If you are a black girl with natural hair I STRONGLY advise against going to this shop. First off, I was unimpressed by the cleanliness of the place — when I first walked in there was a giant dead roach on the floor that someone had stepped on and managed to just leave there, and the back washing area smelled like mildew, with several flies buzzing around to boot. The one girl who washed my hair tangled it so badly even though I made sure to detangle prior to my arrival to avoid knotting issues. Afterwards I thought I was getting a rollerset — another stylist starts blowing out my hair and when I kindly inquired wtf they were doing they then«explained» that I had«too much» hair for rollers. I then explicitly said I did not want to use too much heat, which my stylist impatiently replied to by rolling her eyes and ignoring my request entirely. I then proceeded to have the most painful blowout of my life — she used SOMUCHHEAT and pulled so hard I actually cried a little. I was surprised I had any hair left after I was done — literally scalp scorching and my temples are still throbbing. And then to top it off I heard her telling another stylist that I had«pelo malo y largo». Honestly anyone with a rudimentary knowledge of Spanish knows what pelo malo is and I couldn’t believe they thought I was so dumb that I didn’t know they were saying I had bad hair. How could you be so rude and RACIST to a paying customer? Truly astounded at the self-hate some Dominicans proudly display to the world like they aren’t also black… The worst part was that I was overcharged for the service at the end — probably a good old«black tax». I will never go to this garbage establishment again and I hope no one with natural hair ever makes the same mistake I did.

The salon is clean and the staff is friendly. They tend to have too many conversations while styling a customers hair but they are efficient and quick. I have come here a total of 9 times so it’s official I choose them! However the prices do fluctuate but I noticed it depends on hair type and the day of the week you come in… I am satisfied.

I have curl puffy caribbean hair which it makes it very hard for a stylist to deal with it but they were able to manage it very well and for a very low price

I have been here 4 times now for a trim. I have long hair, with two layers, parted down the middle with a bang. I give them five stars because I am always in a hurry and have a no maintenance hairstyle. I always go in with my hair washed fresh and if it’s started to dry a little they will wet it down slightly with the spray mister. They are fast and efficient and that’s what I like when it comes to my hair, TYVM. Also, for $ 15(plus a $ 5 tip) the in and out, wonderful service is worth over a $ 1 a minute in my book. The place is clean, the ladies are friendly and Spanish speaking.

Positives: You hair will come out nicely for the price. Alot of shine and bounce depending on who does it and if they aren’t in a rush. Con: They make up their prices. Every time I go they quote me a different price. If you ask for pricing on the phone they just say depends on the hair. They once told me that my hair was long so they had to charge me $ 10 more(my hair was a little pass shoulder length). If you don’t speak Spanish or don’t go their every two weeks they will make up the prices but 8 times out of 10 it will look beautiful. Yes they do charge $ 1 more for bobby pins(all of those shops do). Once I told them I had my own deep conditioner and asked how much they would charge for that. They said they will charge the same as using theirs because you have to pay for the electricity of using the dryer. They are very unprofessional and charge more for natural hair and to people who don’t speak spanish, but your hair will come out nice.

This was my first experience getting a Dominican blowout, and I have mixed feelings about this shop. First, I feel as if the pricing is steep. I asked for a wash, deep condition, and blow out and the stylist told me $ 45. In comparison to the other shops up and down Broadway, it’s high. Also, the professionalism was not up to par. As the stylist was blowing out the sections of my hair, she kept stopping to talk to friends and kept trying to keep her toddler occupied. I don’t mind stylist talking, but when you’re doing someone’s hair, I think there should be more focus on the customer. It was very rude, and for the amount of money the shop charges, there should be a higher level of professionalism to match. Additionally, as I was paying, the owner told me that I needed to pay $ 1.00 for the Bobbie pins. My mouth dropped. I gave it to her and politely walked out. Although, I was pleased with results, I will not be returning to this salon. I will try another salon on Broadway.

I came in here on a leap of faith from the one great review that I saw, and all I can say is that I can’t believe it only has one review! I moved out to New York a year ago and had yet to find a place that could make my dry, curly hair look shiny and straight at an extremely affordable price. I’m also incredibly nervous because I’ve had people damage my hair before, so I’m pretty picky about where I decide to go. I tried other places with great results, but it was just breaking the bank. I’m so glad I found Four Sisters, it was only $ 30 for a wash and set for my long and difficult hair, and like Vanelle said it came out shiny, and everyone that leaves looks great. I would definitely recommend this for anyone that has«difficult» hair, you’ll be in good hands.

I love this place! I stumbled across it last month and I’m hooked. I had been looking for a Dominican or African American salon in Bed Stuy since I moved here six years ago. I tried a handful of places, but they were all were just as lackluster as my hair. This salon does a wonderful wash and set then uses the flat iron so you leave with silky hair. It is also a good sign that everyone who leaves, looks great. The prices are reasonable. I pay $ 25 for a wash and set and about $ 45 for a wash and set and color.
