Axelle Frames

This guys are the shit. Jeff was extremely helpful in working with me, even the fact that I was pretty indecisive. His partner (now I’m forgetting his name. Damn) matted my picture seamlessly and turned more than I hoped for. These guys are the real deal. The bees knees. The cats meow. Yeah :)

Jeff and the staff at Axelle set the bar HIGH. They are not only skilled, they focus on the individual piece and work with you to enhance it appropriately. They patiently explore and explain all the available options and will enthusiastically provide any amount of guidance you may need. They are artists and love what they do and love to do it, all of which shows in the results. They are committed every step of the way, even to the point of helping to get the piece home and hung. Artwork could not be in better hands.

I can’t say enough good things about Axelle. I had 7 ink illustrations to frame. Most of them are originals, and some have a lot of sentimental value, so I brought a few in at first to see how I liked them because I was nervous about trusting anyone with these. But when Jeff spent literally about 3 hours with me that first time, working with me so patiently to find a perfect fit — both for the artwork and for my tastes — I knew I was in the right place. I was so happy with our choices for the first few that I brought the rest in for framing even before the first batch was done. One of the things that was so great was that, even though it became clear pretty soon that Jeff and I have very different tastes, he got the hang of what I was looking for, and by the end of our framing session, we were both going right away for the same exact frames and mats. I had a kind of crisis moment with the last piece when I wanted to diverge from the artist’s wishes. All the guys in the shop chimed in to try to come up with a solution that would work for both me and the artist. I ended up sleeping on that decision after having a talk with the artist about it. In the end, we all found something that worked so well that the artist was really impressed. And so was I! Everything is up on my walls now and I’m so happy. I’m excited to keep getting more new artwork so I can get more framed here! I will definitely be back.

These guys really care about what they do and it shows. I’ve had some framing disasters in the past so I count my lucky stars that I found Axelle. On top of doing a great framing job, the folks there are very sweet, humble and it was quite a bit of fun working with them. They really went above and beyond for me. Couldn’t be happier. Btw– they’re location is a little hard to find, but they’re next door to (and in the basement of) Axelle Fine Arts.

The options for framing in the city can be overwhelming. I am extremely happy to have been recommended Axelle.
