Been coming here from time to time more or less for half of my life. Some things change but mostly stays the same. It is roomy, has a lot of tables, also has ping pong, is open late, and serves alcohol. So with those things in mind, it’s pretty good. However, and partly due to the same things that are its pluses, with these things come its minuses. Outside(where there is also a sub-par café right next door) there is a constant congregation of drunkness, loudness, and smoking. Crowd varies greatly. Aesthetically it’s not the cleanest place, staricase and entrance are usually dusty and smoky. If you are a ping pong player, the good news is that there is a separate room for it and quiet a few tables. The bad news is that there is no central air conditioning, the room is very closed, no air, the window units don’t really help and you will be hot and dripping in no time. Guess it makes it for a better work out :) so it has its plenty of minuses, but the convenience and everything else it offers earn it four stars. Should they care enough they can easily make that place much better.

I go here all my life. Anytime I feel like going to hang out with friends and have nothing planned, we come here Prices are good. Now they have the $ 10 for 3 hours of pool. It’s almost free.

My first time was last winter; it was freezing outside, couldn’t wait to get inside to warm up. To my surprised, the inside was even colder! oh no, how could I possibly enjoy my time inside if I’m too busy shivering? My second time there wasn’t any better. Old men everywhere who do nothing but stare at you. How uncomfortable! I go there to play pool not be watched by random old men. If I wanted that, I’d go to a club instead. My third time there, oh no; did it smell like urine. Why is it that everytime I go, there are always something wrong? Is it always my luck or is there something seriously wrong with that place. My sisters enjoy pool so we go because it’s the closest thing to our home. No more, I’d rather take the time and energy to go somewhere a bit further for better quality for the money we spend.

I’ve been going to pool halls for a very long time, this place is much cleaner than a lot of other billiards places that I’ve seen. They maintain their tables very well, the balls are clean(hah, other places like their balls dirty), oh, and is that new felt being put on tables?! I don’t go to pool halls to dilly dally so I do enjoy quality tables and service. Plus, there’s beer for the people who want to chill out and shoot the shiz. Did I mention that the place is HUGE?! Service here is great, staff are funny people who genuinely care about pool and don’t think it’s just any run of the mill job. Prices are great too. I’d definitely recommend this place to other folks who fancy pool.

Decent place to spend an evening entertaining yourself if you can’t find anything to do. You can play american pool, russian pool or ping pong. Fairly large place with many tables. All the tables are in fairly decent condition. Not really chill kind of ambiance, just a regular pool hall. Prices are fair per hour. Bathrooms are kinda nasty. They also sell beer. Has several TVs around if you want to watch a game. Not much to say about this place, does the job of providing a table to play.

The entrance was less than welcoming, as plywood adorned the 2nd door, as other strewn construction debris continued inside and up the second set of stairs. As I have been spending a lot more time in the area, I was thinking Sandy was the culprit as the Brighton Beach area was clearly heavily affected by the storm. The billiard hall was appropriately dim, lacking the smokey halls of years past which for us non smokers is a great relief.(IE: Paul Newman in the Hustler) Tables are older but roll true, the cue’s are mostly constructed with a new lightweight material I was not familiar with, every stick felt light to me. The beer and soda was refrigerated, but not many degrees under room temperature, upon consumption. A 55 degree Corona is just unpleasant, with no service to order and no snacks to be had, fortunately my company is a chocolate addict and keeps a stash of other treats close at hand. Boardwalk needs to make the minimal adjustments to address this small but important matter, in my opinion. The men’s restroom rivaled that of the most unkempt and oder emanating restrooms to date, it was brutal. The Turkish music in the background was not to my liking, but it was from a jukebox so no points off there. At six dollars per person per hour, it is a fair value as to pricing but not for overall experience.

Just recently went here for the first time in years(over 2 years?) This place has gone through a little bit of renovating, and looks better than i remember it. They updated to what I believe is carbon fiber pool sticks, and created an enclosed area for their ping pong tables. Both are much needed improvements, and make it a much more enjoyable experience. The place has several tvs, in case you want to watch a basketball game or baseball game while you are there. They have a small arcade and a snack bar for chips, ice cream, beer, etc. Definitely a nice spot to hang out, if you have some time to kill. It wasn’t crowded when I went on a friday night. The only complaint I can think of is that their ping pong room is a little small, and that the people that seem to normally play there like to put baby powder on the floor. I don’t know why they do it, but its annoying and seems like an accident waiting to happen.

A great spot to hang out with friends. The place is on the second floor of the building. The place is clean and well maintained with many billiard tables, air hockey, table tennis, and video games. They also have a limited food and drink menu. Overall, this is a popular pool hall for those people who are in the area. By the way, parking is very difficult to find in this area. If you can take the bus or train. Also, the Boardwalk is within 2 blocks walk and is a perfect place to come and enjoy the evening with friends!
