Our new go-to place in Bay Ridge for pizza. Never been to the restaurant but order quite a bit via Seamless. Our new favorite is the Sicilian but their regular slices are great too.

Amazing take out dinners for great prices! I used to love Vesuvio’s back in the day before they expanded and the quality of their food dropped, since then Ben’s is the first Bay Ridge place to come even close with the take out dinners. They make great baked clams, raviolis, francese sauce and the shrimp parmigiana is freaking amazing! and all for half the price of the current Vesuvio’s entrees for takeout. Everything tastes freshly made and their sauces are really good, and I’m a picky Italian B**** when it comes to sauce.

Ben’s is LEGIT. Neck and neck with the best pizza in the Ridge. Fast delivery as well. And the buffalo wing style pizza is completely bananas. I don’t normally go in for non traditional pizzas but maaaaaaan. Some of the sides aren’t very good — their wings are atrocious — but the core product is spectacular.

I ordered Rigatoni a la vodka with mushrooms via Seamless and when I get my order, there is no mushrooms. I call Bens Pizza, tell them I asked for mushrooms with my Rigatoni a la Vodka and they tell me «Sweetie mushrooms is extra this is why we no give to you.» Umm I know mushrooms is extra and it would be nice if you just added the mushrooms to the meal and just add to receipt or call to let me know that mushrooms are extra like other places do. The food was not great and bad customer service.

I ordered from Ben’s via seamless at 7:15pm, expecting delivery as they say 30 – 45 min on the site. It never came. I called the restaurant at 8:45pm inquiring about it and the gentleman said he is busy. He said give him another 5 – 10 minutes since he is waiting for the delivery man. I called back again at 9:15pm and he said that he is still sorry, but is busy and delivery man not back yet. I asked him to just cancel the order and he said ok, but I must go thru seamless to cancel and again, that he is sorry. I was very disappointed never ordering from Ben’s before. However, I know, I will never even try Ben’s ever.

I decided to get a quick slice here since I was a whole hour early to my yoga class, I got a thin square slice since, it looked so good. It was a little crunchy but good. If I happen to be in that area again and feeling a bit hungry I may just get a slice there.

Ordered delivery from them for the first time — the food arrived over an hour later and cold. I got the basil mozzarella pizza and a couple beef patties. Once reheated, the pizza was good, but not anything spectacular. Same goes for the beef patties.

For as long as I can remember, Ben’s Pizzeria is where my family has gotten their pizza. Any special events, parties, birthdays, graduations, you name it – we always bought a couple Ben’s pizzas with different toppings and all the relatives were thrilled with their food. To summarize, Ben’s pizza(when baked fresh) epitomizes what it means(at least in my mind) to be the perfect Brooklyn-style pizza, and I would know – being born and raised in Brooklyn(well actually, I moved to Brooklyn when I was two but. close enough). My main suggestion: don’t buy by the slice. Order a custom pizza – whole. The slices or rolls they’ll warm up for you aren’t good, they’ve been sitting out and drying out all day so they’re not fresh, and they can’t compare to the food this pizzeria is capable of producing. Therefore make sure you order a whole pie with custom toppings(a la extra mushrooms, breaded chicken, olives, etc etc. whatever floats your boat) to ensure that your pizza will be made to order. When this pizza is done right, the crust is TODIEFOR, the pie isn’t over-sauced(which I prefer, but they have no problem adding sauce if you ask), the cheese is flavorful, and the toppings are always fresh, vibrant, and plentiful. The owner is nice, the employees are good at what they do, and the prices are decent and well-worth the food you get.

One of our go to places for basic Brooklyn Pizza. You can’t get this in Omaha, Cape Cod or even Long Island! Tender yet crispy crust with flavorful tomato sauce and wonderful cheese. Also try their Sauteed Spinach, it is fabulous! Delivery takes about 35 to 45 minutes and don’t look for a coupon or a break, there isn’t any.

It’s fast and to the point. Like another reviewer said: easy in, easy out. And there’s something about their pizza. It’s basic but god is it delicious. Double up on napkins because there is a ton of hard to manage cheese on these beastly slices.

Across the street from the Pearl Room. Good, basic, white slices. Easy in, easy out.

Question: if a pizzeria is simply located in New York, does that necessarily mean it makes ‘great New York pizza’? No, right? Otherwise, how would you fail a label like that? Ben’s is located in New York, yes; and Ben’s makes pizza. But Ben’s does not make ‘great’ New York pizza. It simply makes a product that fits the basic pizza definition. It doesn’t stand out in one’s consciousness any longer than it takes to swallow the last bit you just chewed and gulped down. Sorry…

Great pizza at great prices! Ben’s hot is unreal… just so darn good! The Laura slice is amazing as well with tons of chicken on it –yum! Generous portions, no tiny little pices are served to you. The chicken tortellini soup is great on a cold day or when you’re not feeling well. They have tons of other varieties of food, wraps, stuffed eggplant, stuffed mushrooms, stuffed peppers and the list goes on!

I give Ben’s a 3. Would have given them a 3 ½ if it was available to give. Have been here a few times when in town visiting family and they always have a solid slice. On this trip I tried the plum tomato and mozzarella and the Grandma slice as well. The plum tomato slices were very good. Cheese melted perfectly, very good dough and crust. And overall good slice. The Grandma slice though was given to me a little too early and the mozzarella all came off the slice when I bit into it. A big pet peeve. If it was a little hotter and melted correctly this would not have happened. Now, other than that little mishap with Grandma, overall everything I have had here has been very good. It is not world class, but definitely very good. One of the reason I did not go to 4 stars is because the staff in the early afternoon is not the friendliest. I like being greeted with a smile and a how are ya, but the two guys I have seen so far were just not that friendly or outgoing. This is just a personal thing for me. I would go to the 3 ½ for the delicious Italian Ices in the back room that no one seems to know is there. I always get a lemon/cherry combo. Perfect way to end the meal.

Why is it so hard to find good pizza in bay ridge? This place is not the exception. Ben’s makes some of the worst pizza I’ve ever had. This is the 2nd time I’ve been here, and both times they made lousy pizza. If you guys want to drum up some business– stop being so cheap and please put some sauce on your pizza. The pizza is so dry and dull, its almost inedible. So pizza lovers, if you wanna satisfy your cravings, just head straight for Nino’s.

My new favorite Bay Ridge pizza joint. My go-to’s are the mozzarella(with fresh basil leaves placed daintily on top, yum) and the classic, unadorned plain cheese. The crust is crispy outside and doughy inside, the sauce is the perfect balance of zesty, garlicky, basil-y, and sweet, and the cheese is just right too. Not too greasy either. Delicioso…

What a great neighborhood pizza place! I had the Grandma Style Pizza and it was done perfectly. Crust was crisp with lots of cheese and just the right amount of sauce. They also had more traditional slices with tons of different toppings including the buffalo chicken pizza another reviewer mentioned. I came here on a weekday afternoon as school was getting out, and it was cool to see the owner talking to the local kids. He asked one group of teenagers how their grades were and actually got a smile and a civil repsonse!
