If you are a fan of roasted peppers, lard bread, fresh mutz and chicken cutlets then you need to come here for these things. A & S has the best lard bread and it goes so good with their delicious roasted peppers. I love the garlic in the roasted peppers and let’s face it, the roasted peppers in the jars in the water are not even close in quality as compared to the pork store made roasted peppers. The fried cutlets with roasted peppers and fresh mutz hero is amazing and goes great with a bottle of manhattan special which they sell as well. If you are ever in their area, pull over and give them a try.

Good sandwiches but pricey. They can make a sandwich here but you have to be really hungry because they load it up well

I went to this store the other day and bought their cold cut bread & meat filled rice balls wooooow is all I can say. I look for places in Brooklyn that sell special breads & specialty italian pre made foods this place is awesome I will be back this week for sure. Highly recommend this place.

According to my Unilocal Check-Ins, I’ve only been to A&S one time. The truth is, I’ve been here dozens of times. This was one of the first places I went to in NYC, and I frequently visit on weekends around the holidays. A&S is what every great neighborhood needs. A proper Pork Store. A&S is renowned for their fresh meat and anti paste. I’ve regularly gone here with my in laws for Easter, Christmas, and just to get proper Italian food. This is what Eataly wishes it could be, and it’s located way in south Brooklyn. Around the holidays it can get busy, but it’s so worth it. The guys here are the best!

Porchuitto is as authentic as it gets here. They carry both domestic and imported. I personally like domestic better since its more salty but the real foodies die for the imported. Worth it to try both. Ive also recently learned that they have amazing ready food dishes, ranging from lemon grilled shrimp, various style fish filet dishes and the cutlet hero I got here 2 weeks ago was also really good. This store has been here for 20+ years that Ive lived in this neighborhood and went to elementary school across the street glad I finally started shopping here after so many years.

Great cold cut sandwiches here as well as freshly-prepared chicken parm! With reasonably priced meats, cheeses, prepared foods and various Italian products, A&S is definitely the place to go.

I’ve been using A & S for years, but Joseph & his guys really blew us away with the catering job they did for us Memorial Day weekend. I told Joseph how many people we were having and what I wanted and he worked it all out. No leftovers! The food was delicious, presentation was great and the fact that I won’t be eating leftovers all week is a BONUS!

Get all my daily fresh cold cuts and meat products and they do not disappoint! Always fresh ground beef for when I want to make spicy chili for the bf. They get 5 stars from me because the key food in the neighborhood never has fresh ground beef and if it wasn’t for this place, my bf would go hungry!

Great old school butcher shop with the best fresh mozzarella I’ve ever tasted. Come there during lunch hour to try their delicious home made Italian appetizers and entres. The Chicken Parmesan is amazing. Dont forget to get some of their home made roast beef as well. This place blows meats supreme away. I’d give it 5 stars if their prices were just a bit lower. However their quality is amazing and I don’t mind paying their prices.

Was walking by and loved the old-school sign out front, so I popped my head in for a look. Glad I did. It’s very similar to a lot of the more well known Italian butchers in Brooklyn, but I think their selection is larger — especially when it comes to meal-ready side dishes and mains. Platter after platter of food makes you wish this was an Italian wedding so you could try them all for free… fish, chicken, pasta dishes, vegetable medleys, stuffed mushrooms, etc. I got a heaping bowl of calamari in red sauce for dinner for $ 9/lb. In the back there’s a room full of fellows, cranking out food, bread, cheeses, etc. I’m jealous I don’t live nearby, but then again it’s probably better as I’d look like Luciano Pavarotti after a few weeks(as in corpulent, not pushing up the daisies).

The best. We buy their food and bring it home to California. My wife grew up going there and we still use them for many holidays and parties when we are in Brooklyn. Just awesome.
