I LOVED this place. I no longer live in NYC but I still want to leave them a review. I’m really picky about my hair and finding a salon in NYC that gives a quality cut while also being affordable is no easy task. Dvir is an absolute delight!
They were always able to work me in day of or the next-​day when I asked for an appointment. Upon entry, they had cookies, coffee, sodas, and water available to enjoy while you wait. I got several incredible haircuts here. They’re also a great salon to go to for color! I told the stylist to just pick a color that he thought would look good on me and he gave me a beautiful red that perfectly flattered my skin tone. If I could’ve brought Dvir to Atlanta with me, I would have.
If you’re wondering where to go for a fantastic affordable haircut (ESPECIALLY if you like to experiment with your hair), look no further! Friendly staff, a wonderful environment, and great work.

One of the worst hair cut experiences I’ve had. I never write reviews but this is well deserved. Long story short, my words verbatim were to give me a trim, not too short. I hadn’t gotten a hair cut in awhile so it was pretty over grown. I said to keep the same hair style just trim it up and keep it shaggy «I don’t want a clean cut look». Pretty simple male hair haircut.
One hour and fifteen minutes later my hair is the complete opposite of what I asked for. I looked in the mirror and the anxiety sank in. Extremely short and clean cut. Not to mention it was the longest it’s taken anyone to cut my hair. I got razor burn all over my neck. She nicked my ear. From my perspective it didn’t seem like she knew what she was doing. I had a feeling 45 minutes in that things weren’t going well but what am I going to do? Stop a haircut halfway done and walk out? On top of all that someone thought it was a great idea to keep both doors open on a windy day so I had the added chore of keeping hair out of my eyes.
The hair cut sucked and I had a pretty bad time, but whatever it’s hair, it’ll grow out. What made me really upset was that when I very politely asked for a discount or some sort of refund I was denied and treated as though it was my fault. That I wasn’t clear in what I wanted.
I’m sorry but isn’t the job of the professional hair stylist to make sure they understand exactly what needs to be done. Do I have to hold her hand through the whole process. If she wasn’t sure what I meant she should have asked for clarification.
I paid $ 40 for a professional to cut my hair and that’s not what I got from Dvir. Buyer beware.

I’ve been a customer of Dvir Salon (and the namesake owner) for almost a decade. This alone says something of course. But, straight up, D’vir is one of the kindest, most human people I know. A good haircut is a good haircut (he hasn’t messed me up yet!). But sometimes you want more from a haircut, be it a nice coffee or honest conversation or chill music. Dvir has it all. I highly recommend giving this salon a visit. It’s always an interesting time!

Awesome, have gotten a few of my best haircuts here! Both locations are great/​easy to get to. Friendly service and somehow knows what I want in a professional, but still playful look.

This is not my first time here, but this place deserves a review from me after today!!! I scheduled an appointment for 11:00 this morning, and as soon as i walked in, i was taken cared of IMMEDIATLY! Rachel did my hair today. She is a delight! Shes very social, and the conversations we had were carefree and fun! Also i love her fun style! She rocks! Now to the service. I had a natural light brown color (color treated) base color, and requested light golden blonde highlights. I was scared of my ends feeling crispy from the bleach, but she used olaplex in the bleach. I was still scared lol. However after we rinsed, toned and did the whole shabam, my hair felt amazing! So smooth and healthy! And the highlights are spot on what i was asking for! Rachel knows what shes doing. If you ever need your hair highlighted, see rachel! She does a phenomenal job!

Dvir is wonderful. I forget my stylists name but she rocks. I’ve been twice and leave looking amazing. The staff is great too. I’ve already recommended Thai salon!

Delmar is the best. He had done a great job acting as an image consultant, listening and recommending new hair styles and coloring to me and my friend. Everybody loved… I recommend highly to everyone. I got an appointment yet they were flexible about accomodating my friend’s last minute interest, too :-)

I went to Dvir for a cut for the first time today, after getting some not-​so-​good cuts elsewhere in Crown Heights /​Park Slope. Rachel was a doll, and she totally understood what I wanted and didn’t judge when I said I was low maintenance (read: «lazy») with my hair. She has a good eye, gave me a cut that looks and feels great, and didn’t try to sell me on any kind of overpriced products that I didn’t need. The salon is clean, cute, and inviting. I had a warm cup of tea and overall thoughtful service. Plus, they do free bang trims! I’ll definitely be coming back here, no doubt.
As some others have noted, tips can only be given in cash.

I cut my hair in this place twice. And i always feel like im a diva after i cut my hair here.

Amazing salon. Everyone is very friendly and attentive, and the space is bright and clean. There’s coffee and beer, too.
Every time I get a haircut, I always leave with a tinge of regret, feeling like the stylist didn’t really do that great of a job, but it was the best I could ask for… right? Like somehow it was my fault. Fast-​forward to my appointment at Dvir Salon. Agatha talked me through some styles, answered coloring questions that I had, and gave me recommendations for products that could help my hair. She was attentive while not being pushy, but honest about what would work and what may not have been the best idea for my hair. When I saw her finished product, I was stunned. I’ve never been so satisfied with a haircut before. The whole Dvir experience was awesome, but Agatha will keep me coming back. She really knows her stuff!

I went here after finding the salon on instagram. Delmar did my color. I have natural hair and had loads of questions! This was my first time dyeing my hair a color other than black. He was super patient in helping me find the shade. Not only is he talented but knowledgeable too. Everyone at the salon was attentive by offering me a choice of drinks. I would definitely recommend him

Great salon. I’ve been going to the Bond Street location for years and recently switched over to this location. Agatha is amazing with color and cuts. She listens to what you want and then adds in her ideas. I trust her completely with my hair.
Gorgeous spot with a friendly staff. The beer on tap is a nice little addition after a long day at work. I highly recommend both locations. Naho at the other location is also amazing.

I’ve been going to another stylist for 7 years. She moved out of NYC :(so i had to find a replacement.
Dvir is my new spot! Great staff. They do all kinds of hair and styling. My friend got one of those goth/​punk part-​shaved deals so I took a risk. My hair is thick and wavy and I just asked for «whatever is cool» and we came up with a new basic Brooklyn cut that I’m in love with.
Go see Serpil. She is great, personable, just the right amount of conversation, and I love my hair again. At $ 40 for a men’s cut its an incredible deal too.
Just try them, you won’t regret it!

The situation: I have never been a person who feels great about shelling out the cash to get my hair cut. I’ve been cutting my own hair for the last few years just because I had never really gotten a haircut that I was happy with.
I went in yesterday with the very nondescript «I just want my hair to have shape and look good», and got my hair cut by Neil at the Franklin location, and I came out of there looking AMAZING. I mean, both the cut and the way he styled my hair when drying it — I went immediately to meet friends afterwards where people started complimenting my hair.
Had a really relaxed experience as well with a nice cup of tea and conversation. Go here!

Let me frame this review for you. I have a massive amount of fast growing, super thick, super straight hair. I’ve run the entire gambit of disastrous hair styles: my parents defaulted to a mullet when i was 4, a bowl cut for my youth, spiking my hair in middle school, and my rebellion with shoulder length hair — may those pictures be damned.
I learned that I need awesome people to cut my hair and take the time to figure out what will look good and not turn me into a dome of lego figure hair. Each time I move to a different city (4 in 5 years) I am faced with terror of finding a new person who will take care of me.
I lucked out. On my first try I found Dvir Salon and Delmar. My last haircut from Delmar has been — by far — the most I’ve ever been complimented on my hair… not even all of them were sarcastic compliments!
All the five stars. Give them all the stars. I’ve been going to Dvir for 9 months and I’ve been consistently happy.

I got my hair cut for the first time in a year at Dvir. The reason that I had waited so long is because of a particularly traumatic haircut (not done at Dvir) — so one might say that I was a bit nervous.
As soon as I sat down and began to talk to Agatha about what I wanted to do, I was set at ease. She listened to my concerns and provided me with guidance. Before I knew it, she had cut my hair exactly how I wanted it (even though I did such a piss-​poor job of describing it). The finished cut left my hair looking so much healthier and alive that I practically skipped out the door.
And on the walk home I felt like I was living in a shampoo commercial.

I decided I wanted to add dimension to my single process blonde with some serious roots growing in and wasn’t sure what to ask for. After chatting with Agatha about it, she knew exactly what to do and did an amazing job. My hair came out more beautiful than I ever expected. She also gave me an awesome haircut, kept the length like I wanted while taking off much of the weight. I’m in love with my hair! She even gave me an ice cold beer! Agatha really knows her stuff when it comes to hair, I highly recommend her.

I’ve been a customer at Dvir Salon for almost three years, first at the Bond Street location and now happily at Franklin Avenue. They are the absolute best! From customer service to hair artistry, they are top notch without a bit of pretension. Agatha has been cutting and coloring my hair for those almost three years and never have I left Dvir feeling less than gorgeous.
On each visit, Agatha brings my hair back to life. She’s provided hair care that is completely me and her work is exceptional. My dark brown color always looks natural and the warm highlights she’s given me added beautiful dimension to my hair. Did I mention she provided highlights that grew out naturally and never did I have to go back to maintain them. Nor did Agatha make me feel like I needed to!
Agatha provides care to a vast amount of clients, all who may have a completely different look, and provides each one with hair styling that is completely personal to them. I absolute adore her and her work, as well as everyone else in the salon. Shoshanna, who will greet you at the desk with sweetness, attention and a freshly made cappuccino is a gem. Their prices are competitive but by no means expensive for the service you receive. I consistently get compliments on my hair and I completely credit Dvir Salon, and Agatha, for helping me maintain a beautiful and natural look as my hair grows older.

I just moved to Bed Stuy in November and was looking for a great place nearby to get my hair trimmed.
After searching Unilocal for some insight, I decided on Dvir.
Great decision.
After sipping a complimentary cup of Coconut Chai tea, and therapeutic hairwash, Karina sat with me for a few minutes to listen to what I wanted for a cut, then onto the artist chair for some hair sculpting.
Karina did an amazing job, whoa!
$ 40 is on the high end for a guys haircut, but worth it.
Oh, and by the way, don’t let the mark of the beast for the address scare you — it’s a wholesome place :)
