Fifth Avenue Bright White

I’ve used this service for over 2 years. Last two times I’ve not gotten allot of my clothes back. A lot of the clothes came back damaged or stained. The first time he said there was an accident with the machines and I tried to be understanding so I let it go. But the last two times more than 2 – 3 pieces of clothing have gone missing. It has costed more money to replace the clothes, many occasions not even able to recuperate some pieces.

Tried a bunch of other places locally. This is one of the few that consistently meets or exceeds expectations. The clothes are always inside of a plastic liner, which is nice in case it’s raining or snowing outside and the top if the laundry bag gets wet. They take credit cards, sell laundry bags, have amazing turnaround time, are open 24 – 7 and are really nice to boot. What more could you ask for?

I’ve been using Bright White for a while, and have had mixed results. For a while I was having problems with the way they folded shirts, which often came back folded really weird, and required lots of ironing to correct how bunched up they were. So I brought one in to request a correction, and lo and behold, the shirts started coming back folded neatly.
But sheets are another story. A few weeks ago a comforter cover came back folded really strangely, I couldn’t even get it flat to put away, until I found they had folded it with underwear stuffed inside. Ok, anyone can make a mistake. Then the most recent delivery came with a different comforter cover, which was crammed into some semblance of being folded but was a big wad of fabric. When I went to put it on the bed, it was completely wrinkled as if it had been taken out of the dryer while it was damp and air dried all wadded up like a used Kleenex. It’s white, and it also had spots of another color that looked like it had been crammed next to colored items while it was wet. That’s not just a mistake, it’s really careless, and shoving it into the laundry bag without saying anything…
Well, I won’t use them again. It’s a shame, because the guy who picks up and delivers is really friendly, always on time, and is very flexible with my schedule to get the clothes delivered when it’s convenient. The clothes are packed with dryer sheets so they smell clean, and it’s really handy to have pick up and deliver be so painless. But having to re-​wash things and never knowing what condition the folding is going to be in is just too much hassle. Guess I have to find someone else, though I will probably still go there if I want to do my own wash, as the place is fine for that.

The laundry service is very fast (next day service) and inexpensive (70 cents a lb.) with free pick-​up and delivery. However way too much bleach was used on items that were not supposed to be washed with chlorine bleach and came back with holes. Dry cleaning takes quite a bit longer I sent out 7 items and they didn’t make it back for nearly a week. I had to call looking for them. They were very apologetic and sent them immediately. The items (everything from cashmere sweaters, linen and wool) came back perfect. I will use them for dry cleaning again but will try elsewhere for laundry
