Experienced Van Lines

I hired Experienced Van Lines through
for a cross-​country move. U-​Ship is an intermediary that is supposed to protect consumers from shady moving companies that try to demand payment before goods have been delivered. Customers pay U-​Ship directly, and then use a payment code to send the payment for the move to the moving company after goods have been delivered. I am so thankful I used U-​Ship, otherwise my experience with Experienced Van Lines would have been even worse than it was.
When I was signing the contract with the movers on the day they picked up my belongings (4 hours late), the woman at the main office tried to convince me to drop my contract with U-​Ship and go directly with Experienced Van Lines. I found this request to be unprofessional and underhanded, as they would not have had my business in the first place if it hadn’t been for U-​Ship, so I refused.
When I called 2 weeks after my goods were picked up, to gauge a time for delivery, the customer service rep was extremely belligerent with me and repeatedly avoided answering my questions for an approximate delivery date. When she finally gave me a date for delivery, and put me in touch with the driver, the delivery date was delayed 4 times. When they finally decided to make the delivery, they notified me the night before it was being delivered, and I was unable to take the shipment. Rather than take accountability for their delayed delivery, and deliver my goods when I was there, they dumped my items in storage.
To make matters worse, when I asked for the storage facility address, they refused to give me this information until I gave them the payment code from U-​Ship. The U-​Ship contract specifically states that movers SHOULD NOT get or ask for the payment code until the customer has verified that goods have been delivered. This is why I am glad I used U-​Ship, as they were able to intervene and force Experienced Van Lines to stand by the terms of the contract and give me this information for the storage unit before I payed them.
Please do not use this company, their customer services is horrendous, and their business ethics are completely lacking.

Unprofessional moving company that repeatedly lied to us regarding all aspects of our move.
The first problem was that our move date was unexpectedly changed one week out from our move date, despite the fact that I called Renee (at Experienced Van Lines) to confirm the date and time on three occasions. When we did pick one of the alternate dates from which we were forced to choice, we decided on 7am for a certain Saturday. They did not arrive until around 2pm that day.
The movers who arrived were doing back-​to-​back jobs. They were obviously exhausted, which was concerning, especially since they would be driving a large truck on the interstate immediately after the move-​out. Other than that, the movers that moved us out in Maryland were nice and professional.
We had also been promised that out entire shipment would be sent on one truck, never being moved from truck to truck. We found out when the movers came to take our things that it was all being driven to New York, where it would be placed onto another truck that would bring it to our new home in California.
Renee (at the company) offered all clients 10% off the moving cost, but she tried to renege on the offer once we had to modify the amount of our shipment. We went back and forth on the phone. Renee became extremely belligerent over the phone and refused my repeated requests to speak to a manager. Finally, she ended the conversation by hanging up on me and refusing to field any more calls from me.
We were told that our shipment would arrive in California in 10 to 14 days from when it was picked up. After 10 days, we called to check on the status, and our shipment was still in New Jersey. Our shipment was never supposed to be sitting in New Jersey for a week.
We finally received our shipment 20 days after it was picked up. While waiting for our shipment to arrive, our calls were sent straight to voicemail when we called for status updates. On the website, there is no other number to call.
The man driving the moving truck constantly changed the details of when he would be arriving in Oakland. He was also very rude on the phone, sometimes hanging up on me before the conversation was finished.
I have made large moves before, and this is by far the worst experience I have had. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
