Dangerous Mathematicians

I approached Karen from Dangerous Mathematicians about making a men’s suit. She got back to me and we discussed prices and options. Everything sounded good so I went for it. The process was a total delight and Karen is very attentive to detail. We picked out the exact fabrics, style and cut that I liked in the suit and then she had it made. It was a very fun process to go through getting a total custom suit and I was very happy with the result.
If you’re looking for an interesting piece of custom clothing at a very fair price, you can’t go wrong with Dangerous Mathematicians. My new suit is damn sexy.

Don’t go to this place. Ever. It’s really truly horrible. Honest.
Ok, ok, I’ll go ahead and spill the beans– this shop is a bright shining star in the middle of a wasteland of over-​priced & overrated «cool» clothing and accessory stores in Manhattan. And as if that weren’t awesome enough, they have events (such as the pre-Valentine’s party that I just went to 2 nights ago) and the events are stellar and fantastic! Djs playing quality music, wine & cheese, a brazilian drumming performance, burlesque dancers, and the opportunity to shop while drinking aforementioned wine at like 10pm?!! What more could you ask for? Karen, who basically runs the show there, is a lovely wonderful person. She has so much style and class that all of you should take lessons from her, and she’s genuinely friendly to boot. Why does this store only have 1 other review? Because it’s one of NYC’s best-​kept secrets– shush!

This little shop is fabulous! I was out looking for an outfit for a party, getting discouraged but mostly tired, and the minute I walked into this place I decided I was going to do it all right there. The vibe was good, the owner was super friendly & helpful without being cloying and irritating. I ended up getting a few pieces that I matched with some stuff at home — the owner helped me figure it all out.
Plus — and this is a major über plus — they have these great events every few weeks, with music, wine, great people — I mean, its a party in the store! I’ve met some great people there! So hell, there’s not many places that I can credit for supplying super threads as well as great entertainment.
Did I mention the clothes are fab? They offer custom pieces (very well made, fit incredibly well) as well as some delicious items from Italy… lately they have been expanding their line of sexy stuff, but there is everything here from gloves to pants to coats to corsets. Its a small place, but it packs a punch. Highly recommend.
