This place truly adds something special to the neighborhood. It’s a charming little grocery store that has all your organic needs. I particularly enjoy the dispensers. There’s something about weighing your rice and beans that brings back my childhood. Weird, I know. I have yet to order at the juice bar and deli. I will definitely come back for more. All in all, it’s worth the extra bucks because everything is fresh and organic. I’m glad a place like this exists in the area.

I love this place. There are literally NO quality/local grocery stores in this area of Bed Stuy so whenever i’m looking to splurge and get an insanely delicious piece of meat I come here. They also have great juices, fresh produce and awesome spices. Like I said, its the legit only store in the area that has anything resembling good meat, so its a must visit.

maybe it was off day at this place. i really wanted to love it as i live in the area and an constantly looking for health food stores. this one is very small. i was there sunday feb 14th. not much chicken to choose from. only 2 pks of bone in breasts so i grab one, along with my other things, and asked the girl if the chichen was organic. she kinda stared at me for second, said nothing, and slowly, unsurely nodded her head. um… ok. then when she did speak, she said«were all organic now». didn’t like the snotty attitude. not much of a selection on the produce, and almost nothing had a price on it.

Absolutely love this place! Everything is super fresh and store is immaculate. Where else in Brooklyn can you find such fresh produce. Love it! Definitely plan on patronizing this store.

It’s a great store. We go there everyday. The owner and stuff always very helpful. Never had bad experiences shopping here. And I like their food from their own kitchen, it tested fresh and good quality.

I decided to stop in this local shop for some produce since it is directly across the street from my sons school. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of fresh produce this little place carried. They have a bit of everything here and the prices are more then fair. I was greeted right away which was really nice, but I was given the freedom to browse around without feeling stalked. I picked up a few produce items, some spices and even a fresh loaf of bread. This is a small local business I will be proud to support.

Love this place. Super-fresh veggies and the best prices on grass-fed meat around. The crew here is also incredibly nice and fun to talk to. A+

Great selection for a small, local grocer. The employees are super friendly and helpful. I don’t mind spending some more money for quality, local food. They keep a good stock of fresh produce that never looks rotten.

I have really enjoyed having Bed-Stuy Fresh and Local conveniently located just a block from where I live. During this last Winter in Brooklyn, it was a God sent. My favorites are the grass-fed Arcadian Pastures meats and Murray’s Free Range poultry. I really like the selection, they are really in line with the way my family eats. For the most part the staff is very attentive and courteous! And it has been nice to see Dylan their on most of my visits. However, I had a terrible incident with one of the employees early this Spring. His attitude and nasty disposition first got me asking what’s the problem? This had not been the first time his attitude was bad towards me. I asked around and others I know agreed that he can be very rude at times. I don’t know about others, but this is unacceptable when it comes to customer service. I won’t even talk on the level of «good customer service.» Having served this community for many years I know well the challenges of merchant ship. You won’t be able to please everyone, but I have been a loyal and regular customer. What I do know is one rotten apple can spoil the whole bowl. It will also affect the moral of the other staff, not to mention put customers off from doing business with such a great little local market.

I came here for a quick coffee and maybe a snack. The store seems great in concept but lacks in overall execution. The table inside isn’t meant for actual seating apparently, based on the crates of produce preventing anyone from using that space. Additionally, the service was mediocre, if I’m being ncie about it. The folks working here when I came in seemed like they wished they were elsewhere — no one really acknowledged me when I entered and I was immediately repelled by the silence of the space. I left to seek out another coffee spot, but returned minutes later, electing to not walk another 15 min for an iced coffee. The wifi and coffee could be stronger and I’l probably never come back.

Was hoping to get some breakfast from Mandy’s next door but they were closed — I guess due to the holiday weekend. This place was a cute find. They have a small juice bar next to the entrance and fresh fruits and veggies. I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich and it was«meh». Not bad but not amazing. I also ordered a pressed juice which was delish.

They started serving brunch about a month ago. The owner dude and rest of the staff are really cool and the crepes and food we got were really f’ing good. The croissant French toast was of the hook as well. It’s a communal style eating arrangement with a single table, so don’t come here to be waited on our anything. Just good food made with love, good coffee, and awesome music playing.

Great place for all fresh & organic veggies! And now they have MEATS! Dillon is an awesome individual and on point with all his products! Love, love, LOVE shopping here! Even now that I am way past making/birthing/raising new babies & being organic doesn’t really matter THAT much for me… I’m still trying to be «healthful» and this place makes it much more easy for my old ass! Dillon and Fresh & Local may add another 10 years to my time here! LOVE it!

The best source in the neighborhood(though F&L is not always completely reliable with stock, particularly on the weekends) for fresh fruits and vegetables, farm deliveries of meat and those packaged products you find at bodegas in fancier parts of town. I like this place and I think they do a good job for what they are — you can certainly get things cheaper at other stores but you come here b/c you believe in the mission of this store.
