Such a lovely place to hang out on a weekend afternoon. We loved the big orange bay windows.

The staff is incredibly friendly and the back deck is a hidden gem. We didn’t know they served food which was a lovely surprise(pasta is amazing!).

Chill little bar. Great bartenders. Barely any standing room on busier nights, much less a place to sit, but so be it.

I already miss it. When I lived in Brooklyn, this was a fantastic spot to take anyone and hang out. Great food and drinks. The prices are very fair and the service top notch. The bartenders are very friendly. It’s kind of the perfect neighborhood bar, frankly — it serves so many purposes well.

Been going there for ten year… Wrote almost my entire 30 page grad school thesis while sipping their Stella and using their wifi. Fantastic vibe. The owner is really nice. She always says hello when you run into her in the hood. Filled with some pretty great Danny Clinch photos too!

Stopped by Bar Sepia on New Year’s Night since we watched the New Year’s fire work show by Grand Army Plaza(Prospect Park). The place was packed to capacity but that did not affect available space. The place is not overly spacious but the owners are very cognizant on how many people should be allowed at any one point. The music was great as they were playing a mix of 80’s pop, hip hop, free style, and current hits. The mixed cocktails were strong enough and at normal Brooklyn prices. The owner herself was dancing while running the place. I can see she had great passion for her business, which I love to witness in all business owner’s. We have a couple that lives on the same block of the bar and I plan on coming here more often as I had an amazing time. Thank you for your service to the public!

Chill neighborhood feel with bar backs that treat your table like a dining experience — we got water refills and a huge pipe of napkins was delivered to us when someone in our group sneezed. Fast service and nice to actually be able to hear your entire group. Plus clean bathrooms.

This place is awesome. The music isn’t too loud, it’s not too crowded, they have some decent bar food and the people who work there were very friendly. Will definitely go again.

Went here to catch up with a few friends on a Saturday night. A great local place, a few people hanging out at the bar, talking with the bartenders. Very cool vibe inside and decent music playing. Most of all, the bartenders were super nice and made great drinks. The specials are very reasonably priced and delicious and unique! I was drinking gin and tonic, but had friends get the specialty cocktails. Drinks were mixed well and delicious recipes. Overall, definitely recommended as a casual bar, cool ambience, and great for relaxing and chatting with people over good drinks.

Super nice service — love the bartenders and the owner is such a lovely pleasant lady. It’s such a hidden gem in prospect. Fav go to neighborhood bar — we try to Go there every week and it’s never disappointed us till now. Laid back, unpretentious and lovely. Recommend.

After checking out the Grand Army Plaza Open Market this weekend. YES, it’s back finally! Happy dance, decided to come here with a friend since it was the nearest bar to the library and museum and all that jazz. Was pleasantly surprised that they have weekend happy hour from either 3pm or 4pm until like some ungodly hour of 3am? $ 5 wells/drafts/$ 3 bud light bottles. That’s not too shabby, especially for a Saturday afternoon. They had Abita Amber on tap too and she poured it with a nice frothy head that seeped onto the counter. It was delicious. The music selection was pretty great. They also have antiquated lamps and mirrors hanging all over their dark red walls. One of their hanging lamps I swear looked like the egg sacks from Alien. Its a little bit dark and dank but I think they have a very small outdoor patio in the back for when it gets warmer. Great small neighborhood spot that I would have never thought of checking out if it weren’t for Unilocal’s handy dandy ‘where is the nearest bar locater’.

Omg, it’s life in sepia! (I hate people who say that. Wtf does that mean?) This is a pretty sweet bar. I was here on a Saturday night after going to the Brooklyn museum. It was crowded, full of young people, with quite the vibe. There was a good selection of beer and, yes, it is sepia.

I like the fact that it’s never super crowded everything I go there… unlike other neighborhood bars in Prospect Heights. Very laid-back, warm and homey ambiance. Great décor with the grand window seats, exposed brick and wood paneling. Lots of locals and the music isn’t overwhelmingly loud, good for conversations. They were holding a burrito/Taco night in their nice backyard patio one night from a pop up restaurant from Cali. From what I heard, the food was good. Also, they let you deliver food at their place! The service can be sporadic. The bartender I started out with was attentive. She was quick and versatile with substituting ingredients. The next bartender who replaced her was less available. Oh well… Interesting cocktails on a good price. It’s good to also see some of the owners walking around on the premises. If they had food on the premises, it would be perfect. Best bar in the area with great potential and creative ventures(movie nights, trivia nights, pop-up restaurants).

Cool place… but why is it always empty? I kind of don’t know. Maybe I come on the wrong nights and at the wrong times. Unfortunately that does add to one’s experience since I can drink at home alone on my couch if I so choose. I’ve been here several times and like the fact that they consistently keep Magner’s Cider on hand. The prices are reasonable as well. These things make me happy in life. I do wish that they offered some good snacks but I guess if you had the urge to eat during the daytime, then Cheryl’s is open next door. Once the night hits, you’re out of luck. The staff was pretty cool about my group bringing in a birthday cake during my last visit. This is a great place if you are planning a group outing. + let’s be honest, where else are you going to go on Underhill?

The bartender called me a trendsetter when friends followed my suit and ordered the Angry Orchard Cider on our second round of drinks. That’s how friendly and funny they are here. Although this bar is somewhat small with an outdoor patio, it felt spacious. There’s plenty of seating, including a long table towards the back that comfortably fit 9 of us. While they do have a kitchen and serve food, it’s not open for dinner so they give you a binder with delivery menus. Fortunately, The Islands(my favorite West Indian Caribbean spot in NYC) delivers so we were able to not only enjoy cheap drinks in a laid back bar but also delicious food! The delivery guy failed to pack in cutlery and napkins but the bar had no problem giving us their cutlery and napkins for us to use. They do accept credit cards here, $ 10 minimum. They do have two small flat screens that show sports. I only know of Washington Commons and Franklin Park in the area so I’m glad to have been introduced to another great bar nearby!

Solid bar on the south side of Prospect Heights. The bartenders are friendly and know how to keep ya coming back. The place even has a friendly patron base. It gets intense during a «First Saturday» over at the Brooklyn Museum but they have more people on staff then to accommodate the crowd. Not many bars over here on Underhill but if you ever find yourself off the beaten path going down the block I’d recommend you step in.
