Diva Dance Studio

This is one of the best schools in Brooklyn! Yes, they are very serious about what they do. They want to have kids that are serious and passionate about dancing. My daughter has been there for the last 5 years. She is 10 now and not doing dancing as a career. Most children there are not. But if you cannot commit– do not come there to waste everybody’s time. My daughter was on the competition team. We had a chance to see our school compete in nationals dance competition in Lancaster, PA with 10 or 12 other dance schools. Diva Dance got the most amount of high scores AND the highest award! I knew this school was good but only appreciated it when I saw them in comparison to other schools. After years of going there I only realized how good Diva dance then. They do require payments or deposits upfront but only because some people try to take advantage and pay late. If they order costumes for recital, parents need to pay deposit ahead of time. It’s just like paying your phone bill on time. Why should it be any different? Their recital is amazing. Costumes are amazing, even for 3−4-year olds. And it’s only children dancing, not teachers like in other schools. If your child loves dancing and wants to be good-​this is one of the best schools!

This place is horrible please take this as a warning and do not get suckered in as I did! First off to register you have to pay first and last month tuition plus a $ 30 registration fee-​no one else does this! That last month should be May since the recital is 1^st week of June and most places do not have class after the recital, but instead they count June as the last month and as a favor give 1 class and 1 «party» in June-that’s not worth $ 55! You pay for everything ahead of time and without seeing it (including pictures-​ridiculous), the staff is not courteous at all (to say the least!) they put way too much pressure on the children (who are 3 and 4 by the way), this is a small dance school in Gravesend most of these moms are doing this for fun and do not expect their daughters to be prima ballerina’s! I’m putting mine in Horizon next year-​I rarely write reviews but felt it’s my duty as a mother-​especially as a mother in this economy!
