The best west indian food in Brooklyn! Roti, soup, callaloo, curry chicken; you name it.

Great cornmeal porridge, but pricey $ 4 for a small. Breakfast is typically the best meal of the day here. The tilapia/bake codfish/bake is touch and go; amazing some days, bland others. I’ve tried lunch and dinner #nothanks the 4 stars are for the cornmeal porridge, which is consistently delish.

This place was recommended to me by someone from my church. I wanted to celebrate my birthday with some Caribbean food, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered Oxtail with Peas n Rice, and a Double. Well, my double was literally thrown together. It was mush wrapped in a roti shell… nothing like I have had from other establishments. The oxtail with Peas and Rice was just OK. Next time I will get my food in Queens at Trini Delites…

I find myself going here often because it’s close to my partners place and we walk in optimistic and walk out with the same thought each time«I don’t know why we keep coming here, they are so damn rude.» The women in the back are BEYONDRUDE. The customer service is clearly not their priority, the money is. I went there on a Sunday morning and what a pleasant surprise it was, the men there was SOOOOOOOOOOOO much better than the women. They clearly cared. That is definitely my pet peeve, spending my money at a place with horrible customer service. The food is really not all that but its not terrible. Ok DISHES: Chicken Foot Soup Rice & Peas with Jerk Chicken w/jerk sauce Cheese Pies Curitans Roll

The food is great and for the most part consistent. Not a huge fan of the veggie roti as it’s literally potato and channa and cabbage if you’re lucky. The prices are sketchy however. If they’re out of an item they’ll charge you the same price for the meal. I.e. A container of just macaroni for 9 dollars, likewise a meal including macaroni, rice, cabbage, and a protein for 9 dollars as well. Unfortunately, I’ve had to stop my frequent visits due to the terrible customer service. You think they’d value customer loyalty? Not so much.

Seriously though, I can’t let this slide. I was born to eat doubles. Seriously. I have quite simply the most advanced doubles palette ever assembled. Because of this, I eat as many doubles as possible, and I’m not afraid to try doubles all over the place. I always walk pas this place so I decided to stop in and get some phoulourie and doubles. The phoulourie was good, not great, but good. The doubles on the other hand… were flat out bad… terrible even. They didn’t have tamarind(what?) to put on the doubles, so i got pepper and mango, and that still couldn’t save it. It just wasn’t good… at all. I’ve never had anything else here, but I can’t see myself going back to this place… especially since i’ve heard from other very reliable sources that their food is not good… pretty much all the time…

Food is extremely tasty and nicely portioned. However, horrible attitude and customer service. But worth it for good food and great sorrel.

Fond memories of getting driven here to get food when I lived with my mom. The roti was divine, the ox trail was juicy, the macaroni pie was great, the calaloo was rich and warm. I always got a meal from here on sundays(after my mom moved to albany). The sea moss makes me smile and the mauby is top notch. The food here is reasonably priced and though there is always a line people usually take their food to go. One memory that still pisses me off. I sat down for a meal with my laptop and trendy wifi hotspot, I finished my meal and like a responsible individual I discarded my waste then proceeded back to my computer. Shortly after the owner asked me to leave… yea he did. We almost got into a brawl the third time he approached me. We decided to talk it out instead. From our discussion we realized that his employees are liars. They told him that I didnt purchase a meal, instead I just came in and sat down with my «fancy laptop, and small box(my wifi)». He apologized and offered a free meal for the misunderstanding. If you decide to chill here after your meal I strongly suggest you retain your used dish, cup, and eating utensils as proof of your patronage. Also check your change, if they could lie about you purchasing a meal then stealing your money isn’t a far cry. *cash only*

Omgeee how I miss this place soooo!!! When my dad used to live in Flatbush from 96 – 2005, this was THEESPOT! Especially for breakfast… I remember when they were located in a tiney building on a side street closer to Utica ave. Anywho, Best Bites has some of the best Trini food! I haven’t eaten there in 5 years, but somehow my mouth still waters for their bake and saltfish, currents rolls and porridge! They would give you two fried bakes(or a huge slice of coconut bake) and a nice serving of saltfish and salad on the side! I used to stop here every morning on my way to school! The staff is really nice as well(assuming they still have the same staff). I promised myself that if I attend any labor day festivities this year in Crown Heights, I will make a special visit to Best Bites for old time sake!
