honestly. i was in the area and was too lazy to go to the place i really wanted to go to(the islands?). i love caribbean food, but this was sub par all around. i was starving and was disappointed at first bite. made me wish i made the extra effort to walk a little farther.

I definitely find their food to be a turn off. I don’t want to stop someone from getting to their ¥£€$ but I was not pleased with what they have to offer. Plain and simple.

First time I had Caribbean food and it was so tasty and inexpensive. Also good smell. I liked that they had brown rice and white rice to choose between. I had shrimp, vegetable and brown rice, and I am so coming back. They give plenty of food :)

The curry chicken had an appealing if not especially spicy sauce. Portions are huge. Cabbage was very fresh, with some crunch, and I’m usually plaintain-agnostic but the version at Fever Grass was successful.

I stopped into this tiny take-out restaurant. It smelled so good inside. They had plantains, oxtail, curry goat, curry chicken, here chicken, and stew chicken in the glass. There was a ghetto woman. The server was placing two pieces of macaroni pie into the plate. She was saying in front of her face«why she puttin’ that lil in mah plate? She needa put more. F*ck she thought.»(Her words not mine). Later on, she started cursing. It was a sad sight to see and highly unnecessary. Anyway, next was my turn. The choices were between vegetable fried rice, rice and peas, and white rice. I chose the vegetable fried rice. Then I chose the stew chicken. Later on, she added some plantains and vegetables. I asked for one more piece of chicken and she kindly gave me two. Now, my order arrived to $ 7, which was fine with me. I was working the closing shift. That was why I bought something to eat. It tasted so good and was quite a lot to eat for a small portion. Still, I finished it although I don’t like eating big portions like that. It was tasty, the herbs were melded into the stew chicken plus it was succulent and tender, the vegetables were soft and zesty, and the plantains were ripe and sweet(just how I like it). Will I return here? Of course I would.

I love Fever Grass! They have amazing, flavorful but well-balanced, subtly delicious sauces. Seriously whoever makes these«gravies» is a genius. My wife said the stewed chicken is the best chicken she ever had – honestly I couldn’t disagree. Freshly made roti bread is so good. And the prices are soooo reasonable – we split a large order which is a gut busting meal for two at $ 10 total. Seriously! It is take out, so be prepared to eat it at home. But do eat it! This hard-working family is here pretty much all day and much of the night. Five stars for being perfect at what it is trying to be: affordable delicious Caribbean cuisine to go! Yum!

Been here twice now. Feel safe saying it’s a solid, if fewer-than-no-frills place. There is basically you and the counter and the food and the lady. No posted prices. Lady is not excited to see you or curious how your day is going. You tell them what you want, and they give it to you, and maybe they give you some other stuff too because why not. Meats are extremely tender and flavorful. Plantains have just the right cleavage to them. Wet vegetables could maybe be a little less reliant on cabbage, and of course I always wish someone would come up with a boneless variant on these delicious stews. Patties here are a real standout. I’m not an expert, but these don’t taste to me like the mass-distributed reheated ones. The spices seem fresher, more distinct, less reliant on heat.

This is an awesome place for a real deal Holyfield food from the Island! The oxtail stew is braised to perfection with just the right amount of seasoning and heat! The lady behind the counter assuming she’s the owner is super cool! Keep up the good work!
