I found Andy through his flyer. I tried Rocksmith 2014, but felt I would be more dedicated and learn more by making a commitment of time and money with a live human being. Also, I wanted to improve my guitar skills AND eventually record my own music, so I liked the idea of someone who could teach me both. Andy impressed me right away with his skill, friendliness, and patience; though young, he knows his stuff. His laidback style really helps alleviate my performance anxiety, and his depth of knowledge makes me feel I am in good hands. Plus, he’s a bargain at $ 50 an hour and he comes to you. I would recommend him to anyone.

Andy was very helpful to me in the path to finding my inner creative voice. I had very little musical experience before taking lessons with him and wanted to gain a grasp of basic music theory and composition techniques as well as recording. He taught me how to produce music on the computer using Ableton and looping my voice. With the knowledge I acquired during his lessons I have been able to combine my specialized interests with my own unique music production process. Great teacher, very knowledgable, highly recommended.

I can’t give Andy enough praise. As a hobbyist musician and general newbie, I was looking for someone to teach me how to properly record my own songs. Andy went above and beyond my expectations in teaching me the principles and techniques of home recording and music production. His lessons are very interdisciplinary and I learned a ton of basic music theory and arrangement technique from him in the process of learning how to record and produce. He is also a very down-to-earth and relatable person with a genuine interest in your musical goals. During his lessons it feels more like you’re hanging out with a really enthusiastic friend rather than some random music know-it-all. I feel like he really took the time to sit down and evaluate my interests, goals and skill level in order to teach on a more personal level. Andy’s lessons are informative, inspiring and fun, and the results you will hear in your work are profound. I would highly recommend him as a teacher for anyone looking to get started in the art of making music.
