Simple southern food. Great service. Had the grilled pork chop, mashed potatoes with gravy, collards and stewed tomatoes. All very good.

Best breakfast hands down! You can tell it’s home made, we’ve never had anything that wasn’t top notch! Lunch and dinner are equally good, but the breakfast is why we happily drive 24 miles to come here each week! The epitome of Southern dining.

Excellent! Stopped by while traveling & looked on Unilocal for ideas off I-16. I’m SO glad we chose this place. Had the best fried pickles I’ve ever had. My son & I had the philly cheese steak with sweet potato fries. YUM! Hubby had the burger. Said it was amazing too! Will definitely come back!!! The service was excellent and pleasant.

I found a Waffle House on the gps and was headed there. We saw this restaurant on the way and decided to give it a try, good move. Very good breakfast. Staff was very friendly. I will eat here again when passing through.

Wildly mediocre food. Everyone around here raves about this place because they’ve never learned to cook, nor have they been outside of Georgia. Save your money and eat elsewhere. Don’t eat at Gators either.

Amazing! Well worth the drive from Atlanta! Fried grouper, fried chicken, barbeque and hushpuppies the highlight of the day!

Great to find a locally owned small business to support. The host was an absolute delight and the breakfast was delicious. Stop if you are in the area!

Drove for a lot of miles today until we found this place that was open. Great breakfast place. You have to try the biscuits and gravy. It really is made here and you can tell because the gravy has these chunks of sausage. The hash browns were real good but the wifey had the loaded hash browns. A huge plate of hash browns with just about every thing you can imagine ham, veggies, bacon EVERYTHING.

This is by far the best breakfast I have had in a long time. It’s sad to see so many mom n pop places disappear. This is my new favorite place to eat breakfast in a 60 mile radius. The biscuits are the best I have ever tried. Can’t wait to try lunch and dinner here. I will be back.

Awesome southern food. Prices were reasonable and portions were generous without being way too big. Still, with salad, a roll, my meal(popcorn shrimp and zipper peas and Texas toast), I took half of my shrimp to go. Clean, quick, and comfortable. It was nice how all friendly the servers and owners were. Next time we go to savannah or hilton head I’ll be back!

I have been there three times… I am not feeling it. The food is kind of pricey for comfort food that not as good as other places.

After reading the Unilocal reviews we tried dinner at this place. There was a large group in the banquet hall and our service suffered. I had a sirloin steak that was ok, not great. My dinner companions had seafood platter that was again, ok not great. Service was slow, I was brought the wrong check, the waitress was nice but not attentive. I tried to dress the steak with A1sauce but was brought an empty bottle. Bottom line is the food was edible, but not great.

The restaurant isn’t fancy, but the food is pure southern deliciousness. I love southern food. I have strong southern roots, so I know good southern food from bad southern food. Most of the southern restaurants that are located off the interstate usually served canned and packaged products. Bay South is the real thing. I ordered fish with squash casserole, mac and cheese and cornbread. My companion ordered pork chops with squash casserole, field peas and a dinner roll. The squash casserole was so delicious. The mac and cheese was way above average and the catfish was cooked perfectly. The tea was great. My only complaint is that the cornbread was way too sweet. It is illegal to add sugar to cornbread in Alabama(my home state). We entered the restaurant at 1:30 on a Sunday and it was pretty packed. We were still seated quickly though and service was perfect. I can’t wait for my next trip to south Georgia so I can stop at Bay South for lunch.

Amazing food and value! My whole family enjoyed every bite. Best fried chicken I’ve had in years. We were bummed that there was no cobbler available the day we stopped so have some for me when you try this place out. You will not be disappointed. Bay South is what southern food and hospitality are all about.

I pulled off the interstate hoping to find a privately owned restaurant with a «meat and three» menu, and there was Bay South. It’s as good as they get. I ordered country fried steak with green beans, macaroni and cheese and corn bread. Everything was perfect, except the corn bread is a little sweet and I prefer corn and grease tasting corn bread instead of sweet. I enjoyed hearing the conversations of the old timers around me, who were obviously regulars. The place is clean and comfortable, the service is excellent, and the pricing is very reasonable.

Stumbling here by chance on the way back to Atlanta from Savannah, my friends and I were showered with this«Southern Hospitality» people seem to be going gaga over. The environment had a really cozy feel to it and was very quaint. The waitresses were extremely nice and very prompt with our orders; and also patient, considering me and my friends’ somewhat foolish behaviors. The food selection is what some may call«southern» and it is hands down delicious! The fried chicken was awesome as well as the macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes. The cole slaw was a refreshing side along with a $ 1.99 salad bar upgrade that you can add to any meal. The prices for the a main course with three sides were no more than $ 10 which was mind-blowing. If you’re looking a for a fantastic southern restaurant with authentic«southern» cooking and Southern Hospitality, this is the place for you! And the cornbread… oh, the cornbread!
