Best coffee experience in Brookline Village. Great variety of coffee and tea. I would recommend trying one of the«exotic lattes». They have red chili, mint matcha, and London fog among others. I’d recommend the mint matcha! Sandwich and pastry options too. Everything is fresh. In the summer they put tables out on the sidewalk for outdoor seating. And the inside has an eclectic vibe. Warning that there is no wifi, few outlets and the bathroom is a little hard to get to. So it’s maybe not the best spot for long study sessions. Also, not open Sunday’s. Otherwise, give it a try!

Love, love, love Kookoo Café! Just a quick hop off the D line for a warm and helpful staff, funky and fun atmosphere, and great tasting coffee! It was warm the other day, so my friend and I sat outside and enjoyed an iced cold brew coffee and an iced mocha. The owner stopped by as we were sitting there to say hi and ask us if we needed anything – he even carried our empty cups back in for us! 10⁄10 would go back.

This place is adorable and has a lot of charm! The coffee is good and the baked treats are fresh and bountiful! Finding the bathroom in this place is such an adventure… Try to visit it’s like a maze.

They use George Howell Beans for their espresso drinks– YUM! The space is in the cozy grungy style of coffee shops from a decade or two ago. Can be super comfy but also cramped or dark. They have a table or two on the sidewalk when the weather is nice.

Nice local place with a pleasant ambiance, art and good service. I had a mushroom soup which was ok. The mushrooms tasted as if they came from a can. Overall, I liked the atmosphere and will consider coming back to try a differ dish.

It takes them forever to make my food here. I ordered a bagel and a coffee from them and they totally forgot my order. I waited for about 20 mins for a bagel and a coffee. I even saw few people who came in after me enjoying their food in the restaurant. I spoke to the lady in the kitchen about my order. She claimed that they were still making my order. Then I asked her does it really take that long to pour a cup of coffee they already brewed into a cup? And then she immediately pour the coffee into a cup for me. Obviously she forgot about my order! I would not recommend this restaurant and I would never come back until they know customer like me doesn’t have so much time to wait for a bagel. I rather go to Starbucks and get a bagel in few seconds.

Small café exploding in charm! My wife too loved it. We ordered cappuccino and café latte, both were very good, it had been a long time since I had such good café latte. The almond croissant was also nice, my wife liked it so much she almost ate it all :-)

Fun and funky, yo. Plenty of gluten-free baked options — behind the glass and pre-packaged(typically local makers) — along with the vegan, low-processed, and most other hippie-dippie food genres. Genres which I adore, mind you. What drew me in, and left me more than satisfied, is the cold brew coffee($ 4 – 4.50) made with George Howell roast. It simply phenomenal, with all the right notes highlighted and nary a bitter, burnt or otherwise unpleasant taste to grace your palate. So delightful, I kind of regret getting a splash of whole milk, as it would have been the very first cold brew I’d have sipped sans dairy. Super smooth. I’d call Kookoo a bit pricey and worth it. I’d call the staff«rad.» I’d call George Howell, and thank him. I’d call me, maybe. I’d call.

Coffee is strong and good, baked goods are tasty, and their breakfast sandwiches are delightful. Sit outside on the sidewalk or enjoy the cute indoor space. There are toys and books in back for little kids, and the staff are wonderfully accomodating for families. We wanted to sit outside with a group of four plus a high chair, and they rearranged tables and brought out the chair for us. The owner is usually around chatting and keeping an eye on things. I just wish it were also open on Sunday so I could go more frequently!

Thank you! Now this is a cappuccino. Small and funky, the scones are the real deal, the oatmeal cookies clearly homemde and there’s wifi. But most of all, excellent cappuccino and I can tell the espresso is excellent. I would be in here every day if I lived in the Boston area.

This is right across from the green line D train station & is pretty small but also cute. They are super friendly & have some good veg*n options which is great. Their food lineup is listed on a chalkboard on one wall & the drinks are on the other one. I didn’t understand the difference between some of their roll-up sandwiches but pretty basic ingredients I guess.

A different kind of café. Their coffees are good and their Chai is pretty legit. The venue inside is quirky, with tons of interesting trinkets. Their pastries are OK, not great. The noise level is low and it’s a relaxing place, in a relaxing neighborhood.

The comfy, cozy, homey, artistic ambiance makes this THE destination for feel-good conversations over a cup of coffee; a Saturday lunch reading to your kiddies while enjoying sandwiches with wholesome ingredients; or a reading the paper with a cup of pomegranate iced tea. This«all natural, vegetarian(ish), fair trade, hole-in-the-wall, friendly neighborhood coffee shop» is not optimized for speed but its feel good vibes, personalized service and quality food/bev make it a repeat location.

Love love love. Try the breakfast kookoo wrap. Such a unique and different taste. Prices are super reasonable considering it’s a fresh organic spot. Also a great atmosphere, just wish they had some more seating especially at rush commute times since the train is across the street. Otherwise a much better choice then your regular Dunkin or Starbucks.

Went in for a quick to go coffee and light breakfast and was very pleased. I was traveling on business but you would never know that i was an out of towner. The service was excellent — prompt and kind. The coffee was good — light roast americano and the bagel was standard. Super cute shop that if I had more time would make for a quaint«for here» cappuccino.

The food is consistently good and the service is consistently inconsistent. Although, why should I expect Dunkin speeds from the all natural, vegetarian(ish), fair trade, hole-in-the-wall, friendly neighborhood coffee shop? My bad! The staff is always super smiley and eager to help you which makes up for the sometimes long wait for food. And hey, at least your coffee/tea will be ready in a jiffy so you can enjoy it while you wait! The hot & cold beverage list is robust, with all kinds of blends and roasts and leaves I’ve never heard of but I imagine are quite good. They even offer up some basic fruit smoothies! The pastries in the display case are every bit as good as they look. Croissants(plain, chocolate, almond), scones(blueberry, chocolate, cran, maybe even a pear/apple), muffins, baklava and so much more. Not to mention a plethora of gluten free packaged goodies to grab & go. Also of the grab & go variety, apples, bananas, pears, kettle cooked potato chips, juices. On to the savory, I’ve enjoyed just about everything I’ve tried here. For breakfast, I love the Green Egg & Cheese on a wrap(sans mustard sauce). The bagels are only fair so I opt for the wrap. At lunch, try the tuna & brie(flavor boost: add avocado) on 7-grain or the Greek salad with a scoop of tuna. Or perhaps you’re in the mood for more of a Mediterranean dish? Try the Sabzee or the Falafel rollup. The falafel can be dry, but still tasty. Not the best I’ve had, but certainly not the worst. All in all, Kookoo is a great option for a local coffee shop. Gripes: wait time(as previously mentioned), cramped entryway, and lack of a website. Technically, they have a website. But it’s been«under construction» for at least the 5 years I’ve been coming here. To check out the menu ahead of time, use menupages instead.

I live in Seattle and was visiting for a weekend and I made the mistake of getting one of their chocolate chip cookies. A mistake because now I’m craving them from across the country! They had the perfect balance of chocolate chips and cookie, were perfectly moist(not too flaky, not too buttery), and the staff were so friendly. I am counting down the days until I can visit again.

Visit 2 to Kookoo was just as enjoyable as the first. Staff adeptly dealt with the line that was trailing out the door– not that they were bubbly and making fantastic eye contact, but they did their job. They were out of 2 of the 4 soups, but still had them listed on the menu board, which seemed cruel. The order was delivered correctly within 10 minutes. Butternut squash soup was alright; warm and well seasoned, but the«baguette» was actually just 3 measly thin slices of a breadstick. The killer tuna(?) sandwich was the winner with horseradish and crunchy veggies. The brownie was fudgy and delightful.
