Bonafide is my local bodega and I couldn’t be happier about that. I stop by once or twice a day, usually to buy a random grocery item or a can of seltzer water. On occasion I get a sandwich and they are always really delicious. In the winter I like to sit at the little counter in the window because the sunshine pours in and it feels warm and cozy. During the summer there’s great sidewalk seating. The décor on the inside and outside is very classy, who knew a bodega could feel kinda fancy! It’s run by a wonderful family who are always so so nice. I feel proud and lucky to have this place at my fingertips :)

Stayed in Brooklyn for a week. Every morning started off with a coffee and sometimes breakfast from this little gem. Food is excellent. Prices are so low, cheaper than back home in CT! Service is quick and friendly. Highly recommend stopping in to anyone looking for inexpensive coffee, or a light breakfast or lunch.

Omg amazing!!! I rarely stray out to this area but when I do I always make it a must to stop by and grab one of their warm sandwhichs. Perfect as perfect can get. Also, great selection on drinks and chips along with other misc. items. Great Bodega!!!

They have a walk-​in beer fridge here. I never knew that was something I needed in my life until I saw it.
So yes, they have a crap ton of different craft beers. They take credit cards. The lady behind the counter is nice.
They also sell stuff that isn’t beer. But that’s no concern of mine.

We moved to this area about 4 ½ years ago and this place has been the oasis across the street from us. The people who own and run the store are the nicest people ever. Their sandwiches are not just made they are «crafted» with care and love. In fact, I just had a reuben that was not only the best reuben I have ever had but may be the best sandwich I have ever eaten period. I recommend this place to everyone!

I would love to give this place 5 stars but roaches are everywhere; atm, coffee cups and all over the rolls. The health department needs to get involved if they are not going to do anything.

Surprisingly in the back you can go into the fridge and explore the large selection of beer they have in stock. They also make great sandwiches. The egg platter is one of my favorites.

I ordered a chicken cutlet sandwich… Im in love. so fresh, the place is clean and it was a great price. Im going to try other things from the sandwich specials… oh yea and there is every kind of beer I would ever want in the walk in fridge. thats awsome.

Much more than a deli… In a pinch, you can throw a meal together by shopping at Bona Fide deli. I love their veggie delight sandwiches which sustained me one week when my stove top was broken. Yummy snacks, great coffee and fabulous owners. Great neighborhood spot!

I live about a block and a half from this place so have been here numerous times. The owners are all extremely pleasant and I love to support local businesses. But they have a cockroach problem! I spotted them twice! Both times, near the coffee area. Once should have been enough for me but twice-​yikes! I also noticed that they cover up their grade outside of their store? Not sure what’s going on there.

I wanted to like this place but they have a major roach problem. Please buy some combat and call an extermination team its pretty serious. Post a reply to this when you fix the roach problem and I will give you guys another chance.

Super bummed. As shown in my previous reviews, I really did love this place and frequented it several times a week.
Until… I found a cockroach. In. My. Iced. Coffee.
The owners were very apologetic when I told them what happened, but admitted that it’s an old building and that they do have bug problems.
It makes me so sad to say this, but, never again.

Words cannot describe my love for Bona Fide. Their coffee is superb, their sandwiches delicious elixirs; in 20 degree weather I will gladly walk past the bodega downstairs and venture to this piece of heaven.
They have an incredible beer selection, as well as homemade baklava and other desserts. The men that work there, as well as the family that own it, are all incredibly pleasant and polite– it truly is a neighborhood gem.

Fantastic place with fantastic sandwiches. Everything is fresh, the owners are extremely nice, the place is very clean, well stocked, and looks nothing like a corner deli/​mini mark. Stop by for a coffee or something if you’re ever in the area!
UPDATE: If you have one of the two Spanish guys in their late 20s, early 30s taking or making your order I would double check your food before you leave, I’m not sure if their English is bad or just their listening skills but nearly every order they’ve made for me has been wrong in some way, if it wasn’t for them I’d give this place 5 stars for sure. If you have the older gentleman or the lady getting your food they are not only very good at getting you exactly what you want but they are very nice and hospitable as well.
