So many beautiful items. It feels as if you’re walking into an «olde worlde» London kind of shop — so lovely. Really nice & helpful staff. I’m going to be a regular! :)

A little pricey, but normal for NYC. But, if you hunt you may find a deal! Had some very lovely dishes, nik-naks, jewelry(cheap costume jewelry to turquoise and cameos). Staff was friendly. I will be back!

Fork and Pencil always have amazing pieces. Whether it is antique furniture or decorative pieces, I fall in love each time I go there. Unfortunately, the prices are sometimes a bit high. But I do by small pieces regularly, especially from their smaller place on Court Street(their warehouse is a must see — on Bergen street) — small antique mirror, silver spoons from the 20ies, antique toys, small drinking glasses… I treasure every little piece I got from them. The staff is great — once the owner spent a long time looking for the perfect glass for me, I needed for a party I was hosting. Attention: the warehouse does not take credit cards — you will have to go pay your piece at the smaller store on Court, then come back to pick it up.

Quick summary: Awesome assortment of Antique/Vintage/Quirky pieces. Friendly Folks. Profits benefit local schools, arts + environment! I was desperate to find a last minute housewarming gift. Running in and out of stores on Court St. I found myself in this place. I announced I needed a housewarming gift STAT. I explained that I was looking for something unique but nice to welcome good friends who just moved into the neighborhood. The guy there(he might be the owner) asked a few questions to get a sense of the recipient and how much I wanted to spend and then made a handful of suggestions. I settled on a lovely antique crystal decanter. It was a HUGE hit. This is an amazing place for unique vintage finds. They also have a room in back dedicated to imaginative and creative toys for kids. I will definitely be back to shop for my nephews. pros: Great shop if you need a gift for friends or family’s offspring. cons: The place is tiny to the point that conversations end up involving everyone.

Very cool shop — and one of the few remaining opportunities to find a good bargain in Cobble Hill. The story is small, and stuffed with things like cards and antique jewelry and a very carefully curated book selection. I like scanning some of the larger items tucked away — a great collection of antique oil paintings and really unique art, and some unusual furniture and odds and ends, depending on what’s new. That’s one of the best aspects: it’s always changing. Also, the owner runs a warehouse around the corner on Bergen St that will appeal more to furniture hunters and has a lot more unusual finds and real treasures — in large part because its a lot bigger. Everything from mid-century couches, to musical instruments, to older-than-last-century bookcases. Some of it is real collector stuff, and can be expensive. But a lot of the most amazing things I find are surprisingly cheap, which makes Fork and Pencil starkly different from the Antique shops over on Atlantic, which seem to sell similar items but all at exorbitant prices.

this is one of my favorite stores to wander into. they have an eclectic mix of lovely little items squeezed into every nook, shelf, and corner — with a wave of wares spilling out onto the sidewalk even during winter. in addition to their antiques and vintage, they also have an amazing selection of cards. letterpress, love.
