Horrible service from new croissant employee, went to get $ from ATM a few doors down and came back 30 seconds later and the door was locked… she then asked me if she could help me seemingly with no recollection of our conversation seconds before… she let me back in and I inquired whether she heard me say I was going to the ATM, to which she replied«I thought you were talking on the phone»…no phone with me needless to say, she said«I served you and you just walked away»…she then asked me what I wanted… I don’t make jokes about people with brain damage but talk about a short memory span… probably not an ideal fit for this position… I have been going to this place at least twice a week for months and this was the last straw… aloof service detracts spoils delicious pastries on too many occasions… too bad… I won’t be back

So I’m in this place this morning to grab a quick iced coffee and snack before work. Don’t worry, I actually expected to pay MORE than $ 2 for something like a tiny chocolate croissant the length of my thumb, so this review isn’t about the grotesquely, not to mention pretentiously overpriced items sold in the greater Williamsburg area.(Native New Yorker kvetch alert.) In any event, after placing and paying for my order, I spied one of those now ubiquitous tip-jars. Although I find them a little weird, I make a habit of contributing at least a buck because it seems like the right thing to do and having worked in the food service industry for several years as a youngster, I know it all counts… Digging in my pocket, I only had a five, so I threw that in and fished out four singles. The barista sans cap(there were a couple) made a beeline for me and with an air of disdain asked«excuse me, do you need change sir — I’d rather you didn’t do that.» Well, actually I was tipping you ma’am, not trying the alter the apparent volume of your jar, steal, or break a fiver. My issue with food service of lately has been more on the service end than with the food itself, or in this case, relatively mediocre iced coffee. My sage advice: inquire next time, because we all know that corny old cliché about assuming.

Stopped by to get a cool drink and a little sweets on a Saturday. The place is small with some seating. It’s a hot day and the air conditioning is feels great. I tried their raspberry crumble and iced coffee. Both were good and I enjoyed myself. I will definitely come back if I’m every in the area again. I like the staff. They are very friendly.

TOXICENVIRONMENT. NEGATIVESTARS. Check other low star reviews! They say the same! People being mocked for who knows what reason or for having disabilities even. MANAGEMENTPLS. NOTICE these reviews and make a change! Why pay money to be bullied! I too was a regular here for too long and can vouch for the person who said : «Literally every time I’ve been here I’ve overheard some of the employees saying disparaging things about customers behind their backs. I’m not trying to say that they make fun of everyone, but they make fun of a huge range of customers. I come here kind of regularly, and have seen a lot of different employees doing this in really different situations. I frankly have no doubt that they do it behind my back as well. I honestly am starting to think that the culture of the working environment here is just really poisoned. If I knew how to contact the manager, I would.» To quote another reviewer: «It’s almost like we prepare to be offended when we go there.» This place will likely survive on the tourist mob as I’m sure it’s in guide books and on blogs due to the décor. But I urge you to at least consider the environment you chose to support if you frequent this establishment. Girls who criticize other girls?! Bullying and demeaning people. One girl was almost in tears once being torn down in front of what looked like a date. Pretty girls mocking girls they consider not pretty enough. What kind of bakery has so many reviews describing this kind of service. Bakeries are where people come for happiness. Why is this place so mean? Stopped going when I realized I was getting nervous just entering this space.

I went here on a Sunday because I was suffering from a hangover and I needed caffeine to start my day. I ordered a large latte and a raspberry crumble. The latte was delicious and the raspberry crumble was very decadent. It definitely made my hangover a lot better! The staff was okay, some of the girls were nice but it took me a long time to get a waitress’ attention. Nevertheless, very lovely place.

Was there at 8am and was most rewarded with the best baked goods I’ve ever had. Freshest in the morning, baked goods empty out in the afternoon. I love this place!

Nice place, cute, reasonably priced. We came in 30 minutes before, but we did not feel rushed, they were super nice and we respected their timeframe.

I am a coffee shop owner and I never get tired of visiting or eating in cafes or coffee shops. I lived in Europe as well as in United States. I enjoy cafes, coffee shop and bakeries where you can seat, eat and talk. I have been a customer for almost 4 years. The pastries and the quality of the products are definitely out standing. In the past I stopped going there because of the attitude of the workers but the truth is that in the last 6 month I have gone back several times and the service has been sweet, attentive and zero attitude. Last week I had the kale salad with grapefruit, avocados pumpkin seeds. The place is casual but very good!!!

Cash only was a surprise. This place is as cute as small bakeries come. Service was friendly and product was delicious! If I lived in Brooklyn, I’d be a regular, that is certain. The latte and lemon raspberry cake were perfect!

I was at the Smorgasburg opening with my older kids, 10 and 7, when they wanted to top off with dessert. Unfortunately, the stands were breaking down for the day, so I looked up nearby bakeries. That’s how we ended up at Bakeri — not very far at all from Smorgasburg, and conveniently on the way back to the subway station. I remember seeing it in passing, but didn’t take note partly because my daughter was more intrigued by the book store/novelty shop across the street. Bakeri is a super-tight space, so it is more likely somewhere to stop by and pick up items, which is what we did. I wanted the hazelnut chocolate cookie, but they were out; instead we got a double chocolate chocolate chip cookie, an oatmeal cranberry cookie, and a fudge brownie. I would most definitely get each of them again, and stop by and try other items! Let me just say — all three are very large. The fudge brownie was moist and chewy, and would stick to your fingers. Even on Tuesday — four days later — when I finally finished picking at it, it remained moist and just as enjoyable as when I first bought it. I’ll be back in the area again this weekend, and I am almost positive I will stop by Bakeri again.

Bakeri is small, but cozy. Try to go in the early morning when it’s less crowded, and the pastries aren’t sold out yet. So far my favorites are the apple cider flower, and the chocolate chip cookie with rosemary, hazelnut, sea salt — both are so addicting!!! Apple cider flower is like nothing I’ve ever had before. It is delicious! The texture was kinda like a sponge cake, and it had a nice sweetness to it. The cookie is chewy in the middle, but crunchy on the outside, and the Rosemary with the sea salt adds a nice flavor to an ordinary chocolate chip cookie. I always include to buy the cookie & the apple cider flower every time I try something new at Bakeri, it’s that good! Also tried the French toast on a Sunday(which they didn’t have during the weekdays), and that one was pretty good — fluffy, and moist from a lil bit of syrup, but not overly sweet or soggy which made it enjoyable to eat with your hands.

I can not speak more highly of this place. Hands down my favorite coffeeshop/café/bakery in Brooklyn & maybe even Manhattan. My favorite latte for sure. The candy bar(I’m not sure what it is called, but it’s essentially a homemade candy bar) is TODIEFOR. It’s salty, sweet, chewy, soft, & perfect with a cup of coffee. Their carrot cake is delicious as well! Also, if you get a large latte they give it to you in a pretty bowl! Idk if anyone’s weird like me. but that is just amazing hahaha. I always make sure to get a large when I dine in! The only negative thing I can think of is while 98% of the employees are really sweet and chill, I have been in there a few times where certain girls aren’t as friendly & seem rather annoyed to be serving you. It’s pretty consistent with them too, which can sometimes be a bummer, but overall that is not enough to take away any love I have for this little gem! If you have time go to the toy store across the street, it’s filled with old collectibles, Pokemon cards, VHS’s & other nerdy stuff. Or walk straight down from Bakeri to the water & get the most amazing views! That’s always my routine when visiting here!

Busy busy place. Cute café with variety of bakery items. We ordered the orange brioche and chives+black pepper biscuit and two cups of coffee. Early enough that we only had to wait 10 mins but yes the line was already out the door at 10:45. Not good for groups.

Simply delightful! This place is a tiny oasis off of the busy Brooklyn streets. You might not get one of the couple seats, but definitely stop by and grab some pastries to go. One of the best muffins I’ve ever had in my life! As a non-NYC-dweller, this is on my list of places to hit up again should I be in the neighbourhood.

Wow. I’m super impressed. Upon entering, I was concerned that all of the baked goods looked a little bit too esoteric for my plebeian palate. Nonetheless, I still couldn’t help myself. I selected a zucchini flower, a cinnamon roll, and banana chocolate bread pudding. They were all excellent. The zucchini flower in particular was very different, moist, and flavorful. The hint of blueberry definitely enhanced the flavor. The cinnamon roll was also quite moist and well iced. The bread pudding was a good rendition of bread pudding, which is always great. I took all 3 home and heated them up. This made everything taste even better. I’d definitely return to try other stuff!

I’ve been to both Williamsburg and Greenpoint locations and despite the adorable décor and yummy food the service is always bad. Inconsistent, disorganized, hurried and often abrasive. I wonder if they have an employee requirement of being moody all the time but it’s pretty regular. Their baked treats are delicious and unique. The chocolate chip cardamom is a staple and absolutely worth trying. I’ve also noticed their cupcakes to be super moist but often overly sugary. Also am a fan of the Counter Culture coffee but why don’t they serve half and half? Is Counter Culture okay with this? Williamsburg spot is teeny tiny and you’re lucky to find a seat, whereas GP is more spread out. I hope your overall experience is better than mine has been!

Cute little bakery. Kind of pricey. The chocolate croissant was the size of my finger! I mean really? I also tried the raspberry pistachio muffin and it was good. Nothing special.

Superbe décor. Les pâtisseries ont l’air succulentes(j’avais pas faim) les serveuses sont très souriantes, les prix sont correctes. La petite terrasse en arrière cour est très agréable.

I’ve found my soulmate and it comes in cookie form. The rosemary hazelnut cookie from Bakeri to be exact. Omg this cookie. I would never have thought the combination of Rosemary, chocolate and hazelnuts in a baked good would be so delicious. It doesn’t hurt that these are served warm from the oven. Nothing better. Except maybe their double chocolate, cherry and macadamia cookie… my second soul mate. Me and my friend sat here for a good hour enjoying these cookies with coffee and we loved every second. The bakery itself is also very welcoming and the staff is very nice. This is one of my favorite spots in williamsburg and it should be yours too. They always have creative pastries and breads to try, just make sure you have cash on you or you’ll be the saddest human ever when you can’t buy a glorious cookie with your credit card.
