I had an almond latte, which is one of the best I’ve had in Brooklyn. There are great photos on the walls, and I was impressed by the music playlist. What else can I say about s coffee place? I strongly recommend Absolute coffee when you’re in downtown Brooklyn.

As a returning native Newyorker who lived out-of-state for most of my 20’s and 30’s, there are several things I’m trying to work out after moving back here a few months ago. Being in my early 20’s before I left, I simply had no need for certain things. One of those things, — as a coffee enthusiast and a one-time barista –, is where to buy the beans for my ritual morning grind. My partner and I have tried several places, such as Java Girl, and the famous Porto Rico Importers and Brooklyn Roasting Co. and while we enjoy the good beans found at some of these locations, they are nothing quite like the caliber of the coffee beans found at Absolute Coffee. The shop seems hip and vibrant while not being loud and/or generic feeling. I wouldn’t call it homey or comfy per se but I do definitely appreciate the clean fresh feeling interior. The beans however, the coffee itself, is the noteworthy topic of discussion here. For starters, Absolute Coffee roasts all of their coffees to a medium; typically I need to search far and wide for medium roasts or at very least, my options are seriously limited and I often need to blend blonds and darks to balance it. Their selection of Coffees are not what you’d expect, there is no sign of any of the typically stocked coffees or the generic selections you’d expect to find at other coffee shops. Nor are the shelves dominated by proprietary house blends as you tend to find in most of the hipster/artesian small coffee shops. Of course just by looking at the packaging you’d think the coffee was roasted and distributed by some major manufacturer, beautifully vacuum packed packages that would typically be offensively generic-seeming if you didn’t know more about their origin. Whether he/they are owner operators or just very engaged and knowledgable barista’s, the people behind the counter are incredibly helpful and informed about the coffees and can describe their flavor-profiles and comparability articulately. While the prices on some of the beans are 2 or 3 dollars higher than other places, I would gladly pay that or even more than that for coffee at this level. To make matters even more appealing, they give you a free small coffee with every purchase of a lb. of coffee. Not only is this a great courtesy, it’s a brilliant sales concept that offers them the ability to turn-you-on to new coffees that you may previously never have been exposed to and/or may typically be outside your comfort zone. Twice now, my partner and I have returned to the shop after walking down the block with our coffees, just to ask them what we were drinking. I can happily say that this week, after around 13 years of buying the same coffee, we walked out of Absolute Coffee with a new choice of beans after sampling it there the week before. My advice to any professed coffee lover/drinker/enthusiast/connoisseur, whether you live in Brooklyn, Manhattan, New Jersey or even Queens and the Bronx. If you value your love of coffee, you owe it to yourself to come give Absolute Coffee a try.

Convenient(literally next door to my boyfriend’s place) and has a decent amount of seating. The coffee is very good. I usually get a breve latte, and they’ve never let me down, though I’m not sure it’s quite as good as Blue Bottle(or the best I’ve ever had at Peregrine in DC). Would definitely recommend it. They also have some good looking(seemingly heart attack inducing) donuts, but I haven’t tried one yet.

Worth walking 20 minutes to get there. The coffee is awesome(Gimme Coffee, made with panache), and the baristas are super friendly. Atmosphere is pretty relaxed and usually balanced between people chilling and working, etc. Main thing is the coffee(actually I usually get the iced latte). It’s just so pleasant and balanced that it makes me happy even thinking about. Not sure why a well-made coffee can give you a meditative calm that a mediocre one just won’t, but I think I might try to do some research and find out, now that the experience is reproducible…

Nice, quaint coffee shop on the crazy sidewalk of Atlantic Ave. We didn’t expect much when we came in after dinner and just wanted a quick caffeine fix. The guy behind the counter was nice and we basically had the place to ourselves. Only reason it was 5 stars was because we got there almost closing time and didn’t get to experience the whole place with the pastries and other drinks.

This is nice lil hipster haven. I had the pleasure of trying their ‘clever’ a combo of French press and another roasting method. Smooth as silk. The vibes are good, the people are nice and I could easily hang out here for hours.

I’ve been to countless chillaxed cafes in BK, but this one stole my heart. I truly love Absolute Coffee. Simple, warm, friendly, and authentic. I ordered a Spinach/Tomato/Feta turnover and a cup of hot chocolate. Gotta say it was DELISH! They did a great job of putting creative artwork on my hot chocolate. It truly made my day and gave me something to look forward to! I will gladly come back again! #loveyourhomemore #loveyourcitymore

I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon to get some work done and was able to grab a seat by the window. I’ve passed by this coffee shop a couple of times before and have seen it get packed. I’ve tried several coffee shops that made me dislike almond milk because it makes my coffee feel gritty and weird. But they only have almond milk here as a milk alternative, so I went with a mocha with almond milk. To my surprise, there weren’t any gritty/weirdness. It was actually very smooth and the foam was perfect. This is literally the best mocha with almond milk that I’ve had. I’ll be coming back for more, especially since they accept the subscription based app, CUPS(use the code TMYP8 for $ 10 off).

Sometimes life can be mundane. Everyday tasks like reading a newspaper or checking the news on your iPad become habit pretty quickly and become part of your daily grind. Usually these things fall on us as lackluster reflexes. Drinking coffee is one of those things for me, but alas this is not a mundane or lackluster daily task, not thanks to Absolute Coffee. I am a creature of habit and I fall prey to the temptation of a iced cold brew coffee once or twice a day. The staff is attentive and present and are always waiting with a smile and my coffee quickly and exactly how I like it. Black. I guess I come here too often. I’m just glad I’ve broken free of the siren spell that apple turnover puts on me. TL;dr the coffee is great. The location is well staffed and the ambiance is perfect. You’ll be hard pressed to find better in the area.

It’s about time I have updated my review! Hands down, Absolute coffee is my FAVORITE cappuccino in the neighborhood. It is consistently delicious! I find it nearly impossible to find a place that consistently serves up a good capp and am often left disappointed and/or avoid certain spots when specific baristas are working. Luckily, Absolute has never disappointed me. Love love love Absolute coffee!

I stayed a few blocks from Absolute Coffee and found myself there for breakfast two mornings in a row. The first morning I ordered an iced coffee and a chocolate croissant and it was great. The next day I ordered an iced coffee and a ham and cheese croissant. The iced coffee was fantastic(and they had almond milk). The staff was super friendly and the spot itself is cute and comfy.

Some people are fine with partial coffee. They’re like, if I could get a majority of coffee, or even a plurality of coffee, hell, even if I could get a fraction of coffee, I would be happy. Not me. I want 100%, Absolute Coffee. Came here yesterday on July 4 to get some iced coffee because holidays wear me out, yo. There were two baristas behind the counter champing at the bit like, «When is it time to close and celebrate the signing treasonous letter to the King of England?» There was a dude standing in line at the one bathroom tap-tap-tapping on his phone like Edgar Allen Poe had an upset stomach in that bathroom what with all the waiting. And the people in the coffee joint? People were WORKING on a SATURDAY on a HOLIDAY. That is how serious people are at Absolute Coffee, people. One dude was like some sort of adjunct desperately trying to get full-time employment(not even tenure yet people, just full time) by grading some awful double-spaced essay on god knows what. Another girl looked like she was working but she was on Facebook. Another dude was sitting all yoga like outside the coffee house pretending to read some real book with actual pages and binding, but he was actually on his phone. Another dude was reading an actual book. Just to give you a sense of the vibe here because if you are interested in anything less than ABSOLUTE coffee, then I’m fairly certain the proprietors of this establishment don’t want you around, unless you are around to buy and drink coffee and related products.

Ordered a latte and a mocha doughnut and they were the perfect accompaniment for each other. The latte was a bit bitter while the mocha doughnut was sweet. A match made in heaven if I do say so myself. I love that they offer doughnuts from Dough because Dough got some pretty good doughnuts. The staff was friendly and answered all of my questions. It is a decent sized café with multiple tables and seats, a seating area by the window, and a bench outside. They have a bathroom in the back. Any café with a bathroom is a plus in my book.

Absolute Coffee NY Brooklyn Downtown 5pm Thursday 28th May 2015 Four Stars It’s a relative small coffee shop. They had some decent ice coffee. They were closing up shop so I will have to return to see what the vibe is like. The coffee was a bit bitter. The ice was generic. The cup was a standard plastic.

I will admit that I didn’t really want to go into this shop because its appearance didn’t stand out. Shame on me, I know. Anyway, I used my CUPS app/membership and discovered this place. Cappuccino w/almond milk: Super solid drink. Latte art was okay… But it was velvety and smooth which allowed for the nuttiness of the almond milk to seep through. Spooning the foam into my mouth… Mmm. Foam is not bitter at all, but light and delectable. Reallly good. The space is minimal and clean but in a dude sort of way. Which maybe explains why the majority of the customers were guys? Probably just a coincidence. Outlets everywhere, free wifi, dough donuts. Can’t complain. Would stop by on my weekly trips to Trader Joe’s(down the block)!

Stopped in here for the first time to relax with a cappucino and my book. Not much seating but it’s a nice little coffee shop. There’s one large table for those groups with laptops or paperwork, a nice little bar top by the window with 3 high seats, and 4 or 5 smaller two-top tables. Staff was friendly, coffee was good. I’d come back here if I was in the area. Average prices for the area and a place like this. My favorite part though: the amazing assortments of 50s and 60s oldies music playing. I kept getting distracted from my book bc I was just looooving the playlist!

Cute little coffee spot on Atlantic avenue. I want to make a disclaimer about my review though… I’m hesitating to say the service was super nice because you may read my other reviews and say«this girl allllways says that about places and never wants to be really critical.» Fair enough, but everyone here was really nice and friendly! I rarely am asked if I’d like my coffee and food for there or to go, with a genuine feeling they wanted me to say for here and to stay. I did then end up staying and sitting at a little window side table and my only regret was not bringing my charger because voila! There was an outlet right at my feet. They make those beautiful little designs with hearts on your drink. I tried both a mocha(I loved best-not really sweet but I didn’t feel it needed additional sugar) and a latte(also good). Wish I had tried a donut but the brown butter cookie I had was perfect accomplishment for a latte or cappuccino, and the cheddar scone was nice and cheesy. The sticker on the door reads«people love us on Unilocal!» Yes we do! :)

I happened to stumble upon this place while walking down Atlantic ave. Before walking in a customer told me «They have really good coffee here» while holding the door. She must get her coffee for free because I cannot fully agree. I came here for a latte and also got a cheddar scone. The latte had a slight burnt flavor. I know good latte and this was just A-OK. Also the cheddar scone was hard as a brick. The ambience however is soothing and the service is good. Its a small quiet place with window stools to which allows you to watch passing traffic. I sat by the window, read the new york times while enjoying a latte. It gives you the coffee house feel but the latte was lacking.
