Really strong cocktails so ill give it that. We came 30 mins prior to closing and they let us in but the whole time it was rushed. Why let us in if your going to make us feel awkward especially for the price of the cocktails. Dont rush me. Or I will tell Unilocal

Just visited for the first time last night. LOVE this place. Absolutely was not expecting it… We got there just as the band was finishing up their set shortly before 11, so we only heard two songs, but definitely dug the music. The bartender was super friendly. I ordered the New Fashioned, which was delicious. The place was pretty full but we were able to snag the last open table. The vibe here is just really great. We’ll be back!

This is a little gem of a place… the cool, eclectic neighborhood joint with a character all its own that you wish was in your own ‘hood but you’re more than willing to travel to. The fantastic live music and the inventive custom cocktails would each be reason enough on their own to go. Great charcuterie, cheese, and fresh focaccia to tide you while you’re there.

Fantastic spot for a scrumptious cocktail, great atmosphere, and excellent music(and not too loud either!). Perfect for a chill evening with a delightful cocktail or wine as well as some charcuterie and cheeses. The staff is friendly, knowledgable and always in good spirits. A wonderful addition to the neighborhood! I’m looking forward to many nights at Bar Lunatico.

Bar LunAtico is the only place like it in New York City. It is owned by 3 amazing musicians who do everything they can to make it a very special place for musicians to perform in, and for people to come hear music and socialize together. It is a magical place with amazing food and drinks and a great atmosphere. I am so lucky to get to go there to hear music, and play there. Even just hanging out there is amazing. I notice that a few of the reviews on Unilocal have people who are upset by being asked not to talk during the performances. Here is what I have to say about that: As a performing artist, when people talk during a performance it literally feels like needles are being shoved into our hearts. It is the most hurtful thing we can deal with. At least when someone heckles the performer they are paying attention to the show. Bar LunAtico has live music from 9 – 11 every night(sometimes 8 – 11.) This is the point of the establishment. When someone is playing the guitar and singing, they are in their most vulnerable place as an artist and a human. And believe it or not, they are doing it for YOU. They are doing it so that your feel something from their music, and are taken to another place for a brief moment. They do it to entertain you. Bar LunAtico does not even have a cover charge for the live music, it is only a suggested donation. I have heard some of the best musicians in the world play there. Anyone who protests their right to play for a respectful audience is being insensitive. If you come to a bar with friends and see that it is not the atmosphere you want(there is music to be listened to) you can simply leave rather than disturb the performer and audience. This is a lot kinder than staying and disrupting the performance. Please consider this.

Came here a couple weeks ago with some friends and really enjoyed it. The décor and the vibes are great, a really nice cool local spot. We came on a Tuesday and there was a great band playing and it was really full! Unexpected for a Tuesday night, so you must know it’s a good spot. The bartender was friendly and the other patrons were laid back, nothing rowdy or obnoxious there. I had the New Fashioned, which I really liked. Would highly recommend this place!

Super weird experience at this place last night. I went with four friends from the neighborhood and none of us had been here yet. We initially loved it– super cute space, good drinks, etc. But then the bar owner started playing guitar on the stage in the back. It was nice to have some music, but we went out that night to talk and catch up, not to listen to music, so we weren’t paying close attention. We were sitting at the table in the very front, under the windows, the farthest table away from the stage. During the owner’s last song of his set, his wife came over and asked us if we would please be quiet and pay more attention to the music. Yeah. So… we quickly finished our drinks and spent the rest of the night drinking cocktails at Casablanca. So now I’m confused about what this bar is. Are you not supposed to go unless you want to sit quietly and listen to music? I’ve never been in a bar where the management told paying customers to quiet down and listen to the band! Especially when there was no actual band there, and no cover charge… it was just the bar owner playing his guitar! Next time I want to meet friends for a drink in the neighborhood, unfortunately I’m going to hesitate to go here. Don’t want to get shushed again and be forced to sit in silence…

I’ve only been here once and it was a good experience except for a small problem at the end. I left a negative review and the owner apologized, and I felt like a real heel. This is basically your ideal neighborhood bar and I don’t want to do anything to contribute to depriving this neighborhood(which is not my neighborhood) of their ideal neighborhood bar, so I edited my review. Great cocktails, too.

Found this little gem while on a walk. Charm for days. I would have given it 5 stars, if it weren’t for the no personality bartender. This dude(on a Tuesday) was as dry and so not personable. Replace the grouch on the other side of the bar and I will give it a 5! ’

If you’re visiting Bedstuy or live in Bedstuy and you haven’t come in, drop everything and check it out. They serve delicious one-of-a-kind drinks & there are always musical surprises to be had(I mean… Madeleine Peyroux?! Just inches away from you?!) — so cool.

The ambience here is super cool, a little rustic and cute. Bigger place than I thought from what pictures tell. The music playing last night, can’t recall the name of the band, was a little psychedelic and funky and brought a great vibe to the place. I had the creole moon cocktail & hubby had the margarita of some sort, both delicious and unique. Will def return soon to this place, especially for the happy hour spritz!

Very fun spot in Bed-Stuy. I happened upon this bar with a small group of friends(thanks to Unilocal) on a Saturday night. We arrived around 10:45 and got to enjoy the live band that was playing. It felt very New Orleans-esque. A great spot to spend a rainy Saturday night out. Drinks were not obscenely priced either. The vibe is great. The place is small, but there were plenty of seats. Would go back. Only downside was that it’s very loud, but when there’s a multiple piece percussion/brass band what else can you expect?

Love the live music, cocktails and the owners are so welcoming. This spot is intimate. Great for a secret date. Romantic. Love the stage with the piano tucked in. Love, love, love. Try the Oldgrey cocktail, and the authentic Ama beer.

This is a great spot, well hidden in Bed Stuy. Cozy, homey atmosphere. It honestly felt like a café somewhere in Tuscany, except in Brooklyn. It had cool vintage décor with a good bar menu with interesting selections. The staff is also friendly, and they made us some excellent drinks. They often have some great musical acts there too. Great place for a date if looking for somewhere that sounds good and isn’t too loud. We will definitely be going back. Worth a visit! Have another 5*

Bar owners are awesome and welcoming — you feel like you’re coming home when you come to this bar. Great drinks make it all the better too! Glad to see places like this popping up around here.

Current favorite cocktail on the menu: Creole Moon — pretty sweet but a great concoction — give it a try I was extremely pleased with the service and the level of care taken to preparing each cocktail I tried. You pay slightly more per cocktail than Casablanca, but you get a few more options and more creative pairings in each cocktail(no knock intended on Casablanca — I still like that place a lot). Our bartender was friendly, knowledgeable on the menu and solicited feedback on each serving. When I told him that I had misordered(i.e. the cocktail I had was too strong a flavor to go with the meat&cheese board we were enjoying) he offered to make me another or get me a water. I thought this was a very kind gesture. The meat & cheese board was very generous and a high value given the $ 16 price. If pressed, I would probably prefer the board at Eugene & Co, but give the price, the value on the Bar Lunatico board is much higher. We were in after midnight so there was no live music and they happened to be out of bread, but nevertheless it was a wonderful experience and we will be back. Recommendation: great spot for an intimate drink with an old friend or a date.

This place has only been open a few months, and I’ve only been there once, before they were fully settled in, but sometimes you just know. This is going to be a neighborhood favorite for years to come. Great tunes and great vibes. Feels like your living room. Love that they salvaged the Liquid Love Lounge sign. I’m a mile away now and about to move closer and Lunatico is a big reason for the move.

Disclaimer: I live one block from here and the distance alone has be ecstatic. With that said, this place is awesome! Live music, great cocktails, great décor, everyone’s friendly. How often do you get to step into a bar with a live caribbean/african band that features a tuba player? Favorite drink: the Sicilian Iced Tea that featured a sprig of rosemary… heavenly.
