We have probably came here a total of 10 or so times and must agree with other reviewers that the quality of the food and service is slowly declining. Let me start off with the fact that the letter grade has declined to a C over time. It’s hard to describe, but the salads and appetizers became rather bland and the rolls are not as crispy and fresh and come out sloppier with each visit. It’s a shame, because it was one of a few all you can eat sushi places we actually enjoyed. We haven’t gave up on the place all together and very much hope that there will be changes in the future, but at this point it’s a mediocre experience.

I came here with my friends at 12 when it just opened. We were the only ones in there so the service was pretty good. However, the seaweed salad was submerged in green water and it was very carelessly placed with speckles of green on the plate. Also, the raw fish tasted very rubbery.

This place is the new«sake» to me… Their food is pretty decent and probably because they’re still new, so the food is actually not bad for AYCE. Food always seems to come very fast for me though. Never had problems with the speediness.

Love the food and service here, come here to eat dinner a lot with friends. Love the way they make their Kani salad and all their rolls. They have avocado in almost every roll, avocados are my favorite. Highly recommend this place to everyone!

The fish was fresh, the rice was good, seaweed is crunchy but where is our food!!! The service was just horrible. I came with 3 of my other friends and there was nothing we asked for that was not repeated at least 2 or 3 times. We placed an order and we waited 30 mins for that order(there was only 5 tables at the time). When we asked the waitress where is our order, she said they can’t find our paper so we would have to place another order. There was 4 sushi guys making the order and only 2 waitresses. I feel management here isn’t well organized and everything seems all over the place– with service, staff and their ordering process.

The service was absolutely terrible here. If you’re a new sushi spot competing with all the other all you can eat sushi, there must be something you can do to show customers that we should choose you over other AYCE places. Everything I ordered took FOREVER to come. The lady didn’t speak much. I only had the assumption that she doesn’t speak English well because she didn’t speak much the whole time. The food is like typical buffet sushi quality. I ordered the mussels and they were like rotten or something. There was a very putrid smell coming from the mussels at least like 5 feet away, how dare they even bother serving that. They were trying to play stupid pretending that they didn’t smell that and tried to bring out another order but forget it. Bottom line, this place will not earn my money and I will not be back.

This all you can eat sushi joint is okay. The menu is very similar to «Sake» where they give you a paper and you check off what you want. We were here for dinner and tried various appetizers, rolls, special rolls, and sashimi. Everything was not bad. They don’t use a lot of rice in their rolls, which is a big plus. The price is almost($ 20) per person.

–great service! waitresses were friendly and they, unlike the waitresses at sake, actually took the time to place the plates onto the table. I didn’t actually have to help them clear the table –food was AVERAGE! the shrimp in shrimp tempura was soggy. there wasn’t enough mayo in the kani salad. the wasabi wasn’t even spicy even though I put a lot. this is one of the reasons why I prefer sake but since I literally live a few blocks away from here… –kind of expensive for the quality

Sushi joint is now shot down, and instead you could come make your own soup for $ 33 per person, 2 hour limit. WTF? Yeah, you right! Hahaha!!! Just go out of business, it will cost you less to do it straight.

This place is so bad yet so good. It was a meh experience for me. Pros: — AYCE sushi is always a pro for the right price. — A lot of variety in appetizers and sushi rolls! The special appetizers on the bottom is a must try. They are actually pretty good and the right portions; not too much and not too little. [Not the golden fish balls though. DONOTTRY]. — Free wifi for customers. That’s pretty neat. — The restaurant is pretty spacious compared to a lot of small ayce sushi places I know. BK Sushi is probably about twice the size of Sake @ 86th street. — The sushi pieces were not to thin nor thick. It was the right amount served with rice. Cons: — Sashimi Platter is horrible!!! The fish is not only bad but tasteless and still cold in the middle. You can tell they prepare the«bad fish» for the sashimi platter by the discoloring of the fish. — Even though the fish served in the sushi pieces was«fresher» than the one served in the sashimi platter, it was still meh. I mean, obviously you wouldn’t expect high quality fish at an AYCE place but it wasn’t decent either. — The service was also mehh. Like most ayce places, they always mess up an order or miss something that you ordered. OVERALL: The only good reason to come here is for the ayce appetizers like the salmon tartar or tuna tartar or the special«one per person» appetizer choices. If you are looking for good — or at least ‘decent’ ayce sushi then I would recommend going to another place like Kawaii that actually serves decent(but larger portions of appetizers) or if you are willing to pay more, go to ayce places in Queens.

All you can eat! However the sushi was so thin you can see the rice right through it. The uni wasnt fresh, service was ehh didnt seem line they cared. The sashimi platter was okay, but the fish didnt look fresh at all.(looked like it was already prepared before i got there) I see a lot of ratings that this place is good, everyone has their own opinion and mine is that sake on 86st is better. The only good thing about this place is that there was no waiting for a table on a saturday night.

All you can eat ~ such a great idea! But not with their jumbo sushi :( This place was good when just opening . NOW, Sashimi usually is dark color, Sashimi Sushi made with 7⁄8 rice and 1/8sashimi btw. The rice is always falling. I’m not sure this is a special way to earn more money from their customers . I got all the rice in my plate bc eel sashimi sushi’s rice keep falling … When the lady saw my plate with rice. She said I should not eat that way. At the end, they say they will charge rice by lbs… Btw, they still charge you each desert for 3 $ NOTALLYOUCANEAT

I can never pass up an opportunity to try all you can eat sushi. Friends had spotted this place and we decided to come here on a Saturday night. Already crowded but got lucky with one last table for six. We ordered almost one of every special roll which were all good. My favorite is the Sakura roll with tuna on top, shrimp tempura and philly cream cheese. Food came at a decent time, although it could be faster. Service was slow but I guess its normal for AYCE places. You had to wave servers down each time you needed something. Make sure you know what you ordered because we didn’t get everything we ordered so we had to put in another request. It’s a big space, clean, well-lit and feels like it has a lot of potential. All they need is to fix up their service.

I have a real funny feeling this relatively new AYCE sushi joint at 18th Ave is either somehow related to Sake, another AYCE sushi joint further at 86th St, Brooklyn or they really really believe imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. They have almost the same exact business model, menu, and even the same ordering sheet with the same fonts as Sake. Hell. It’s so similar that I might as well copy and paste part of my Sake review here too. Wait… that’s not too bad of an idea… *Copies and paste from Sake review* For a AYCE sushi place, they make all the food fresh when you order them from their paper menu which you check off what you want. No minutes or hours old premade stuff here. You order any sushi and they would make it for you from their army of sushi chefs. You order any of the cooked food and it comes piping hot from the kitchen. The sushi rice is actually warm and the nori is still crispy. Is it great sushi? No. Is it more than above average sushi. Yep. Most are pretty good or at least decent. They are pretty generous with the amount of fish used on the sushi. They don’t don’t try to fill your stomach with cheap carbs from the rice unlike most other AYCE spots that serves sushi. All the«spicy» versions are beyond mild. No hint of heat at all. If you are a fan of those, get ready to be disappointed. Other than that, I have few complaints. Two of the items are limited to 1 or two orders per person. I’m surprised they even offered them at all. These are: Sea Urchin, 2 pieces. Sashimi appetizer plate, 1 order. Here are a few pearls of wisdom. Unless the $ 6 you save from going to the AYCE lunch is important to you, I highly suggest you spring for the dinner AYCE. They have more choices with some higher priced(and tastier) items that are not found in the lunch version. A few examples of some of the things missing from the lunch AYCE would be seaweed salad, sashimi, sea urchin, some of the more complex special rolls, etc. It’s basically missing about a quarter of the dinner menu. It’s All You Can Eat. They mean that. Stuff your face till it’s full. Wobble home after ordering dozens of time. They won’t bat an eye. BUT. remember the CAN eat part. Anything you can’t eat unless it’s a very few pieces, you would have to pay extra for. Don’t over order. *Copy and paste done* Ok. Now that we got the similarities out of the way, I’m now going to lower 1 star for this place compared to what I gave Sake for the following reasons. Their cooks for the hot foods isn’t as skilled. Some of the stuff that I absolutely love at Sake is only barely passable here. Examples would be their crispy salmon skin being less crispy and their teriyaki salmon being a bit more dry and less flavorful. The eel they use here for their rolls doesn’t seem as well marinated. I love my eel sushi so this is a major disappointment. It costs a dollar more for dinner here as compared to Sake. $ 18.99 vs $ 17.99.

Argh If you would like to add a hint of frustration to your evening dinner. Then swing by! This establishment is very new, the place is huge and relatively clean. There’s one big problem. The place is sooo big but they do not have enough staffs to serve people! There’s not enough people working here !! In addition, they constantly make mistakes with the order . To order, you will need to fill out this sheet indicating how many pieces or roll/sushi/appetizer you wish to have .We put our order in at 7:40pm and we got half of our food at 8:20… Half an hour later. Then we asked them again for our food. They said they will look into it … Nothing. So we decided to put another order in 10 minutes later. Waiting for 15 mins. Only one out of 12 things we marked Came out !!’ Ahhh!’ At 9 pm, our fried calamari came .note, fried calamari was marked on out first order we placed at 7:40. It only took 1 hour and 20 min !! At 9pm. We only got 33% of our food and I am only half way full! Adding to frustration, they came to our table 4−5x with the wrong order !! «No, sir, I didn’t order the spider roll. No sir, I didn’t order this piece» sigh! Never coming back again until I hear better things from other people Ps sashimi is not all you can eat. Only 8 pcs per person.

A friend of mine told me that a new All-You-Can-Eat sushi spot was opening up in the neighborhood and we agreed to try it out when it opened. I typically don’t like to try restaurants that just opened, but because we’re a bunch of sushi nuts, we gave in. We went on a Saturday night and I made early reservations to insure we would get a table without a long wait. We arrived at 8:45PM which is the time of our reservation. They didn’t have a table ready for us and we had to wait about 10 minutes. The price for dinner is a little expensive: $ 18.95, but there’s a variety of items to choose from. We had a lot of food, it was hard to keep track of what we exactly had. The sushi was mediocre, not the best. It felt a little hard and didn’t have that«amazing» taste and texture. The seaweed and kani salad was pretty good and tasty. The salmon and chicken teriyaki was delicious. We ordered three rounds of food and it felt as though the service and pace was a little slow. I know Bk sushi just opened and with new restaurants can be slow when it first opens, but even when Sake is filled with customers, the service and the pace is quick and food comes fast. Will I be back to Bk sushi? Maybe not. The price is a little expensive and you can really get amazing and better quality food at Sake.

this place is new to the neighborhood. i drove by about two weeks ago and saw the sign and i didn’t give the place much thought until a friend of mine went this week. his pictures on his facebook prompted me to come here tonight for dinner. i usually go to chikurin on 86th street for some sushi because the rolls are cheap at $ 2.50. AYCE sushi places usually disappoint me because the quality of the fish they use isn’t good, the portions are usually filled with a lot of rice and they force you to eat everything or else they will charge you. i came here on a thursday night at 7pm, which is prime dinner time. my immediate reaction when i walked in, was wow. the décor is really nice and it was clean. a clean and nice modern looking restaurant gets a lot of stars in my book. the tables are set up communal style so during the busy times, i can see you sharing a table with people you don’t know. the service was really great. everyone working there was so nice and i was really surprised. typical chinese owned restaurants usually have workers that aren’t really friendly, but they still do their job. i was surprised at how friendly everyone here was. they speak mandarin, cantonese and english. they also kept going around and refilling everyone’s tea and water which i thought was amazing. i didn’t even have to ask and my cups were refilled when i barely even drank half a cup. talk about great service. spicy crab meat salad — i’ve never had this before and i wasn’t sure what to expect, but this was good! the crunch they put on top made it even better. it isn’t heavy and is light so i can see it being an immediate favorite. the only thing i felt was that it wasn’t spicy. seaweed salad — this was good too. you can’t really mess up seaweed salad though. it was very fresh and it was on top of a bed of thinly sliced cucumbers. calamari — my calamari came freshly fried and was in the shape of an onion ring. i love fried food and these were good. there isn’t much of a calamari taste though so don’t expect that. the spicy chili duck sauce complimented it well. yaki-tori — these were chicken pieces on a skewer and they were okay. we only ordered it to try and now that we’ve tried, we’ll stick to other stuff on the menu. this dish comes with two skewers. shrimp tempura — these were good! it had a good amount of shrimp and it had a nice batter to it. the only thing wrong was the small portion of ponzu sauce. harumaki — these are basically spring rolls and they were good! the portion size was great and it comes with two. i recommend this. now on to the sushi — all of the sushi was amazingly fresh. you could tell the fish was quality fish and not some cheap sushi like most AYCE places or chinese owned sushi restaurants. this alone deserves 5 stars since this amazed me and i wasn’t expecting this type of quality. i am used to mediocre sushi quality at these type of places, but this was no where near mediocre. spicy salmon tartar — this was good! they add some crunch with it and you can tell the quality of the salmon was good salmon. the only thing i wish was for it to be more spicy. spicy tuna tartar — this was great as well and i liked it more than the spicy salmon tartar. i loved the crunch with it and i think i could just sit there and eat this all night. spider roll — this was good as well and they are generous with the shrimp portion. you could also tell the shrimp was fresh! crazy lobster roll — i wasn’t really a fan of this. i expected more. i didn’t really like the lobster salad mush much since i was expecting a different texture. my dining partner liked it though so it is a personal preference. playboy roll — this was really good! i loved the spicy crunch inside(although it could have been more spicy) and i loved the tuna on the top. best of both worlds. eel — very tasty and delicious. no bones. dancing tuna — the spicy crunch tuna inside and fresh tuna on top was out of this world. this was my favorite roll. i love tuna and this was fresh tuna and just amazing. scallop — these scallops came on top of rice and they were really sweet! they give you generous portions as well. i wish they had spicy scallop rolls like some other restaurants. i recommend this. sea urchin — i don’t normally like sea urchin. i’ve had it countless times in st marks, chinese AYCE places, tokyo, and hong kong. it’s just i don’t really like the taste and texture. my dining partner however said it was good and he is a fan of uni. rainbow roll — this is your typical rainbow roll. while it was good, i would give this a pass and try out their other specialty rolls. you can get this anywhere so try the new stuff! pink lady — this was also one of my favorite rolls. there is tempura inside along with spicy tuna and avocado. i love to eat these 3 things alone and all of them together in one roll was just amazing! i recommend this.

Oh gosh! I know it’s AYCE sushi place and should not expect much fom it. But come on. At least show some respect on food. Came in on a Sunday night. No wait. A lot of empty tables. The experience is so far so good. Until the food came. Uni– limit to 2 per person. I could not even shallow it.(I’m an uni lover) it’s so smelly to a point I don’t even know what’s in it. Rolls/sushi– the rice is cold and hard. Feel like eating path mark sushi And of course, the fish on top is paper thin and look dull. We just order one round of sushi and that’s it. It’s how bad it taste. Ok. Why two stars? Because the hot dish is pass-able. Fried rice. Nice and hot and have variety of ingredient in there. Salty. But not too oily. Teriyaki chicken and salmon are ok. Service is fast. So, I don’t think I would want to go back. If I’m craving for sushi next time, I just go back to those on 86 st.
