NEVER USE BREEN ELECTRICAL CONTRACTING! A CROOK FOR SURE. This is what Breen did to me.
I called him to install a new light fixture, explaining that I might need a plumber first because of a gas line connected to the old fixture. He said that his men could handle it. The night before the work I called again because I thought he was making a mistake and we would need a plumber. He came to my house AND SAW WITH HIS OWN EYES what the situation was and said no problem. The next morning 5 men show up, and in 3 minutes they are yelling that there is gas and they can’t do the work. They also handed me a bill for their «services.» Of course I refused to pay. I went ahead and had the gas line capped, then called his office to make an appointment to have Breen finish the job so I could pay him. He refused to do the work and still wanted to be paid. He took me to court, warning me that I would lose because he «had a friend at court» (meaning he had the judge in his pocket, I assume). He did, I lost. Cost me hundreds.
In response to Breen’s reply, below: Breen NEVER DID THE WORK HE WAS HIRED TO DO. The necessary plumber’s work that he told me NOT to do, I eventually did. Then I called him three times inviting him to do the job so I could pay him, and he never responded. HE NEVER DID THE WORK AND YET DEMANDED PAYMENT. Not only is he a crook, but now all who are reading this can see that HE IS A LIAR also.

Just wanted to report my miserable experience with Breen Electric. We hired them to run a 220v line for an air conditioner and to move an electrical box. The quality of the work was fine; everything else was MISERABLE.
First, a job they said could be done in a week took almost 3 weeks. Second, they charged 50% more than other contractors (long story why we went with Breen instead). Third, they left the place a mess. I can email anyone a picture of how Breen left our newly finished space — garbage, soda cans, towels and a permanent scratches on the newly finished floors. Breen was demanding payment even while his workers left the place looking like this. (I also have another photo of our backyard which was also littered with his trash.)
There are many good electricians around, Breen Electric is simply NOT one of them. Don’t give them your business unless you want to run the risk of delayed work and a damaged home.
