The buffalo chicken pizza is amazing! It’s completely unhealthy of course, but makes for a great treat now and then. It’s a thick crust pizza with tomato sauce, mozzarella, chicken, buffalo sauce, and blue cheese. I’m also a big fan of the Sicilian slice. Like others have said, the family who runs Buon Gusto is very nice and always makes sure to say hello and good-bye. I do have to admit that the thin crust plain cheese slice is not as good as Espresso or Elegante however. I live right across the street from Nino’s and I’ve never understood the appeal of that place. I’d much rather walk a little ways to Buon Gusto for something much better!

The pizza is decent, not exceptional. Not a lot of personality to go around though. I’ve tried the regular slices and the grandma slices, which have more flavor. There’s not much to it, but they havent made much strides in the few years that they’ve been here. It shows in the pizza too. Challenge the status quo and more importantly, my tastebuds, already! You’ll come here if you dont want to trek another 2 – 3 blocks to another neighborhood pizzeria.

Ordered pizza twice from here since then, and both times the pizza was disappointing. Nothing like that first experience. Guess it was just a good night. Really a shame. Thought I found my ideal spot for delivery! Guess I’ll have to trek to Espresso.

Of all the pizzerias in Bay Ridge that I have tried throughout my years, this has been my go-to by-the-slice place for the past two. Their grandma slices are delicious and their sicilians are just the right amount of thickness. Had pizza delivered for the first time a few days ago. Arrived nice and hot and within an hour. The one thing I would change about this place is the eating area. There is so much tile covering the surfaces that any sound(ex: dragging chairs) just bounces off the walls and seems to be amplified.

Its our favorite place. The owner is awesome and remembers my husband because he frequents it at least twice a week. The Grandma slices are pretty awesome. The staff there is all about customer service. We order our pizza, grab a soda from the machine and sit down. They bring our order out to us and we pay when we leave. Its unheard of!

Anomalous in the way they keep the walls bare. We were victims of an Italian Mothers uncompromising stare it was late, they had slices, no other pizza place around «these better be ‘to go’ cuz you guys aint sittin down» «we closin» yea we gotta go, already late (husband jumps in) — «aaay guys, wanna box or a plate?» at the silce window, delivery boy pokes in (now wife to boy) — what did he say when you brought the stuff in (boy) — «well, nuthin– he just said get lost and talk to Tony» (wife) — «well thats da last time we give DEM guys free pepperoni» ate the slice, pretty good, nice and neat, folded slice, no drip of grease upon my feet and then you might ask about foldability very good, but this place lacks hospitality

The thing to have in this place is the granma’s pizza. I had 2 slices of it, and a take home order of garlic knots. It was quite yum. The chunky tomato on top was good and the mozerrella cheese was really good too. Very crunchy crust as well. I have to say they aren’t cheap though. 3 bucks I think for a slice that isn’t really filling on its own. I don’t quite know why the prices aren’t listed on the board, it’s kinda strange. And try to avoid the times after school gets out. It was chaos with the kids, packed to the gills, barely got a seat to enjoy the granma’s!

It was here that I first tried vodka pizza. And it was so amazingly delicious that I didn’t even feel guilty sending out our friend back out into the cold, windy night to get another pie, just 40 minutes after we’d ravaged our large one. The staff is really on top of their customer relations. When our pie came out with a large burn hole in one of the slices, he offered to replace it free of charge. The only complaint I have are the prices. The second time around we had to get a medium pie to cut down on our costs for the night, but it can probably be chalked up to another unfortunate side effect that the current economy has had on these smaller pizza shops. When it’s this good, I can bite the bullet and drop a few extra dollars, but not too often.

I happen to love the pizza here… have been to several different pizzerias when I first moved to the neighborhood 3 – 4 years ago and when I finally found this one I stopped going to any other pizzerias. I cant say that the regular cheese slices are great but I always get the specialy pizza like the Al Fresca with fresh mozzarella, fresh tomatos, onions and mushrooms — it is my favorite by far! It’s kind of a deep dish but with a crunchy crust which is great. You can tell that the mushrooms are not from a can, they are fresh. I also had some of the other specialty slices and I liked them all so far. The place seems clean but they could imporve on their drink selection. I would recomend Buon Gusto to anyone and everyone.

Relatively new place that hasn’t quite hit its stride yet. We just ordered pizza from them and were probably(accidentally) overcharged. Medium 2 topping, small salad and a small coke for almost $ 27. Nino’s would’ve been that price with a large, and they’re already getting too expensive. On to the pizza. Not as good as Nino’s in my opinion, although it had more sauce, which I like(most don’t). Sort of greasy in the way a Domino’s pizza can be. Pepperoni was nice and spicy, but not a huge amount of toppings. Definitely an average NY pizza. There are better pies to be had in the area. Might try there again but get one of their«specialty» pies. It seems like they have an extensive menu, so maybe I’ll tack on something from that.
