This place has got it going on! It’s no fuss, delicious, and cheap Mexican food! They have daily specials that’ll save you even more, too! We went on a Thursday. My guy got a steak burrito($ 4.55), I opted for the special of the day– the torta for $ 3.49, and we also bought some chips and salsa $ 2.50). Basically all forms of food are served with meat, beans, lettuce, tomato, sour cream and cheese, but you can easily remove whatever you want. Both ‘entrée’ items were pretty big, and had a good balance of all ingredients. I really enjoyed my sandwich, and my guy lapped up his burrito pretty quickly too! The chips and salsa were really good! The salsa is more liquidy but packed with savory flavor and a good amount of heat. Our dinner total was just a bit over $ 10(before tip), which is a fantastic deal to feed two people. We will definitely be back… I want to try their tacos(0.94 on Tuesday!), nachos, and so on, and so forth. **the inside is pretty small with just a few tables, and 1 – 2 picnic tables outside along Ogden. This is more of a take it to go place, in my opinion.**

Just moved the area and tried a handful of local mexican places and so far taco stop wins! Nice soft tortillas, not greasy. Tacos are small but filled very full(my fav is the veggie) and the flan is delicious and homemade unlike some others in the area.

I Love Taco Stop! Very good authentic Mexican restaurant with great prices. Taco Stop has great burritos and tacos. I usually get carry out but there are several tables in this very clean well maintained restaurant. Since the new owners took over about three or four years ago Taco Stop has been very good.

OMG The best soft shell steak tacos I have ever eaten! I keep wanting to try their other food but I cannot resist the tacos. Absolutely delicious. And only $ 1 every Taco Tuesday!

Great local taco joint. Clean, cheap, authentic, everything you could want in a carry out taco place. There are tables and chairs but we usually get ours to go. They will gladly make tacos de gringo(tomato, cheese, lettuce) or tacos mexicanos(cilantro and onion). I’ve also tried their sopes which are also tasty. They make everything to order so it can take a little while but it is worth the wait and service is always friendly. Salsas are actually spicy. Check it out.

The BEST Mexican food ever. We order from TS2 – 3 times a week. I love their ground beef burritos without lettuce. It’s made to perfection. Good size, tasty dough. So far, every meal we’ve ordered from TS was excellent. Tacos, Enchiladas, Quesadillas, Tamali’s and more, Great prices, too. Owners are wonderful people and very helpful.

I had the chiliquiles and they were excellent and full of flavor. Very friendly owner who clearly takes pride in her food. I will definitely be going back.

We found this place 7 years ago, and thought we were the luckiest people in the world to have such fresh, delicious Mexican food so close to home. Then it was under different management, which didn’t hold a candle to it’s former owners.(that’s putting it mildly, their food was atrocious…) On a whim 7 years later something made us try this place again, and are we glad we did! Ironically enough, the old owners were back, and brought with them the most appetizing, tasty Mexican food you can have without visiting Mexico itself, back! Amazing! What were the odds? Try everything there, it’s all delicious. We are fond of the chicken tacos and chicken burritos.(the chicken is white meat, and super tender.) We also get the veggie tacos and the chile rellenos taco.(to die for!) Do yourself a favor and disregard the negative reviews, cause they are from the former management. Once you try it, it’ll be your go to place for sure! Family run, amazing food, great price!(It’s a win-win-win!)

Taco Tuesdays! 94 cent tacos in my neighborhood. Decent option for an easy on the go fix. Nice people running the place. Do it.

Park around the corner. Seriously, it’s worth it. It’s a shame the new, amazing owners are stuck with the old reviews to deal with, because this place is incredible. The bold, authentic flavors make this place stand head and shoulders above the other Mexican places down the block. The chicken taco is the best I’ve had in Chicagoland, no lie. We tried one of every one of the tacos, and loved every single succulent bite. They cleaned the place up, and they’re making much better food than the last owners. Seriously, I feel super lucky to have this place right down the street. Hanging out at Galloping Ghost? Come here for tacos. Need burrito monday or Taco Tuesday? Come here. I can’t say enough good things about this place.

I miss this place so much. The chicken burrito suizo is to die for! Just heavenly! The owner is super nice! He was always working and always took time to chat with us! I wish they were still here! I think they moved. :(

No, just no! Tried the quesadilla. It was nothing to write home about. I can’t even say it was decent. They got my order wrong, on top of everything else. Even if they got it right, I would still give them 1 star. Never again… stop somewhere else.

Just a heads up — this place looks like it has closed down. The windows are covered in boxes…

Ok, so why drop a star? Because of the attitude of the owner. This place in Brookfield is leaving and the owner makes no bones about how ticked off he is that he wasn’t successful in Brookfield. That’s all you hear when you walk in now. I know the business is going, it might already be gone as far as I know, but where the food was good and I’ll miss it. I won’t miss the attitude of the owner. Hey, I’m sorry it didn’t work out, but don’t take it out on the people who are still coming in to see you. He’s going somewhere by the Cook County Jail and I honestly hope he makes it, but if he keeps up the attitude he’ll be hard pressed to no matter how good the pork tacos are… and they are damn good.

Stopped in as I just happened to be driving by, hungry. Parking was breazy even though they are on Ogden which is busy here. Owner was extremely gracious and after finding out it was my first time in offered to let me taste a few things. Food was excellent for this category of restaurant. If you are looking for good standard Mexican food,(taco’s, burrito’s etc.) I rank this one high. Prices extremely reasonable, quick friendly service. It’s refreshing to see people passionate about what they do, and the owner clearly is. I will stop in again. They also do catering which i would definitely consider if I was going for a mexican themed event.

Two words for you folks: Taco Tuesdays!!! For up to 10 tacos per order/person the cost per taco is only $ 0.89. That is right– for less than $ 10.00 after tax– you can get 10 tacos– any style you want! My suggestions are their carne asada, but their lengua(tongue) is pretty good, and their al pastor(marinated pork) is decent as well. This alone would normally warrant a 5-star review, but from what I found, the place can be hit or miss sometimes. I’ve gone to pick up after 6:00PM on Tuesdays and have been told that they are out of many types of meat. The man who owns/runs the place is actually really nice if you get a chance to talk with him. The rest of the people there can be a bit cold– but then again– it doesn’t really matter that much considering it is just a little taco joint in Brookfield. Definitely a takeout place, but pretty solid options for tacos– and their menu covers a lot of other things too– including some traditional caldos(soups) and stews. I think I saw pozole on the menu once. If you are from Brookfield, this is your best local option for Mexican, unless you are willing to drive down Ogden or Cermak east all the way into Berwyn and Cicero.
