Best brisket in NY. Everyone talks about fette sau but shit tastes like it spent a decades at crossfit. Thick cuts of delicious BBQ with the beer to match. I’d recommend Sundays with your team, proper pints, even frozen booze but don’t be there with a live band.

This bar was always fun but now that they have a new pitmaster, the food is AMAZING!!! You have to try the Mac/cheese and the brisket is better than any place I’ve been to – and I’m from the South. Seriously, you MUST go here. I can’t say enough about this fun, delicious venue.

Food is hit or miss. I’ve had amazing brisket on a few occasions, but the chicken wings are smoked and in my opinion, inedible(rubbery and flavorless). The mac and cheese varies wildly from pretty damn good(creamy and cheesy) to totally dried out — I don’t love paying $ 9 for the equivalent of day old kraft mac and cheese. There’s one great lady bartender, but the rest are bitchy and totally disinterested in doing their job. Beer and bourbon selection is great.

Beast of Bourbon has hands-down the best happy hour in the area. From 4−8pm 2 drinks for the price of one?! Sign me up! I really like the long picnic tables(makes it good for groups) and DIY service — for the people complaining about not being«waited on», you don’t have a waiter/waitress, you just go up to the counter or bar and order or ask for something yourself — which I like. More time to carry on a conversation and catch up with friends. The craft beer selection and infused bourbons are my favorites. They also have rotating frozen drinks weekly — nice if you like sweeter drinks. Being a North Carolina native and a former BBQ restaurant worker — I’m very critical when it comes to my meats. BOB could definitely do a bit better when it comes to rubbing down & seasoning the meat before smoking(BBQ isn’t JUST about the sauce, people!) Upon tasting the pulled pork and brisket with no sauce added, it just has a basic faint smoke wood-chip«meat» flavor, so that was a bit disappointing — spice it up! I do like that they have all the different varieties of BBQ sauce(Tennessee style mustard based, Carolina style vinegar & pepper based, Texas/Southwestern spicy, & then the classic sweeter tomato-based sauce.) My boyfriend and I got some mac n cheese to try and then ended up going back for a second helping! I’ve never been here during a packed peak time or have seen any of the live-music acts, so I can’t speak to that. However, if you want a casual, quiet drink & some food with friends or a loved one — come during a weekday afternoon/the early evening. Can’t be beat!

Such a split review* The bourbon selection is Dope so it’s worth it *the first time I went the place smelled like vomit and I had to leave ASAP so I was afraid to go back but on my second time I had a blast

Love this place. Haven’t had the food but the selection of bourbons and beers won me over. Definitely going back for the passion fruit bourbon frozen drink!

Came here once for a beer event thank-you brunch. The space is pretty cool; basically a big beer hall. Location is out of the way, even by hipster standards I’d suppose. Regardless, I love the idea of a bar centered around rock and roll, beer/bourbon, and bbq. No band this afternoon but they seem well equipped for one. The beer list was good but not as amazing as I was hoping for. Some good options like Founders Dirty Bastard, but nothing too crazy. At least the list is long and the prices reasonable. Some good deals on whiskey too but I didn’t try that out. For food I just grabbed a frito pie, which is probably my favorite Texan food item. The frito pie was good, but not quite bursting with flavor; they didn’t season it as well and pull out as much flavor from the chili I would’ve liked. From what I ate I think they were trying to highlight the meat more, but this just left it blander and even so the meat quality wasn’t special. Keep it simple, Beast: it’s chili dumped on top of fritos, stop trying to elevate it to another culinary level. For $ 7 this was an acceptable deal. What wasn’t was that I had to wait a good 20 minutes for this. All the guy behind the counter had to do was make sure the chili was hot, dump it on the fritos, and ask me to pay. It doesn’t take 20 minutes, but it might if you’re too busy talking to the other staff and not serving customers(to be fair the bartenders were better). While I appreciate the prices here and what they’re trying to do, Beast isn’t really my scene. If it’s yours and you’re nearby, definitely try it out though.

I was first introduced to this spot a year and some change ago, when it was a little less of a rock-inspired BBQ joint. I had been waiting to bring a guest here for some time as he is something like Ron Swanson, so I naturally assumed he would love it. As I mentioned before my first experiences with this place it lacked the rock and roll murals and music. It seems at some point the business had a bright idea to appeal to a specific audience… My guest nor I was that audience. As soon as I walked in I felt out of place. However this review is not about my emotional well-being but the food and ambiance. There was a decent sized crowd and we received our food promptly. We sat at the bar and the bartenders where friendly and nice. The food… They definitely know how to smoke some meat. The meat is seasoned deliciously albeit it a bit on the spicy side, no need for sauce. Which was great because the sauce was GROSS all of it! It was hand made nasty in a bottle. I also had the potato salad which was good too just a little bit soupy for my taste. Like the potatoes were literally swimming in whatever sauce they used. Over all it’s a decent spot, I am not a fan of the new theme but the meat alone is worth the stop.

Disappointing. Used to be so much better, but it seams like they keep changing chefs or something. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it!

The ambiance keeps me coming back. Although, some of the bartenders are not attentive or friendly. For example, this female bartender completely ignored my friend and i for a good twenty minutes before asking someone else to take our order. In the mean time, she flirted and had free shots with a very good looking male patron. Maybe if i were a good looking man with a beard and a muscle T, i would have had better service from her. I regress, not all the bartenders are as inattentive. Danielle is nice, attentive and makes good recommendations on liquors to try. Scott(i believe is his name) was a very good conversationalist and easy on the eyes :). He was also very attentive and just had a very calming vibe. Food: definitely try the ribs. They are awesome!!! The angry mac and cheese was very tasty but the angry mac and cheese was too spicy for me. I did not like their mixed frozen drinks but they change them all the time so maybe you’ll get a better one.

Not a bad find. Really smoked wings. Cool ambiance. Not so good mop smell. Skip the nachos. Corn chips with beans. They should call it chill.

The meat is good, don’t get me wrong but it is incredibly over priced. $ 2 for a tiny piece of cornbread? Ordered the Mix tape expecting tons of food to split with two people(I mean, it’s $ 28.). Got one piece of brisket, three ribs, three chicken wings, and two of the tiniest sides ever. Didn’t like the angry Mac(had a weird taste, some smoky spice I wasn’t digging) and the cole slaw was boring. It’s good — but to me, very expensive. Delivery was fast and the guy was polite though!

Hands down the best ribs in Brooklyn. Everything I’ve tasted, Angry Mac & Cheese, Collard greens, corn bread, it’s all been a delight. I’ve never had mac & cheese this good before, and I know good m & c. I order from here at lease 3 to 4 times a week… it’s that good. Let’s not forget the BBQ sauce, it’s like heaven. Keep up the good work Beast of Bourbon, so far so so so good!

Had a late lunch here this weekend. Very nice beer selection. Friendly folks working there. The PB&J sandwich had everything I like! Pork Belly, Brisket and Jalapenos! The space is great, big and decorated neatly. Looking forward to coming back here later at night for some rock and roll and bourbon

I’ve been here about 4 – 5 times, and each time I’ve ate/drank here, the experience has gotten shittier and shittier. Don’t get me wrong– the people who worked here were friendly! I liked them, hence, 2 stars. But it’s not enough to bring me back to their hellish food and drinks. Lemme start with the somewhat alright aspects of this place– the hillbilly nachos. It was a hefty 8 bucks… for a petite iphone 6 plus sized basket with a sad little heap of nachos, beans and a few scraggly jalapenos on top. You’d kind of expect more for nachos, especially 8-dollar nachos(I know, what was I thinking.), but was enough to feed my cat, for one meal. Proportions were way off– more beans than nachos I’d say. The«nachos»(frito-lay corn chips…) were buried underneath the beans, not that there was enough to begin with. Skip the pulled pork sandwich or any sandwich really– The pulled pork sandwich I had here before was just so small…(it’s a trend here– small portions for the outrageous prices… cost more than decent bbq places in manhattan for this quality) You really needed to douse the lackluster meat with the sauce, which were also not the greatest quality, but it was something to mask the unremarkable meat, for a remarkable price may I add. As for the drinks– out of the ball park terrible. One swig and I wanted to throw up. This was readily confirmed with a friend. Bad night for frozen drinks maybe? If you WANT to vomit quick and throw 8 bucks away, please, be my guest– purchase the mint julep frozen drink. I think if you want to be safe, stick with the beers. Skip the food and frozen drinks. However, we won’t be coming back here again. But we will miss the friendly peeps. You guys aiight.

This is a great new addition to the neighborhood. Huge space with 2 bar areas that are separate; the main area has live music, tons of tables, and BBQ! The other has a DJ and is more cozy. Great beer selection, friendly staff, good service & awesome food. Great place to have a birthday party. Highly recommended.

Everybody has an off night. Maybe they did, maybe I did, but my old review can stand testament to whatever happened that night. It’s a different story now. The atmosphere is much the same — gruff exterior, charming interior, much like many of the patrons. They really outdo themselves in terms of TVs — anywhere in the bar, you can watch whatever’s playing. The drink selection is quite expansive, and a touch confounding. You’ll need to appreciate either uncommon beers or American whiskeys to really grasp what this place has to offer; I personally enjoyed the taste of home with the Southern Tier’s Pumpking. The food on the latest go-rounds was much improved. I revisited the pulled pork sandwich and was far happier, and I also enjoyed the rack of ribs. They were meaty, they were tasty, they were exactly what I was hoping for. Next I’m looking forward to giving their chicken a try. It’s still pretty expensive in comparison to other local options, but when it comes to Bed Stuy BBQ, they don’t have much in the way of competition.

We headed here on Friday afternoon cause my friend said they had great drink specials. We all ordered frozen drinks(whisky) I think. Tasted like a coke icee with crown, which I actually liked. We ordered the nachos thinking it would be enough to share… but it wasn’t. Didn’t really enjoy the bites I did have– the beans on top were good but just not enough flavor. Still hungry we ordered the bbq wings. Meh. Just ok.

Perfect. If your craving Bourbon and want good eats, come here. Love the ambiance, unpretentious industrial meets grungy. I sat at the wrap-around bar although they also have several cafeteria style tables for groups. Not only do they have an amazing selection of Bourbon, Rye and Whiskey, they also boast a great variety of beer on tap. Not only that… they have amazing slow cooked BBQ with house made sauces. SEAN recommend the pulled pork and I’m glad he did. I picked smoked mac and cheese and collard greens for sides. Did I mention the happy hour? Happy, happy.

Quality BBQ, and this is coming from a Kansas City and St. Louis native. We liked the ribs the best. Try all of the sauces. Some look very different from the way they taste(they all tasted great!). Mac and cheese was excellent! One of the best things was that there was no wait, no long lines. The bar has an excellent selection. The music was heavy metal/rock. We went around 6:30 pm on a Friday night with a toddler and it was pretty kid friendly, high chairs and all, as long as u are ok with blaring music. The space is massive so there was plenty to explore and look at to keep our 3 year old occupied.
