I looked into hiring a local NYC portrait artist and found Boris Jairala. I wanted a traditional portrait of my daughter and he seemed to be one of the many artists who can do the job. However, I chose him because of his positive reviews and the guarantee he offered that I get to approve the painting before it’s delivered and before I payed. He did a an awesome job and captured her exactly the way I hoped he would. I recommend him to anyone that wants a custom painting. Also, he’s easy on the eyes lol :)

I have known Boris for quiet some time, and if you know him you know that he is very passionate about his artwork. I can’t say enough good things about how talented he is. His work is so exquisite and detailed you couldn’t ask for anything more. He is extremely professional and will have your work done in a timely fashion. If I could give 6 stars I would. I wanted a painting that captured the essence of my relationship with my wife that I could give her as a gift. I gave Boris very little guidance other than what I just mentioned. I wanted to fully rely on his artistic expression. I couldn’t have been more pleased. Not only was the paining beautiful, he also captured the essence of us incredibly well. I will not hesitate to go back to him with any other needs in the future. It was also great working with him during the process. He showed me the work while in progress to let me see his idea and how it was looking to give me the chance to offer my opinion or ask for tweaks. I didn’t want anything changed; it was perfect. Highly recommended.

We used Boris to finish a painting that a friend-​of-​a-​friend had started, not quite finished, and generally done a not-​so-​amazing job on. He did a good job working with the 90% of the painting that was already done. We looked like happy, slightly younger versions of ourselves — it was perfect, haha. He also added a nice frame to the fairly large painting for a very reasonable price.

His work is personal, thoughtful, and has so much feeling behind it… highly recommend.

What an amazing artist! Boris is professional and talented. He has captured the beauty of my best friend forever on canvas even though she is gone. He puts a ton of love into his work. Highly recommend!!!

I contacted Boris to recreate one of my favorite pictures of myself and boy did he deliver! I love the likeness to the photo. He was very professional and friendly and this won’t be the last time I work with him! Next time I will absolutely get one of his amazing paintings as a gift for someone other than myself! I first met Boris because I was at a tanning salon and he was painting an incredible mural on their wall. I was impressed! I went ahead to look into his work, and saw what a great artist he was. I contacted him to get a mural of my dog, and he did an amazing job. I love my dog so much and having a mural of her that had great detail and color means a lot to me. Everyone that comes into my house comments on it! Oh btw, his art galleries are great. and he has great rates.

Boris’ work is amazing! He worked on a scenic painting for me and every time I look at it, I smile. I placed it in the walkway just inside of the entrance to my apartment. His attention to detail is unparalleled and the quality of his finished paintings always shows how passionate he is about his craft. Whether it’s a scenic image or a portrait of a human being or animal, every painting he makes that replicates an image given to him, is the perfect representation. His paintings look alive, real and breathtaking. His murals change the atmosphere of any room and his creativity and originality is apparent. It is a privilege to get a custom piece made by Boris. As an artist he can easily capture your vision and take it to the next level with his creativity. This guy lives and breathes for his craft and it shows in each and every one of his pieces. I have a couple of his paintings and drawings and plan on working with him more in the future. It’s so nice to get custom work from a native Brooklyn artist. Each piece tells a story that is equal parts provocative, fantasy and smart. I can’t recommend him enough. And his rates are very reasonable!

I love my sweet cat, Webster. Like most pet owners, I feel Webster is so special. I wondered if it was possible to capture his loving personality on canvas. This is why I had invited Boris over to meet Webster, to see him thru my eyes, sort of speak. Do I sound like the crazy cat lady? haha —
Well Boris was very patient with my requests. He suggested a few options & snapped a few photos. The finished product is wonderful. It brings a smile to my face every time I glimpse at Webster’s portrait, which proudly hangs in my livingroom. I would recommend Boris to anyone. He truly is a talented artist.

I have been following Boris’ work for many years now! It is amazing to know such an amazing artist and to be able to follow him through his different periods.
What’s even better is that his beautiful creative pieces are being shared publicly at Café at Sam’s Bakery in Bay Ridge. It is very rare that even the toughest critic comes in and doesn’t compliment the creativity of the artist. We’re proud to have those pieces hanging there!

Boris totally deserves an amazing review, his creativity and attention to detail is amazing. He has painted me and honestly, I can’t count the number of compliments I have gotten from his painting.
Since that I have acquired another piece from Boris’s collection and still the admiration for the decoration in my home has flowed abundantly. I can’t wait to get my next piece from this brilliant artist.
To top, his attitude is top notch, easy going and totally professional at the same time. I am so glad that he crossed my path. I wish him much success in the future.
