Great spot to hang out with a group of friends and drink some espresso. Wonderful creamy ice cream. As long as the place isn’t cramped, you’ll have a great time

5 starsfor the white chocolate and strawberry crepes but it doesn’t really go with notorious BIG’s music they had playing there

Love this place. As mentioned in all other reviews it’s definitely a very welcome addition to Ave X. The food is excellent, lovely staff, very friendly, well most of them. The manager(her name is Michelle, I believe) is very rude, never smiles, and l every time makes you fee like she is doing you a HUGE favour — It’s her job! I can’t believe she is trusted to be in charge. Her approach to customer service is absolutely horrible. I almost don’t want to go in when I see her in there.

Gravesend being the lesser hip and happening of neighborhoods in Brooklyn, Amori&Baci is a very very very welcome little café. The coffee is delicious. The gelato is yum. If you cant decide between the two, get the affogato. I’m not a fan of vanilla but it is amazingly incredible. Try the kiwi gelato as well, if they have. Each gelato is served with a pizzelle cookie in a cute colorful cup. If you can’t decide from the 10⁄12 flavored they have, someone will gladly give a small sample. I also enjoy their inferno omelette. It’s a generous serving, stuffed with mushrooms, cheese and jalapeños, with a side of mesclun greens and buttery toast. Their brownies are also tasty. Gooey, soft and chocolatey! The service is lacking sometimes. Sometimes the really buff waiter/cashier that works there is just downright unpleasant. It feels like I’m being judged for wanting a cupcake or gelato with my latte. It also feels like I’m being a hassle or something because he’s just very blah. It’s hit or miss with this guy. The girls who work there, one of them I believe is an owner, are always ice and helpful. Give this place a shot. It’s worth the stroll over if you live in the neighborhood.

i am writing this review because my husband just told me about the poor service he just received today around 9pm and I felt like i need to share with Unilocal instead of let my rage on that«child» that works there. i would give 3 stars just because the gelato is pretty good. And only the gelato. However the young staff there can really ruin the vibe for me. They can be extremely short, rude, and lack the basic knowledge of the goods. There is this young blond girl who has the attitude of «i’m too good for this place and should just get paid for looking pretty» The staff needs to be retrained or fired.

For those of us in the neighborhood who need a spot to go and get work done without hiking all the way to Park Slope, this place gets the job done. I haven’t tried all the food but appreciate that there is a variety(gelato, baked goods, soups, crepes, and of course drinks). Spacious, long hours, friendly service. Glad to be a patron.

Great coffee shop! The coffee taste great and the customer service is wonderful. The servers are knowledgeable and the food looks delicious(I wasn’t really hungry so I didn’t eat anything). Plenty of outlets and free wifi but the couches aren’t really that conducive to getting work done(the tables are too low and you have to hunch over to reach your laptop). The tables in the front are your best bet. I also like the music they play in the background. Great playlist! Overall, I enjoyed my visit and I will be back!

Nice little coffee spot in the area. A friend and I wanted some late night caffeine and desserts, this happened to be the closest to where we were. It was perfect. They warmed up the chocolate cake for my friend(it looked delicious, and he enjoyed it, but i wasn’t really hungry). Our drinks were really good too. It didn’t have a line out the door but there was only one table open when we got there, which we quickly snatched up. It was busy all night. Good crowd of people. But it was still quiet enough for us to have a conversation.

A great café in the area; not many like it in the gravesend/sheepshead area. The latte’s are strong and robust in flavor, the crepes are big and very delicious if you’re in the mood to cheat late night on your diet. Considering Ave X is a ghost town after 8PM, it’s nice that this café opens super early in the morning and is open late, I think until midnight if I’m not mistaken. Nice staff, very yummy food, and contemporary décor and atmosphere.

Truly one of the better café’s in South Brooklyn. I judge a place first by how strong and flavorful the ice latte and coffee is and then move on to the hot stuff, here it is on point. We do not have many café’s around my area, that have good coffee and a good setting, and this one has both The crêpe’s here are huge and really good and the food is good as well. When i just met my girlfriend we came here almost every night for a latte and a crêpe, so i got a fair variety of tastings here

Yum Yum. Great crêpe selection(they’re all good about changing things up and modifying… can you tell I’m a picky one?), great coffee/tea options too. Haven’t tried the gelatos/ice creams. not totally my thing, but they looked tasty. Great for a girls night out or any chit chat needs.

Though listed as a desert place, they feature a variety of sandwiches(paninis) and salads. I had a nice little meal with a side salad for around $ 8. Nothing earth shattering. On a street where many places are well aged, this restaurant seems almost too new and out of place. Big, bright, with colorful leather couches and flat screen TVs, it seems a bubble-gum like set of a Nickelodeon show. But the food is decent and the workers are nice. So really no complaints.

This place deserves four stars for New York City overall, but five stars for Gravesend, which is not exactly the fanciest area in town. Very good food and plenty of space where to sit and relax, huge tv screens for watching your games… it’s not easy to find these things in South Brooklyn, especially at a café(great for those like me who don’t love drinking alcohol).

Finally tried this place yay. I have to say I was acknowledged when I walked in by the guy at the register, and also the perky girl behind the counter. She was friendly and offered me samples when she saw me standing there trying to decide. I tried two flavors of the gelato and finally got the oreo one. It was good, but I have nothing to compare to as Ive never had gelato before… Not as creamy as I’d hoped but good. They serve it in cute little plastic cups with a little waffle-cookie thing. also pretty pricey, but it is a «café’ type. Id prob come back for a crêpe or something. Cute spot.

Nothing to really write home about here, although Amori & Baci café is a welcome addition to Avenue X! There are no other café’s in this area and the fact that this one is the first makes it a pioneer — but let’s just get to the review, yes? They have cutesy decorations. It’s clear the owners put a lot of time and thought into the ambiance of their café. The red and white sofas, red and black chairs, pink and orange walls. When I walked it I just kept thinking how cute everything was! But the longer I sat there the more I began to think that the décor also had a hint of tackiness to it. Maybe it was the array of colors. I appreciated all the small details– like the movie scene posters and the lighting. But I do think they could have made the space a bit more intimate. For their menu they had a huge variety of stuff. They serve chai tea, regular tea(And the good stuff too), coffee, crepes, cupcakes. It’s a dessert spot where you can relax and talk. The service was on point too. Our waiter came by several times to make sure we were satisfied. He also helped me pick out a nice light tea when I ordered! Plus, they keep long hours. It doesn’t close until midnight which is pretty unlike any of the other establishments in this area. Despite all the positives, I still can’t find that«wow» factor. It was a cute café, but it was only average. Nothing really blew me away. Regardless, I’ll be coming back just for the sheer fact that it’s so close to my home!

WHYCAN’T ANAMAZINGPLACELIKETHISBEINASTORIA??? I have never had a panini that left me asking for more. I tried the Sofia Lorena(the name may be off by a bit) and it was GREAT! The bread must have been fresh too! I had an iced black tea which was good since it quenched my thirst. I took a bite of my friend’s crêpe and oh dear lord it was orgasmic to my taste buds. I was saving room for dessert and if I hadn’t i would have bought the crêpe too. The best thing about this place is that they have weird flavor gelatos and sorbets. I had a white russian and mojito sorbet and i ordered a Tiramisu to go. It was all really great and pleasurable. The service is friendly and the manager was checking up on us to see if everything is okay, which it was. The atmosphere is upbeat and welcoming. Despite how busy this place was, staff was checking up on people. Definitely check this place out. You cannot go wrong!

I’m happy to finally give a place 5 stars. Considering how many years I’ve been to the area, it makes me happy to see places like OTB closed up and places like this opening up. If I lived over there, I think I’d be there every day. That’s how much I liked this place. We were asked a couple of times how everything was and that alone leaves me a good first impression. Bensonhurst isn’t exactly known for friendly service so it was nice to see this being done. I also liked that they bring the food to the table and you could pay before or after. Something I noticed to be a growing a trend in new café places cropping up in Bensonhurst and Bay Ridge. The seating is comfy and uniquely set up and the general atmosphere is very comforting. The workers there were very friendly and helpful, especially the fact they come out from behind the counter to ask if you’re being helped. Definitely a plus considering it was fairly busy. I tried quite a few things in my first visit. A combination of hunger… then impulse… and the ‘eat-food-with-meds’ factor. Yes I know TMI. I function like that. I ordered a vanilla coffee, a ricotta/spinich/mushroom crêpe with 2 rainbow cookies. Originally this was supposed to be it.lol. More on what else in a second. Coffee=I’m picky with coffee. Not much of a drinker at all and I liked this alot. Rainbow Cookies=I know all of them generally are the same but this is the first time I’ve had really good ones since Angelo’s long closed up. Crêpe=This was actually my first time having a crêpe. I never had one at all before and glad to say my first one was awesome. The portion is def. worth the money too and they give you a small portion of salad on the side. Seeing my friends get gelato and my will power to resist failed me when I experienced the rather odd flavor, Rose which really does taste how it smells. I got jasmine and vanilla. It was weird tasting what’s usually scented lotions but it was good too. The«eat food with meds» was my to-go item. Which was just eaten and happily chased with water and pill goodness. Good muffin. I approve, lol. Overall it was good and plan on coming back again. Although next time I’ll call it a day with a coffee and crêpe and be content. I can see taking stuff to go from here and heading on over to the bowling alley down the block. Or vice versa and coming here after. It makes a good hangout combo.

This place is new, I believe they just opened this year. And they know what they are doing. First of all this kind of café is exactly what the neighborhood lacked. And I love having a hang out spot like this near my house. In regards to the atmosphere the place is very cute and inviting. It’s clean, bright, and there are these large half-circle couches around tables that just make you want to stay around. The place is relatively big so there’s plenty of room. It seems like it would be perfect to go with a large group of friends. The service is some of the best I’ve had in a while. The waitresses are so sweet and attentive. They always check on you, ask how the food is, clean up any plates and trash right after its set down, and even offer to give samples of their gelato(as opposed to most places where you have to ask for a sample). Onto the food: they have paninis, crepes, salads, and gelato/sorbe as well as drinks and other miscellaneous deserts and cookies. I had the salmon salad. The plate was a good filling size(and for only 6.99!) with a good amount of smoked salmon and a delicious dressing. Many other items on the menu looked tempting such as the crepes and paninis. For desert I was going to get the crème brûlée(my favorite ever) but I got tempted into trying the gelato flavors and once I tried I could not resist. They have some of the most unique and creative falvores I have ever seen. My favorite was the popcorn mixed with caramel gelato(like a creamy caramel popcorn), though I’ve sampled the rose which was equally good and tasted just like a rose smells. The hazelnut is a safe choice if you don’t want to do the unique flavors. Though trust me. try it. you’ll love it. I will definitely be back! Atmosphere, food, and dessert. A perfect combination for a café.
