Cheap and tasty food, fast delivery. I know what I’m going to get every time; my go-to when afternoon cravings hits.

Awesome and cheap burritos. However, avoid the guacamole at all costs!

Just ordered chicken enchilada but it doesn’t appear to be chicken. Even the dog wouldn’t eat it! Would suggest never to order from this place. It is cheap but its not chicken! It’s a chinese mexican so god knows what they put in it!

We have ordered from Fresco many times in the past, and have always been satisfied with our orders. But tonight, they double charged us for our food, brought us 2 orders, would not take one order back, and refused refund. When we called to refute the charge, the woman on the phone scolded us and began blaming us for their mistake. When the food arrived, the delivery guy called us on the phone and began yelling that he was outside with our food. Fresco Greenpoint makes me rethink our crap Mexican food decision– next time we will go with Grand Morelos or Yolas where the service and guacamole is much better. Not worth it for food that literally looks like poop(refer to guacamole image).

It is super cheap. It is tastier than it should be for the price. Fresh, nice people.

A Mexican spot with crab rangoon, don’t mind if I do! Actually the crab rangoon was way better than the shrimp burrito. They seemed to be prepared with care and were perfectly crispy with a delicious creamy cheesy interior. I would definitely have to have these again! The shrimp burrito was just sloppily prepared. The flavors of the shrimp were good as well as their size, but the rice was undercooked and it was barely wrapped in burrito form. I may just switch to their shrimp soft tacos next time and do a repeat on the rangoon!

This would be more of a 2.5 star review but I didn’t want to be overly generous and give this place 3 stars. Fresco Tortillas have multiple locations throughout the city and the first one I’ve ever been to was by my high school on West 56th and 10th Ave. I remember thinking Mexican food being made by Chinese immigrants was a quirky restaurant niche that said individuals were occupying well. This place delivers to me and I’ve only been to the location once. It looks like a dingy American-Chinese takeout place. The tortillas are a bit on the doughy side and yes, they use ingredients that you would normally get from a Chinese takeout place. Everything is super cheap and not ultra greasy. I like the quesadilla sincronizada with jalapenos. Despite being a patron for 10 years now(yikes, has it really been that long since I was in high school?), I don’t think I’ve ever tried their burritos. Perhaps I’ll try them the next time I order from them, which’ll be when I’m in the craving for pseudo Mexican food.

Great food, CHEAPASHELL. Yes it is a mexican food made by chinese staff. Not sure what they do to the food but it is delicious. Only word of advise stay away from the Eel Taco. Not that great.

Have had more positive experiences since my first review. The food is so-so. Never got sick, it’s totally edible. Fairly healthy even. Sometimes verging on yummy. But it’s not great tex-mex. It’s just okay NYC-Asian-Tex-Mex. Hits the spot if you are hungry and does it without a lot of $$$. The combos are a great deal. I don’t like the chicken personally(thigh meat with some skin on it) and the steak can sometimes be quite flabby. The salad in various dishes is iceberg and off-red tomatoes. They have that fakey«Spanish rice» that most of these places have. On the other hand, anything bean-related is good(quesadillas, tortillas), and the flour tortillas themselves are the best part — homemade and very fresh. Nice. Delivery is slow(waiting an hour is normal), but besides that the service is much better than it was when I wrote the last review.

We just finished getting our taxes done and saw this little place. Very tiny. Maybe 2 small tables inside with cheap little metal chairs. The food was cheap. The food was AWESOME. FRESHFASTANDHEALTHY. I cannot stress how great this place was. The service was fast and friendly. This little hole in the wall place was truly a diamond in the rough. I will drive all the from North New Jersey to Greenpoint just for their nacho’s again…

The fajitas by the pound from this spot were the BEST value in the neighborhood. Just called to order them again, was informed, «we don’t make Mexican food anymore, only Chinese.» Super bummed. EDIT: Fajitas and all Mexican food is back. Don’t know what was going on the day I reference above. Still the best option for that cheap Mexican food you drunkenly crave.

One of the reasons I love Greenpoint is that you can keep discovering places you didn’t know existed, even though they are right around the corner from you. This establishment has very reasonable prices and a large menu. Burritos cost almost twice as much as everything else on the menu(~$ 5.90) but they are huge. Extremely quick and friendly service.

A few days ago I went to Chipotle and decided I would embark on a Mexican kick. I don’t know how authentic this place is, but they make a pretty decent chicken taco. Plenty of chicken, with just enough lettuce, tomato, and cheese so I wasn’t spilling the contents after every bite. I opted for the hard shells and was pleasantly surprised. Because of my experience at Fresca Tortilla I have converted from tortillas to shells. I liked this place. $ 4 for two, stomach-filling tacos? I’m digging it. And my roommate really dug his black bean quesadilla too.

I’ve been getting back to basics lately and there is nothing more basic then my enduring favorite the Bean and Cheese Burrito. I feel I have no choice but to forever reiterate the appalling state of NYC Mexican food… to make my point I think the fresh flour tortilla with pinto beads and cheese($ 1.39) from Fresco might be one of the best I’ve had on this coast. This place and its food might be as far(east) from real Mexican food as possible, but I care a thousand times more about tastes then authenticity. PS– It’s ok, I’m Asian enough to make that fast east joke…

Fresco Taco is one of those Mexican food places where the food is cooked by Chinese people– and an unique combo ensues! As my go to take out place, fresco taco has good, greasy but yummy mexican at cheap prices.

I can’t believe I’m giving this place three stars. I’m not really sure when«Chi-Mex» cuisine hit the NYC scene, but according to the menu which actually boasts a review from The New York TImes, I’m guessing that this was one of the firsts. Make no mistake, the food here is bearable at best, but somehow I still order from here. It’s cheap as all hell and gets to your place in about 15 minutes and hell, when you’re hungover or too lazy to move the comforting grease somehow hits the spot. You can’t go wrong(or right) with the guacamole or pinto beans on a fresh made tortilla. Don’t order a veggie taco unless you’re ready for baby corn. And yes DUH, this isn’t real Mexican food. So, don’t talk about how you used to live in California or Texas Blah Blah Blah… We’re in New York now and sometimes it makes sense to eat Chi-Mex

Drunk food lovers unite. I ordered this to quell the onslaught of a too early afternoon tipsy-ness, and found myself in love. you can get anything here, which is weird, horrifying, and wonderful, all at the same time. Everything is crazy cheep, and tastes so good with a beer. We got cheeseburgers, mexican pizza, cheesesticks, black bean tacos and chips. it was all amazing. I’m not sure what people are looking for, but stick to the obviously delish and you’re going to be happy. order it tipsy and you’ll be in heaven. Also, they use , which is so easy and convenient it’s hard to believe it’s real.

This place is hilarious. It’s Mexican food made by Chinese immigrants, and it’s obvious when you get packets of asian hot sauce with your order. It’s especially obvious when you order a veggie burrito or veggie Mexican pizza and get a combination of vegetables that includes baby corn and snow peas. I dislike their pico de gallo and that they use styrofoam. But I love their Mexican pizzas. The aforementioned vegetable combo is obviously strange, but I’ve just learned to ask for it without certain veggies. I can’t really vouche for any of the other foods, as I haven’t tried them yet and honestly a little afraid to. But I can say that the prices are dirt cheap, ranging from $ 1.19 to $ 5.89 an item and minimum for delivery is only $ 6.00. A big plus, they will deliver to Long Island City. A quote from a 1992 New York Times article printed on the back of their takeout menu, «It doesn’t matter what countryy ou come from, as long as you know what you’re doing.»

So this isn’t really a Mexican restaurant but a chinese restaurant with mexican and chinese food. The usual woman behind the counter is polite and they do get business. However, their meat is always fresh — I always eat their steak and rice — which is great. Their steak is always juicy and tender. $$$ not cheap not expensive. Their tortillas are very good, and the fajitas are just average. You can put chicken, steak, etc. However, the salsa is pretty horrid — too watery. Definitely try this out —, and don’t buy their«story» of how their store started on the menu… i just don’t believe it.
