Easygoing & relaxing bar with a solid beer selection and reasonable prices. The layout isn’t particularly well-suited for bigger crowds, so this place is definitely best enjoyed on weeknights.

Sorry Dynaco, I was ready to like you, but it feels like you’ve already got too many fans, which made for a fairly cramped and hard-to-enjoy Friday night. This feels like the kind of bar that was probably a hidden gem about 9 months ago, but the word is out, and now it’s full of the hipster and wannabe-hipster Brooklynites that give Brooklyn bars a bad name. Now don’t get me wrong, it’s not a bad bar by any means. Decent space, especially since they have a nice back room, and decent beer. But not great on either count. Friday at 9 when I got there, the back room was so crowded that I couldn’t even reach my friends in the back corner. And the beer list, while respectable, was nothing special… nothing I can’t find at any other bar worth its salt. All of this might have been enough to warrant a 4-star review, if there weren’t so many little things that were just not great. Things like being cash-only(not a dealbreaker, but certainly an annoyance), not having a printed beer list(again, not a huge problem, except when the bar is so packed that I can’t even walk to the other side to see the chalkboard), one bathroom(so as you can imagine, pretty long line), and kind of rude clientele(something they can’t control I suppose, but come on Brooklyn, try not to meet every stereotype of the broody hipster). It’s also so dark you can barely see, which I suppose is probably a pro for lots of people, but was not my style. While the interior is really pretty, you can barely enjoy it with the low(mood?) lighting. For some people, all of this might be exactly what they’re looking for. For me, it was enough to remind me why I avoid Brooklyn at all costs.

This is my favorite hidden gem and is always a massive hit amongst friends! The décor is really perfect with beautiful wood and Dynaco speakers everywhere — hence the name. This place never gets old and is really unique, original and cool without being pretentious. See ya there

Perfect mood lighting inside. We went with a group of three perfect for the small bar. Grabbed two seats at the bar after a short wait. I had a dark and stormy which was good. It was a nice spot and bartender was nice to us. I will be going back.

Good neighborhood bar with a chill vibe. Bartenders are equally as chill. Not really much to say but if you are looking for a solid after work choice to catch up with friends — Dynaco works!

Loud, but lacking that sweet midrange that you’d expect. Packed floor to ceiling with hipsters half the age of my ST70 who probably don’t have the faintest idea what a Dynaco is(but they can probably pause their MP3 player and Google it real quick).

If you are looking for an amazingly relaxed, easy going bar, look no farther than dynaco. Once you’ve spotted the super small signage on the front, that is. I absolutely adore this place(even if it is cash only). The bartenders are always super friendly and knowledgeable about the beers and spirits they peddle. Even if i hadn’t been in a month or so, the bartender would recognize us and begin the long string of random conversation that I always ended up enjoying. They have a nice selection of beer that they are always willing to have you sample before buying a pint. They usually have a specialty cocktail that they serve. If you see Aviation, i highly recommend it. It is delicious! Plus, they give you goldfish at the bar, which is a huge selling point for me. The bar itself is very old and cozy. Low lights, slightly uneven floorboards, highlighted bottles, and a wall of speakers separating two sitting rooms. The back room offers a fireplace that, in colder months, can me smelled from a few blocks away. I love the smell of a wood burning fire. It smells like warmth and comfort. Add friends and a few beers or cocktails and I am in heaven.

I would give it a bad review just to keep it for myself. But like Jackson Pollock destroying his own work, there are somethings you just can’t do it.

The darkest hipster bar in the hood. Bring night vision goggles. Their dim lit stained glass and wooden bar interior is beautiful . Gets packed on the weekends. They have 1 unisex bathroom. Beware of line.

I was hosting two couch surfers from Moscow in late August, and we decided to check out some local bars around the area. I chose this one for its hidden façade, goldfish, and good vibes. I was right. The inside of the bar had an old iron cast fireplace in the back, which had open air seating. At the bar, the bartender made us 3 Moscow jackasses,(which is a Moscow mule), it is basically vodka, lime, and ginger beer. Varies from bar to bar depending on what types of alcohol and ginger beer they use. They don’t have a menu, so they make drinks upon a conversation or request! Old school and unique. I had to request some goldfish, and was given a whole cup of it! The drinks were strong, the vibes good, and we got another round of Moscow mules. Didn’t get to try a slice of cake this time, but will come back for it next time!

Cool spot, even though it is clearly a precursor to the unaffordability which is sure to follow in this hood… But hey, what you gonna do?! It’s fine, no complaints. Nothing amazing.

This bar has a very cozy, inviting atmosphere that made me feel like I was in local a small mountain town in the middle of the winter(though it’s early September.) The bar top is made from a few large slabs of beautiful live edge wood and the décor has a very unfinished look about it. My only complaint is that the music was a little too loud to have a conversation without screaming but I did choose to go here on a Saturday night. Oh, but the most important thing is the bartender made a very delicious $ 10 old fashioned.

I like this place a lot. It’s super dark and super cozy. It definitely has a clandestine type feel as there is no signage outside and the entrance is very nondescript. You walk into a room with a couple of cozy booths by the front covered up windows and a long perhaps 28 foot wooden bar. The bar itself seems to have a lot of character. because of my terrible eyesight and foggy memory, I want to say the bar appears to be homemade or very handcrafted. But, the wooden bar and the well placed lighting added to the incredible warmth of the place. I love how dark this bar is. The lighting is super cool. There are various forms of low lighting from 10 watt light bulbs to dim led lights perfectly placed around the bar. If you continue walking passed the bar, there is a cozy back room complete with one of those Swedish Fireplaces. The whole set up is just really cool. Cash only, drinks are very well made. I love the fact that there is no cocktail menu. They have a bunch of liquor and bitters and drink mixers and they make you a drink after having a conversation with the bartender. It’s makes it a personal experience and the guy behind the counter was super nice and knowledgeable the night we went. I live in the neighborhood, I own a bar in the neighborhood, this is the place I would go for a night of drinking cocktails with a date. The night I went, i just so happen to be with my wife and we had a really fun experience. We had a few 10 dollar cocktails, a slice of really delicious carrot cake with a cream cheese/meringue icing. The cake had a nice hit of pineapple. It was one of the better carrot cakes I have ever had. Can’t say enough good things about this place.

Great hidden gem. Cozy wooden space that feels like a chalet in the middle of Bed Stuy. Bartenders are chill and chatty. Drinks are made with care and you can buy a slice of cake(if you get there early enough.) Will be back.

Slightly hidden away with barely a sign. Dynaco blends in with the surrounding buildings with its«A/C» branding sticking out. People might think its just a regular residential building. But if you look closely and actually open the door. You will find an intimate bar with a fireplace in the back room. The bartenders made my Old Fashioned to perfection and very stiff. Definitely my go to spot in the neighborhood. But it is cash only, but luckily 2 drinks were enough for me and it cost about 24 bucks including tip. So bring a date, relax and/or strike up a conversation with a neighbor.

The atmosphere was cool. Has a speakeasy vibe about it. Great date spot. The fireplace in the back is a nice touch as well. It can get crowded on a weekend after 9pm. So finding a good spot to post up can be difficult. Nonetheless, it’s definitely worth paying a visit to. Of note, the bartender was beyond awesome!

This place is an amazing example of bar-days gone by. It’s a «not flashy on the outside, subtle on the inside»(most of the seats, and a dividing wall are made out if old speakers), cash only kind of spot. True pours of beer(FANTASTIC selection), and homemade pie make this place a five star bar. Pro Tip: on a cold night they have a wood burning fire that makes the place warm and smell amazing.
