Absolutely do not eat here. My friend and I ordered the tofu curry and the chicken pad thai for delivery and my friend got FOODPOISONING. My curry was so disgusting I tried one bite and put it down. I’m glad I didn’t eat, or I probably would have gotten food poisoning too. Do not eat here.

Picked up the dinner special 3 rolls of sushi and misu soup for my sick wife — she loved it! Staff was nice and professional. The place had an authentic atmosphere and the cooks looks very experienced. Will come back ^_^

Yeah, no. Since moving to Central Slope, I’ve been trying to find new sushi spots to hit. Amber definitely won’t be in the rotation. We ordered the standard White Girl Trio(spicy salmon, spicy tuna, salmon avocado) and an extra spicy kani roll to test out Amber. The spicies were overstuffed with crunchy tempura flakes and they were just dry and bland. The kani was dry. The tuna was tasteless. The salmon avocado roll was OK, but the weird brightness of the salmon creeped me out. Too orange and no salmon taste. Miso soup was tasty. +1 for speedy delivery, but what’s the point when the food is basically trash?

*edited review* — PREFACE: sushi IS good here. — Ordered on Seamless and put tip on card — took way longer than Seamless said it would even after«left for delivery» — BUT the restaurant apologized profusely and gave me 15% off this order and 15% off next. AND the food IS very good here. REVIEWTOBEAMENDEDFURTHERAFTERNEXTORDER

I have worked at a sushi bar so I know good sushi. This is probably one of my favorite places to order from. My order is always delivered fast & they have some really good lunch specials. I have never been to the restaurant personally but I’d like to go soon. This is the only place I order food from when I am home. & i am home often.

Good service, sushi and rolls are terrible though. The fish tastes like its been sitting on the counter for weeks. I’ve eaten here twice, the first time I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but it was just as bad the second time.

I got a salmon roll that was bright orange, almost neon colored, which was disturbing because I’ve always had it a soft pink color. Maybe it was farmed salmon? My roommate got the chicken teriyaki bento box. The chicken was NOT cooked, some of it was raw. Unacceptable.

Disappointing. I wish I would have read the reviews prior to eating here. I could’ve warned my friend. She ordered salmon teriyaki which smelled amazing but the salmon was obviously frozen stiff and they cooked it desert DRY. I ordered 3 rolls — spicy yellowtail, spicy salmon and tuna/jalepeno. Because I don’t like the«crunch,» I requested that they hold the«crunch» on the spicy yellowtail and spicy salmon. When the rolls finally came out, the server’s disclaimer was only the beginning of my disappointment… Before she put the plate in front of me, she explained that the rolls were so small because I didn’t want the crunch and because the rolls are so small they might fall apart easily… They were small and some did fall apart. Aside from that, they weren’t the worst rolls that I’ve ever had and they weren’t completely bland — hence the 2 stars instead of one…

Do not get their Teriyaki. It was truly so bad. I had to spit it out of my mouth, and I do not consider myself a picky eater. The meat was completely white and somehow slightly crunchy on the inside — like it was previously frozen, then boiled, but not cooked all the way through. I’m not sure why it was so bad. The gyoza in my bento box was also pretty bad. Soggy, no crunch. I’m so sorry for the bad review! I just need to do my part in making sure no one eats that teriyaki. Maybe go for the sushi instead — apparently that’s much better.

Great place., extraordinary quality and very cheap. We eat the tempura and a maki combo D, and we recommend it. The waitress is so kind

Ordered non-sushi dishes for dinner for once and was disappointed. I won’t go back for anything that isn’t sushi.

Ordered lunch from here. Pretty good lunch special deal. Got the Tokyo Fried Chicken which is kind of like a Japanese version of Sesame Chicken with a little heat to it. 5 Large crispy chunks over rice with a California Roll, a Miso soup and a salad which was a nice surprise and all this was only 8.95. Most important the delivery minimum was only 8.00 which is great because most places make it so high when I order alone at the office I have to add on stuff I dont want. The food was pretty good tasting, everything was fresh and the lunch options were different from the norm and delivery was fast.

Just not good. I ordered the Tofu Teriyaki and Avocado Roll Bento box and it was pretty gross. The tofu was really bland, I know I know it’s tofu but no this was bad. The rice was mixed textures of hard, chewy and normal. Two stars because the delivery was prompt.

Sushi is good. I got the Salmon Don with brown rice. Was a little dissapointed they don’t include a salad in the lunch special. It was good not fishy smelling. I did like the fact that they called to make sure I ordered brown rice. They were fast and quick. Overall good lunch place.

I had read the reviews and wasn’t expecting high class sushi, but was disappointed. I ordered Maki combo c. The biggest issue was the seaweed was extremely stringy. It was hard to chew and swallow which was disappointing because the rest of the sushi was good.

Their salmon avocado and mango avocado rolls are always perfect and fresh. And I’ve always had good service as well. If you’re not eating here, you’re missing out!

Horrible customer service, very rude staff! I would not waste my time bothering with this place. The staff are rude, talk about you while you are eating and the bathroom was disgusting. Avoid this place!

I ordered delivery from this newly opened sushi joint, which consisted of a shrimp teriyaki and tempura bento box along with three kinds of sushi. The bento box was decent. While the teriyaki could use more seasoning, I found the shrimp and veggies to be fresh and tasty, while the shrimp & veggie tempura had a crunchy batter and weren’t overcooked or too greasy. Sushi consisted of salmon, salmon roe, egg/omelet and pickled mackerel. The salmon was fresh and was rich and subtle, while the salmon roe was crunchy and had a salty raw-yolk taste. The omelet was too sweet for my taste. Never-the-less, it wasn’t overcooked and watery. While I wasn’t a fan of the marinade for the mackerel/saba I appreciated the firmness and the non-too overwhelming fishiness and fat. Less vinegar and more salt will do the trick. My only real complaint is that the white rice(in everything) was bland and kind of gooey. Surprisingly, all of this cost only twenty dollars. One would usually pay twice the amount for a lower quality. While Amber Sushi isn’t equivalent to Masa, Yasuda or even Taro Sushi, it’s probably one of the better bang-for-your-buck sushi joints I’ve come across in NY. 3 ½ Stars.
