Was looking for a little bar food and a drink prior to a show at The Bell House. Found this place while wandering the foodie delights of 5th avenue. Limited seating but the staff quickly accommodated us at a comfortable table. We greatly enjoyed the mezes plate and a buttery rich cup of clam chowder. Washed down with a nice Pilsner from the tap. All good at this nice local place where the bar was packed and everyone was friendly.

I love this place! Not only is it located in a wonderful neighborhood, it’s located on a street that’s wonderful to stroll down after indulging in amazing food. Whenever I visit my brother, he takes me here for brunch. It’s a great because he’s a vegetarian and I’m not, but their menu carters to both of us. Going for brunch around when the first open is probably our favorite time to go… and if the back is open and weather permits, I recommend sitting in the back. The trees, beautiful lighting, sounds of birds chirping, it makes for such a memorable meal.

Great place for a brunch. Recommend it a lot! The breakfast bowl was amazing! They have a great selection of beers also.

We came here for an early dinner in the summer and the backyard was cozy, quaint and romantic. It’s definitely somewhere you’d want to go on an «intimate» date. The inside isn’t as date-worthy. It’s just a few high top tables and a hipster bar. My girlfriend ordered the New England clam chowder. Perhaps her being born and raised in Rhode Island has something to do with it but she was heavily disappointed with her meal. While the chowder won’t put Backyard on the map, the meatloaf was awesome. We’ll probably be back for drinks and apps once the weather warms up!

We came here for brunch in December so no chance to check out the backyard… It’s a small place but not overcrowded. I enjoyed the Atmosphere– nice music, coZy, not noisy. We sat at the bar The bartender and generally the staff were nice and friendly. I had a difficult time choosing a dish… Everything looked so good to try. I have to say the highlights here were the guacamole, their home made pecan pie, and their cocktails. The food was tasty and imaginative– it felt like a 20 something old college kid on a budget was trying to impress his date with culinary skills. Not In a bad way tho… Maybe a good way to describe the food is hearty stoner food. Very yummy :) Must try the pecan pie tho! The backyard bubbly is a great cocktail… Potent and seems to last forever. And watching the bartender mix drinks, I can say no joke on the amount of liquor and size of drinks you get And prices for food were great, cocktails were $ 12 each.

Great service and great food for great prices. Enjoyed brunch here. The potatoes were good. I like how there were pieces of sweet potato mixed in. I tried my friend’s Mississippi Queen and loved it! The sloppy joe was so flavorful. I look forward to going back soon!

A cute place for brunch. It was a little chilly, so we chose to sit inside. I got the weallstars and it was a pretty basic but filling meal. The entrees range from $ 12−15ish.

Came here on a nice sunny day and was lucky that their backyard was open!!! It was gloomier in the morning and got sunny later so we were pretty surprised it was opened :) the backyard was nice and cozy. They had speakers that looks like rocks to match the real rocks layin around. My bf tried the fat stacks(unsure of the spelling) and i had some dish w jalapeño pickles! I love spice so it was sooo good for me! But my bf who cant handle spice could not handle it. Overall, great food, and customer service was good. Clean bathroom. Will come back again

Cute spot! Sat by the window at the front and had a beer and some olives for happy hour. It was actually empty so nice and quiet and service was good. I’d go back and would like to try some food.

Beware of Happy Hour Scam! My friends and I, collectively, have been coming here semi-regularly over this last summer. We love the outdoor space, hence our return visits. However, my friend I and came here last Thursday night, and I was pretty sketched out when our bill came. We came for happy hour, which is advertised as 2-for-1 beers and $ 5 well cocktails until 7pm. When our bill was delivered at 6:50pm, it was full price everything. I told the server we had been charged full price, and she apologized, but still brought back the bill mostly full price. When I asked why we didn’t get 2-for-1 beers, she said it was because we didn’t order the same beer. No where on the menu was that advertised! I always feel sketched out when first the bill isn’t delivered up to snuff, and then the server argues with you on the happy hour price. Makes the place seem cheap/desperate. It left a bad taste in my mouth & I don’t think our group will be going back to the Backyard, bummer.

Love this place. The staff is friendly, good selection of beers and whisky. Haven’t tasted the whole menu, but the chicken salad, sliders, and meatloaf burgers are delish. And the bacon, love love love the bacon

A friend and I were strolling around the Slope on a Saturday afternoon, when this delightful spot caught our eye. While the backyard was full, we decided to sit indoors — which was just as good with the windows open. Prices are very reasonable, I think my meal total was less than $ 15. And the fare is great, just nothing fancy. I had the«Phat Stax» which included two eggs, three strips of bacon, potatoes and some cheese sandwiched between two pancakes. I easily finished it, but some people could share if they’d like.

Super chill place to stop in for a few happy hour priced beers and appetizers. The wait tagged here was very nice considering we came 5 minutes before the end of happy hour. The specials included $¾ drafts and buy one get one select bottles. They also have a $ 1 beer if you can find the garden gnome. I don’t ask but I think it may be the one in the courtyard outback climbing the tree but you will have to check. We needed up ordering the sloppy joe sliders in addition to the potato wedges. Both were good compliments to the meal but nothing special. If they were not happy hour specials I wouldn’t order them again. This place scores major point for the out door seating they have out back. This area has a few bars with outdoor seating but others ten to get a little night and buggy but this bar has 2 large fans circulation air outback to keep you cool and keep the Mosquitos away. There is wifi available although I didn’t ask for there password there is an open network for a place near by. Check this place out if you want some happy hour drink specials and/or you are a looking to hang outside. Otherwise maybe look at other options.

An ok spot, but most of our group was still hungry at the end of our meal. Our server was very nice but also very overwhelmed, so everything took too look and we regularly had to ask for things like sugar for the coffee. We enjoyed the food but wouldn’t necessarily call it memorable.

A few friends and I decided to try this place one balmy(so wanted to use that word. LOL) spring night. It’s a small spot, but the backyard makes up for it! We came on a night(I believe it was Thursday) that had a live music… if you’re interested in that. What caught my interest on their menu when I looked on their site was their short rib. However, they no longer have it… my bottom lip was all the way poked out. So I opted for the meatloaf sliders. My friends order the lobster salad, shrimp and grits, and we shared wedges. Overall the food was tasty. The drinks have some fun names… we all loved the libations! I got the Bramble. my friends got the phony negroni and the old fashion. I’m not sure I would come back for the food, but I’ll definitely go for the drinks.

I cannot say enough good things about this bar! My sister and brother-in-law were coming into town with my one year old niece and it was her birthday weekend. We reserved a spot in Backyard Bar’s amazing backyard for a big party of friends and the service we received was incredible. They were so attentive and fun, the food was amazing — they went out and bought more prosecco since we drank all they had in house(oops!). Seriously this is now my new go-to spot in Park Slope. They even warmed up milk for me niece in the microwave. It was ridiculous! Cannot say enough good things.

I had the opportunity to attend an event at Backyard this past Saturday. The birthday event left the front of the establishment to my friend and the tables towards the back for other patrons who came in to eat. The décor was nice. The restaurant is quaint with a lot of wood featured in the design. The lighting was low and mood was relaxed. A few TVs were playing the playoff games. This all changed once my friend’s birthday party began to arrive. The place was then jumping with lots of conversation. The wait staff was attentive to the needs of the large group bringing the dishes and drinks out quickly. There was a nice mix of music styles. The food menu was small. Drinks options were far more abundant. I went with the lobster sliders and a side of mashed potatoes. The sliders were a perfect size and just enough to eat. The sweet pickles on the side were a nice touch. The potatoes were ok. I also sampled the fig and blue cheese flatbread. Not too much blue cheese. It had a sweet saltiness that was just right. Now for my drinks I had the Pooh Bear. Don’t let the name fool you. It was strong. Looked a lot like lemonade yet had me buzzed after the first one. The second took me over the top. There were plenty of other options of wines, beers and mixed drinks. I will definitely be back for another visit to a Backyard!

Great place to chill with friends during night time for dinner! My friend recommended this place to me to try out one night for a reunion. When you walk into the restaurant, it appears small, but wait till you walk to the backyard where you can also chill and sit during the warmer seasons! All the staffs there are amazing! It’s so easy to get Ina conversation with them and get along with each other! They are so cool and down to earth and filled with positivity! It feels like walking into a family home! The waiter and bartender are always checking up on us to see if services are needed and etc. So we mainly came here to try their foods and drinks! We always order their walnut spritzer which is sweet and crunchy filled with flavor! It keeps you ordering more! We usually go through at least 3 of these! It’s so addicting! Also their sliders are yummy, juicy and cooked the way we like it! Great to eat quality food here for slightly a cheaper price!
