This was my second visit to this doctor within the last 7 months. The doctor was competent, open to discussion, and patient. The reception staff was nice, and wait times reasonable. No complaints.

Dr. Chin-Chu is a well trained professional with a well run office. I have been a patient for nearly10 years and I must say the bi annual visits are the best well-timed health care money spent! My children are patients as well. She has a busy practice, so do yourself a favor respect the value of your time and hers, be on time for your appointment and you won’t be disappointed even if seen by an equally competent colleague at her practice.

After reading Randi C’s review and mainly because it was close to the F train line, I decided to go to see an ophthalmologist for my eye dilemma. I called my insurance and they said I would be covered under Dr. Chin-Chu. So, I scheduled a walk-in appointment because I could barely see out of my left eye. The receptionist was very helpful and she called my insurance company to double check. She told me to bring cash just in case. I arrived a bit late because I can’t see where I’m going, but both receptionists were very nice about it. They said I could not see the doctor since I didn’t have an emergency referral. But since I have a $ 150 deductible, it would be wiser to pay for a regular office visit which cost me $ 75. The ladies working the front desk were very cool and helpful. I wanted to leave and go to the ER instead, but they said since I’m already here they would charge me for a regular office visit. I saw an OD doctor and she numbed my eye with drops and used a microscopic instrument to prod my eyeball. It was not fun, but I trusted her knowledge and expertise. The OD gave me free samples to get rid of the infection and a small tubal medicine to relieve my dry eyes. I did not feel rushed, but I think I spent a good 10−15mins there. –1 star because I had to wait an hour to see the OD. I can see again. Hip Hip HORRAY!

I’ve been going to Dr. Chin’s office since high school and she’s one of the best in downtown brooklyn. She’s also an eye surgeon(for all you lasik fans). It is a busy office, so give yourself time when you go for an appointment. There’s usually a wait. Also, don’t be disheartened if you actually don’t see Dr. Chin. Because the office is so busy, she has other doctors in the practice. They’re just as competent — and your time there goes alot faster. You may see Dr. Chin but it seems like she reserves her time for her more pressing patients(i.e. glaucoma, surgeries, cataracts). Easier patients go to the other doctors.
