The evolution of Charles from construction worker to a local healer…
A healer in the true sense of the word. He’s not there to make you feel better. He’s there to make you be better. I’ve had two appointments with him and can speak from experience that he is very generous with his time. He will only book 4 or fewer appointments per day in order to be able to focus on his clients. He gives you a brief consultation to determine in advance what your illnesses, issues or traumas are.
The bodywork was easily the best massage I had ever experienced. He has a genuine understanding of triggerpoints and how to release the muscle from scar tissue. Keep in mind that his body work is not intended to be a relaxation type of massage. The man really digs into the muscle fibers until your «pencils» and «chicken McNuggets» disappear.
I recently had a polarity session with him as well. How best to describe? Similar to Reiki, very light touch with holding, where I drifted into a light trance. During my session, memories that I had long forgotten were provoked, coupled with a very strong emotional response. While I did not fully understand why I was crying, there was a very strong emotional release. I can’t explain it… This dude just knows his stuff.
The space is not your traditional «Salon» type environment. I dig that he has «Everybody Poops» as a reading material in the restroom, next to a plastic alligator, photos of his life, a mastodon tooth and a dashboard hula girl, all keeping you company as you slowly drift to your hippie dippy, über zenful happy place.

I’ve been going to Charles for awhile now and kept forgetting to write a review, silly me! Charles gives literally the best massages I’ve ever had. I carry a lot of tension in various parts of my body and he knows how to work on those spots effectively. A massage at a typical spa would just go through the motions, but Charles focuses on your particular issues, which is a thousand times better. I highly recommend a visit to him!

I had a massage with Charles last night and it was fantastic! I initially came here for a groupon, but have already booked my next appointment. The massage area is equipped with lovely aromatherapy, a variety of massage oils and heated massage table. I have a chronic back issue that causes me a lot of pain, but Charles was able to dedicate some extra time and attention to the area, and left me feeling fantastic. Not only is he a talented massage therapist, but also a really cool guy to talk to. Great local location as well. I would recommend his services to anyone looking for a quality massage from a dedicated and caring therapist!

And always effective. After our sessions, my body feels more open, more centered, and relieved of pain. He is one of my go-​to therapists. Thank you, Charles!

Charles is awesome! I walked into BC Massage a tight, crunchy mess (I do crossfit :) and practically floated out there. He really paid attention to all the right areas and loosened me up a lot. He has experience with athletes/​active people and really knew what he was doing. He even gave great advice in reference to self-​massage/​foam rollers. I feel amazing. Highly recommend!

I’ve had many massages from Charles, most recently an in-​home massage that put me right back on track when I was getting sick. I look forward to many more sessions with him.

Had a great Massage today!!! The best ever. My back feels so good right now. Charles really addressed the areas in my back that were troubling me. It was also nice that he had a selection of scented oils for me to choose from. For a moment, I thought I was in a candy store. Such a delight!!! That’s the kind of treat I can give myself time and time again rather than candy. Thanks so much Charles!!!

I’ve had quite a few sessions with Charles, and he’s exceeded my expectations every single time. Every. Single. Time.
Whether he’s doing a straight Swedish massage, a Polarity session, or a mix of the 2, I always walk away feeling a serious and positive shift in my body and mind. Charles is funny, caring, and really listens to your concerns and goes out of his way to make sure he addresses all of them.
Do yourself a favor and book a session with this therapist, you’ll thank yourself. I always do and I come all the way from Astoria to see him!
