My regular eyebrow spot was closed and I NEEDED them done that day so I came here. Big mistake, left my eyebrows uneven and no shape. After telling her 3 times I didn’t like them I gave up with the fear she would mess them up even more. Staff is rude to customers. Never coming back!

Terrible place. I wanted them to clean my eyebrows and now I barely have any left ! Should have checked Unilocal before just walking jn a random store.

I never have high expectations for these places, but this spot really lacks technique. First, they aren’t very welcoming and then this particular girl who did my eyebrows mainly used scissors to shape my brows. One is clearly way thiner than the other and I feel that anyone who does eyebrows knows that thiner is not the best route to go. Overall, extremely disappointed knowing I have to now wait until my eyebrows go back to normal.

Never again. My first time coming here and the younger girl did my eyebrows for me, she didn’t seem like she wanted to do it but she came anyway. as she was doing my eyebrows, I felt a sharp pain and that moment I knew she cut me. Then she went on to the other side of the eyebrow and when she was done 1. It looked like I haven’t done anything to my eyebrows, 2. I got a big linear cut on my right side. I stood in front of the mirror looking at it and I looked at the girl, she just looked at me and turned away. At least say sorry? How rude. I’m never coming back here again. I only came because I wanted to get it done to go to a wedding tomorrow and since this place was right where I was. but thanks now I’m gona have a huge cut, that hurts and burns. I shouldn’t have even tipped her.

Been here a few times and no one here is ever friendly. I told the lady who was doing my eyebrows I wanted them«clean». After she was done I looked in the mirror and to my dismay they were way too thin. I will definitely never come back here again and I do not recommend!

First time here. I think she did a good job… I grew out my eyebrows for as long as I could so that they can be reshaped. It was a clean job and quick.

Let me start off by saying I’ve been getting my eyebrows threaded for 10 years, and have been coming to this place every two weeks since July 2012. After yesterday’s experience, I will never set foot in here again. The salon is a tiny hole-in-the-wall near the 86th st train station. I usually go after work(weekdays after 6pm) or on Saturday mornings, and normally deal with a pleasant, quiet woman who gets the job done. For the past two months, however, I’ve been forced to deal with a heavy-set woman with serious body odor and an obnoxious attitude. Yesterday was the last straw. I walk into the salon and ask the smelly lady if the salon accepts credit cards(I’ve always paid in cash). She says«yes,» and ushers me to the chair. I ask if I can add her tip to the credit card, as I have no cash on me. She says«yes.» Cool. I sit down in the chair, she starts threading my brows. She asks me if I want my upper lip done as well. This is not uncommon, as most salons(and businesses, in general) try to up-sell you. She, however, asks THREE times during my five minutes in the chair. Really? I don’t have a mustache, homegirl, so back off. And try using deodorant because seriously, it’s getting harder to breathe through my mouth. To add insult to injury, she answers her cell phone while threading my brows; how professional. So at this point, I have an awful-smelling armpit in my face, accompanied by squawking in my ear, and a new-found insecurity about my(non-existent) lip hair. And probably fucked up eyebrows because this woman couldn’t resist answering her cell phone. Lovely. Finally, the threading is over, and I’m hoping I can at least make it to the street before I vomit from the stench(I know this sounds dramatic, but I’m completely serious). I take out my credit card and hand it to Smelly Lady, and she tells me the total comes to $ 7.30. Normally, the bill would come to $ 7 when you pay with cash, but they tack on the thirty cents because that’s what the credit card company charges them per swipe. Mind you, this is completely illegal, and also was not mentioned when I originally asked if they accepted credit cards. But I don’t mind the extra charge, there are many small businesses in Bay Ridge that do this, and I’d prefer to support local business. So I don’t say anything. Smelly Lady then asks how much tip I want to add to the card. Apparently, tip needs to be added before the card is swiped. Normally I’d give a three dollar tip, but this experience was especially crappy and my brows didn’t even look that great. I told her to charge $ 9 to my card, making her tip $ 1.70. Kind of a dick move and not something I would normally do, but I was irritated that the extra credit card charge was not mentioned from the get-go, and really, she is just the worst. She then tells me, «Your total comes to $ 9.50.» Sorry, what? I said $ 9. «Yes, but with tax, comes to $ 9.50.» You’re «taxing» your tip? Apparently, they impose their own«taxes» when customers use credit cards, probably as a way to persuade them to use cash. I informed her that not only was this illegal, but she never mentioned the extra«taxes.» I refuse to pay this. Another salon worker steps in and repeats the same thing. Then they start talking to each other in an unfamiliar language while smirking at me. I tell Smelly Lady that I found her to be offensive and rude, and she laughed and said, «I am not rude to you, honey.» Because laughing at a customer and calling them«honey» isn’t condescending, or anything. So i told her to scrap the $ 9 and only charge me $ 7.30– no tip for you, ‘honey.’ Who’s laughing now? Bottom line, this place will never get money from me again.

Good prices, clean salon and very helpful salon personnel. They will not rush you out and take their time in crafting your brows to perfection and desire. $ 7 for eyebrow threading, very affordable!

A newly opened salon right off the R train station on 86th street. They offer services from facials to waxing to threading. I went in for eyebrow threading for $ 7. It was okay, I was hoping they would do a cleaner job. I could still see the little hairs around my arch area. They said it was due to ingrown hair from tweezing and so they were unable to do it. After threading, my eyebrows were also slightly mismatched. I needed to go home to retouch them with tweezers. Since it was my first time, they gave me a card to come back on the 10th time free. I’m only going to be back because its close to where I live.
