I grew up in this library over 20 years ago and boy has it changed! It’s very spacious and they have a wonderful staff but the crowd can be annoying. There are kids walking around, talking loud sometime, and constant buzz around the computers. Another thing is the security guard. Kind of weird to see him playing video games with a staff member in the recreation room. But I guess times have changed. Other than that, I still come here to study during the day when it’s more quiet. They also have a number of classes and seminars throughout the month, so be sure to check the bulletin board. It’s still the wonderful house of books I grew up loving.

I love free books! And if you live in the area, you should come here. Their computers are new and their internet is definitely not sluggish**. Keep in mind that computer wait times vary depending on the time of day. For those of you aren’t familiar with Brooklyn Public Library’s check out, here’s the run down: Take your book over to the kiosk. Then, scan your card and the book’s barcode and you are good to go! You can also reserve your book online. Once reserved, your book will be in the reserved section(there’s a huge sign), wrapped with a paper with your last name on it. ** How fast is there WiFi: Most of the people using the library’s desktop computers are using it for web surfing. And there are a good number of patrons connected to the internet via laptop(the times I’ve been there), while the library desktops are being used and the internet is still stupid fast!
