees have an Irish accent. Kinda cool. Nice beer selection. Was pleasantly surprised that they had bottles of Flying Dog’s Raging Bitch beer. One of my fav’s. Service was really slow. They were a bit understaffed. Had to wait 5 minutes to get our drinks ordered. Place was only half full, too. Ordered the Philly cheese steak. Not too bad. I do see why people like it. Quaint little local pub, friendly, decent food, good beer. Give it a go. Cheers!
