I’m not sure why people don’t like this place. Everything seemed fresh and fairly priced(I usually shop in LIC so maybe I am just used to high prices). The pierogi in the refrigerated section were fantastic.

Don’t shop here. Their products are often expired and almost always overpriced. People who work here have no respect for customers and they lie. We bought a packed salad and realized it was expired after 2 days of buying it. We wanted to exchange it. They knew they sold us an expired product and admitted it. But they refused to give us a new salad or money back because we waited more than 24 hours to return it. Guess what? I don’t obsessively go over the expiration dates the minute I buy food. But I expect a refund when I bring you an expired product bought AFTER the expiration date. SHAMEONYOU for being so cheap and for lying into my husband’s face. And for taking the bad salad away and refusing to give it back, to hide the evidence! These morons also will pack the food YOUPAIDFOR into other people’s bags. And when you come back for your missing stuff they will tell you in your face that they don’t know what you’re talking about. Stay away from this place and go to Garden or other stores around. Save money, get better food and be treated with respect.

Pros: * The store is very clean. * Good hours. * Decent selection of non-perishables Cons: * Everything is way overpriced. Even when they have things«on sale!» the price is more expensive than most of the bodegas, organic food shops or competitors in the neighborhood. Their sale prices are even more expensive than the huge KeyFood a few blocks away. * The perisables are depressing — especially the produce. It is overpriced and not fresh. Everything is prepackaged into saran wrap. They do a good job at being the supermarket you have to shop at, but are definitely not the place you want to shop at. Just look at the checkout lines: you rarely see people with full baskets or buying more than 5 things here, meanwhile baskets are overflowing at the neighborhood bodegas and competing chain grocers.

C Town aka Crap Town. The arugula goes bad right away. Eat it the second you buy it.

I don’t understand all the hate for this place. Granted The Garden is my first choice for food shopping, but this place is still good.

On one hand this place is great because it’s clean, there’s a decent variety(compared to my old grocery store — Met on Driggs), and it’s close to my house. On the other hand, there’s a lot not to love. I have bought seafood there twice and it has been rancid. I realize that fish is supposed to have a little smell but it was turning yellow and it smelled HORRIBLY. I didn’t want to risk eating it. The same can be said for their cheese. A nice selection, but make sure to check the dates. I bought a block of cheddar and came home to realize it was packaged 5 days ago. It tasted like it was freezer burnt. The customer service sucks too, except the deli guys in the back. This whole«if you worked at a grocery store you’d be rude too» thing doesn’t fly with me. I did, and I know you can at least say hello and goodbye.

This place is not cheap but I am very rich and do not care because I am exceedingly wealthy and I would rather spend twice what the food is worth than have to wait in line like a common hobo at Trader Joe’s. Good cheese assortment, fine meats are for sale, nice deli counter, decent vegetables, different sort of milks. beers, soft drinks, cereals and other grains, yogurt, butter, milk, melons, strawberries, small kitchen utensils and pans, mops and brooms, soaps and cleaning products, frozen items, Goya stuff, spices, eggs, flour and that’s it.

Have yo been to a C Town? Then you pretty much know what this one is like. It’s not a great selection, and the prices aren’t ideal. It’s not somewhere that you would travel to if you don’t live right by it. It’s the kind of place you go when you need groceries to make dinner, and there aren’t any grocery stores that are closer. I would say that this C Town is slightly nicer than some of the others I’ve been to or seen, but not much nicer.
